>> For those of you watching Gossip Girl tonight, you'll get an extra treat — Sofia Coppola's first-ever commercial, featuring Maryna Linchuk for Miss Dior Cherie fragrance, will be debuting during the show. Coppola directed Maryna as she has a fitting at the Dior atelier in Paris and playfully romps through the city streets, all to Brigitte Bardot's song, "Moi, Je Joue." Below, a hint at what's to come tonight — some behind-the-scene shots, plus Maryna's ads for the fragrance.

>> Marion Cotillard's new Lady Dior handbag ad has been reminding some of Erwin Blumenfeld's iconic series of photographs that appeared in May 1939 Vogue, featuring Lisa Fonssagrives swinging from the girders of the Eiffel Tower in a Lucien Lelong dress. The only problem is, Lisa was actually being photographed on the Eiffel, whereas Marion looks like she's been photoshopped in . . . with nothing to stand on. Since this ad is only the first in a series of four done by Peter Lindbergh, maybe the photographs — or the photoshopping — will get better as they progress. Further details about the next city Marion will appear in with her bag will be revealed on LadyDior.com, which goes live later this month.

>> ON THE CAMPAIGN TRAIL —It was only a matter of time before a French fashion house snapped up Marion Cotillard. Christian Dior has done just that, tapping the actress to become the face of their Lady Dior bag, which was introduced in 1995 and carried by Princess Diana. The campaign will be out later this year; Cotillard follows behind Lady Dior faces Monica Bellucci, Diane Kruger and Carla Bruni. [WWD]

>> Gisele Bundchen arrived in Paris yesterday, and today she's hitting up a studio — because according to her official web site, she's shooting a Dior campaign for next season. This can only mean one thing: she's taking over from Daria Werbowy for Dior Spring 2009. Sounds like Dior is one major brand looking to put money in for the commercial model so they will get money out of next season — such a decision was predicted to be the theme of the season, after all.
