>> ON THE CAMPAIGN TRAIL —Fall 2008 campaigns brought a wave of supermodels and for Spring 2009, at least one brand isn't over the nineties girls yet: Ana Claudia Michels, who opened the Givenchy show earlier this month, is jetting into New York to shoot the brand's campaign with Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin tomorrow. No word as to whether it's an only girl campaign, but if so, I'm sorry to see Riccardo Tisci's favorite Mariacarla Boscono go. [RG Vogue]
UPDATE: Mariacarla Boscono, Lara Stone, and Lakshmi Menon are said to be joining Ana Claudia at the shoot. [TFS]

>> Sacha Baron Cohen's successful stint as Bruno at Stella McCartney yesterday must have emboldened him, because now he's all over the map. Last night, he was filming at the Givenchy party, and today, he tried to get into Vanessa Bruno wearing a sailor suit and throwing an anchor, but was refused entry.
He was able to get into Jean Charles de Castelbajac, though, and antics ensued: "He whipped out a fold out chair, placed it in front of the front rowers and started writing love letters to girls in the audience. Then he jumped on stage shouting into his mobile phone and walked down the catwalk with the last model."
Video: He also passed notes to the models! »

>> THE MODELIZER —The runways have brought plenty of surprise walkers this week — Iselin Steiro and Natalia Vodianova at Balenciaga, Ana Claudia Michels, Frankie Rayder, and Dewi Driegen at Givenchy . . . and now Naomi Campbell is rumored to be appearing on the Hermes runway on Saturday. >> Keep the hard-edged black leather, trade in the religious iconography of Fall for cowboy couture, and you've got Riccardo Tisci's vision of Spring. The collection already has at least one early adopter in the form of Carine Roitfeld, and she's not the only top brass taking note: at least four LVMH executives sat front row, indicating that Givenchy may be moving on up in importance for the group. So will the bondage tops, denim and leather chaps, and peekaboo dresses catch on? With most of the fashion crowd, for sure — except maybe Cathy Horyn, who called the collection "gluttonous" and a "mess."

>> INSIDER WIRE —Carine Roitfeld is often known to wear pieces right after they've been on the runway, but as the fashion cycle gets faster and faster, so does her turnaround rate. This past February during Paris Fashion Week, she got to wear the much-coveted Fall 2008 Yves Saint Laurent boots before they debuted on the runway, and this morning, she did it again, showing up to Karl Lagerfeld in a Spring 2009 Givenchy cape that debuted on the runway this evening.
