>> Karl has Lagerfeld Confidential, Marc has Marc Jacobs & Louis Vuitton, and Valentino has the upcoming Valentino: The Last Emperor. Filmed from June 2005 to July 2007 and directed by Matt Tyrnauer, Vanity Fair's editor-at-large and author of Valentino Garavani: Una Grande Storia Italiana ($1,350!!), the documentary focuses on the end of Valentino's career and his relationship with business partner Giancarlo Giammetti.
Set to debut at The Cannes Film Festival later this month, the film features a cameo by Andre Leon Talley, a hint of tension between Valentino Garavani and his appointed successor Alessandra Facchinetti (Valentino's last lines in the film are: "Après moi, la déluge" ["After me, the downfall."]), and a peek at Valentino's playboy lifestyle: three meals a day with waiters with white gloves, and the like.
