Naomi Campbell celebrated her 42nd birthday in the holy city of Bethlehem, where she lit candles at The Church of the Nativity (built on the location of Jesus's birth). "I'm happy to be here," Campbell told a Palestinian television station. "Weapons and war, greed and oil . . . I hope it all stops. I care about health, about good vibrations, not destruction." LVMH will "encourage its more than 90,000 employees to adopt state-of-the-art environmental practice" during its first Green Week, an internal initiative designed to make the company friendlier to the Earth. Kate Moss was overlooked for a spot on the new walk of fame in her hometown of Croydon, England. Naomi Campbell is set to star in her very own reality modeling show called The Face. The show, which will air on Oxygen starting next year, will see Campbell and two other as-of-yet-undetermined supermodels supervising three teams of models who will compete until one is chosen as the face of a brand in the United States. "With The Face the audience will get a real insider's look at this exciting industry that has been so good to me," Campbell said. [The Huffington Post]
Kate Moss is donating a portrait of herself taken by Solve Sundsbo to a May 17 auction sponsoring Britain's National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children. The portrait features Moss wearing nothing but a pair of gold pants and crossing her arms to cover her breasts. Its starting price is £3,000, or $4,866 at current exchange. [Vogue UK]
Linda Evangelista will find out this week whether a judge will grant her the $46,000 a month in child support she requested from PPR CEO François-Henri Pinault to help raise their 5-year-old son, Augustin. Alice Temperley is working with British high street label John Lewis on a capsule collection that will debut in September. Called Somerset by Alice Temperley, the line will range from $50 scarves to a $1,600 sheepskin coat. Day dresses will hit the $160 mark. "I wanted it to be very much a collection of essentials and to design a collection that would provide a feminine and functional wardrobe for women in their everyday life," Temperley said. There's been no formal explanation of why The Gap fired its creative director Patrick Robinson, but former members of the retailer's executive team say "his designs seemed lost on Gap customers." He also didn't want customers to see clothes styled any other way than how he showed them originally. When Sarah Burton Lied to Anna Wintour, Analyzing the Modeling Industry, and Kate Moss's 300 Covers

Sarah Burton looked Anna Wintour straight in the eye and lied to her about her involvement with Kate Middleton's royal wedding dress - not a feat most designers could pull off. According to Hamish Bowles, the editor cornered Burton and asked her point blank whether or not she was designing it, and Burton said no. "Anna was telling everyone, 'Sarah told me she's not doing the dress, so she's not doing the dress,'" Bowles said. [The Cut]
A few other pieces of Alexander McQueen's creations are on display as part of the Victoria and Albert Museum's current exhibit, titled British Design 1948-2012: Innovation in the Modern Age. Among other items included in the exhibit is "a tattered Anarchy in the U.K. T-shirt designed by Vivienne Westwood and Malcolm McLaren." [Fashion Etc]
The Model Alliance today released an analysis of the modeling industry's working conditions and found that 68 percent of the models surveyed suffered from depression or anxiety, and 77 percent had been exposed to drugs and alcohol on the job. The analysis also revealed that 93 percent of models get their start in the industry before their 20th birthday. [The Fashion Spot]
Marissa Mayer is known as much for her position as one of the top female engineers at Google as she is for her penchant for designer clothing. "Oscar de la Renta is an amazing designer who works really well with color and detail which I think is something that's inspiring," she says. This Week's Best Dressed

>> The first full week of Spring brought plenty of inspiring new-season styles - and even a few surprises.

Brooklyn Decker traded in her usual low-key ensembles for a plethora of out-of-this-world designer looks: Giambattista Valli, Isabel Marant, and Stella McCartney each made appearances at photocalls for the actress's new film, Battleship. Models Miranda Kerr, Lara Stone, Candice Swanepoel, Karolina Kurkova, Agyness Deyn, Jessica White, and a newly-brunette Jessica Stam were also all spotted out and about - and though each looked just as chic as ever, it was their two very pregnant colleagues, Molly Sims and Lily Aldridge, who really stole the show.

There were also plenty of standout casual styles spotted on the streets - Elizabeth Olsen and Emma Roberts each looked effortless in transitional coat-and-trouser ensembles, and Kate Moss and Jessica Alba each sported rose-hued jeans.

However, perhaps it was Elletra Wiedemann who most aptly captured the week's prevailing mood, when at an event hosted by Vogue and Tod's. She exclaimed, "I really just wanted to dress up!"

Alexander Wang Store Egged, Zac Posen To Bow Sunglasses, Kate Moss on Ab Fab

Someone was sufficiently disgruntled with designer Alexander Wang to throw eggs against every one of the windows of his flagship store in New York's SoHo neighborhood. We haven't heard whether or not the vandalism is connected to his labor lawsuits, but store employees' first task this morning was cleaning up the yolky mess. [The Cut]
Have you been dying to know when Zac Posen would finally start making sunglasses? Posen has inked a collaboration with eyewear manufacturer Illestva for a limited-edition line of shades that will be available next month at Opening Ceremony, Collete and Illestva.com. All of the shades will sell for $300, and Posen is excited to enter a new category. “As we develop the Zac Posen brand, sunglasses allow me to maintain an aspect of flare and attitude for clothing that transitions into day," he said. Kate Moss Wears Spring 2012 Couture in the Latest Issue of Vogue

This Summer, the Ritz will close its doors for an unprecedented two-year renovation. In honor of the hotel's storied fashion history (Coco Chanel lived there, after all), Walker photographed Moss in a bevy of beautiful couture dresses by Alexander McQueen, Dior, and Giambattista Valli, among others. Moss looks so at home in all of the pictures - and that might be because she's spent a lot of time at the Ritz.

"When I was with Johnny Depp, he always stayed there. I had an apartment in Paris at the time, but he said, 'No, we're staying at the Ritz,' so he came by and swept me up to the Ritz - he didn't want to slum it in my apartment!"

Jil Sander on Her Impending Return, Suzy Menkes on the Current State of Fashion, and More

Jil Sander says she's very excited to be returning to her namesake label. "It feels very natural, even though it is like a miracle," the designer says. "At the moment, there seems to be a craving for authenticity and clear visions. I am confident that this is the time for modern sophistication, for attractive, wearable fashion which is true to the new century." The designer's first day back is tomorrow. [WWD]

Suzy Menkes (left) has spoken out about "the current state of fashion," saying that the recent brash of designer shakeups - which started last year with Galliano's ousting from Dior and has continued with Raf Simons's recent departure from Jil Sander - "leaves a queasy feeling." Menkes goes on to say: "this is not a game of chess . . . real people - especially sensitive designers - deserve not to be treated as pawns in someone else's game." She also mentions that Christopher Kane may be going to Dior. [New York Times]

Topshop's Sir Philip Green will celebrate his 60th birthday in March by flying 150 friends - including Kate Moss and Adele - to a top-secret tropical destination. The exact location has not been disclosed, but it reportedly houses a five-star resort with over 100 villas with private pools. [Vogue UK]

Around 100 guests - including Kate Moss, Stella Tennant, Yasmin Le Bon, and Rihanna - attended the Saturday evening event, which began with a magic show and finished with a formal jazz band. The real excitement, however, came with the presentation of McCartney's Fall 2012 collection. While guests dined unassumingly at their tables, models burst forth from the crowd - flash mob-style - in an energetic display of table-dancing, chair-passing, and rowdy hip-shaking. "It was nice to see something different, something dramatic. The clothes looked great," guest Bianca Jagger exclaimed.

Abbey Lee Kershaw is the face of a new set of Gucci fragrances. The fragrances launch this March and all have names that start with "G" - Gorgeous Gardenia, Gracious Tuberose, Glamorous Magnolia, Generous Violet, Glorious Mandarin - "because of Gucci, of course," explains the brand's creative director, Frida Giannini. Jerry Hall returned to the catwalk this week to walk Jean Luc Amsler's couture show in Paris. The 55-year-old wasn't the only older model to grace the couture runways; Yasmin Le Bon, 47, walked Stéphane Rolland's show wearing a 110-pound dress. [Telegraph]
