>> Any hope that Sir Phillip Green and Simon Cowell may have had for Kate Moss to act as a judge on one of their shows in development may have just gone down the tubes: Simon Fuller, creator of American Idol, which helped Cowell rise to fame, just took a majority stake of 51 percent in Moss's model agency, Storm.

Fuller has been in talks with Storm's founders, Sarah Doukas and her brother Simon Chambers, for the past year and aims to “help create new joint entertainment platforms for its talent, as well as developing the Storm brand in new and exciting directions.” Doukas hopes the partnership "will provide Storm with the opportunity to work competitively, creatively and on an international level," and Fuller elaborated that the deal will allow them to “push the boundaries, blur the lines and redefine what a model agency should be in this fast moving world, where fashion is playing an increasingly important role in setting and reflecting cultures and tastes.”

>> Two months ago, Simon Fuller, the founder of 19 Entertainment, which owns controlling stakes in Storm Models, Victoria Beckham Collection, and RM by Roland Mouret, announced that he was leaving the company to start a new company pursuing film and other entertainment projects. He is currently retained as a consultant at 19 Entertainment.

For the past year or so, rumors have surrounded Fuller. Last June, it was announced he was teaming with Topshop's Sir Phillip Green for a global entertainment company; soon after, word came that Kate Moss might somehow be involved. Then, in November, Fuller was rumored to be pairing with Victoria Beckham for a New York-based modeling agency, which Beckham then denied.

But yesterday came news that 19 Entertainment's owner CKX (Fuller sold to CKX in 2005) is discussing the sale of 19 Entertainment to One Equity Partners, the private equity arm of JPMorgan Chase. Without Fuller and with a potential new owner, there's no confirmation on what the buyout might mean for Storm Models, Victoria Beckham Collection, and RM by Roland Mouret.

Topshop Reupps Kate Moss for Three More Years

>> Kate Moss is supposed to have her big announcement tomorrow, but she had a pretty big announcement today, too: Her eight sell-out collections have earned her another three years of designing for Topshop.

Sir Phillip Green, who earlier this year credited Topshop's record sales to the "Kate effect," reiterated his belief in Kate: "Having had two years experience, I am confident that Kate’s collection now has the potential to become a significant global brand within Topshop." Although he hasn't yet granted Kate's wish to do menswear, she will be expanding future collections into lingerie and accessories. Her next collection, for Spring 2009, will launch in March, to coincide with Topshop's New York grand opening.

WWD writes on Topshop's opening in Soho. The article revealed that clothing prices will not be adjusted according to the exchange rate and that expansion strategies do not include shopping mall locations. Instead, Sir Phillip Green intends to launch brick and mortar locations at a brisk pace, recession or not. Our favorite New York shopping site, Racked, however, recently articulated their skepticism for an October opening date of the first U.S. flagship. YSL will be the next pop up venture at London's Dover Street Market, following in the footsteps of Chanel in the Edition 24 space. Located on the third floor of the building, the pop up will feature a collection of travel-inspired pieces and, most notably, a small collection of limited edition YSL pieces with a Yves Saint Lauent/Dover Street Market label. We're pretty sure that's the single greatest collaboration and yet, we're guessing Spring & Clifton for Urban Outfitters will get more attention. Donna Karan held a private trunk show for her Resort collection and, apparently, in just an hour and half, sold $350,000 in clothing. The Resort collection, heavy on pinks and nudes, was ulta-feminine and well-received by editors. Also, Karan rode her bike to the showing and took a car home which impresses us more than anything.
