>> Rad Hourani Launches Secondary Line -If there's anyone who could give Alexander Wang a run for the edgy, downtown crowd, Rad Hourani would be him. Yesterday, the stylist-turned-designer presented a secondary collection, dubbed Rad by Rad Hourani, of 15 looks - all unisex just like his runway collection - and with the same grayscale palette and angular silhouette. "In the main line, we use leather, cashmere, and all of these luxury, high-end fabrics,” explained Hourani. “This is just more relaxed and easier to wear in cotton and jerseys.” The collection runs $100 to $400 and debuts in stores and online in late November. Anna Dello Russo Wants to Do a Book with Jak & Jil's Tommy Ton

>> Anna Dello Russo has become a street-style photographer's favorite, to say the least, but her relationship with Jak & Jil's Tommy Ton seems to be strongest - she gave him the opportunity for his first fashion editorial, invited him to her suite at the Ritz Paris to photograph her as she readied for the Vogue Paris masquerade ball during Paris Fashion Week, and now, she blogs: "My next wish? Do a book with my whole collection of clothing by Tommy Ton." The resultant photos, coupled with some of her ten-rule lists, which are becoming a signature on her blog - the latest is about wearing headpieces, with tips like "Don't wear hats everyday! The effect will be stronger" and "Fruits will be the big trend of next season" - would be something to behold. [ADR]

Ton is also blogging for the Lane Crawford website through the month of March, posting more of his exclusive photos from Fashion Month that won't be seen on his own blog.

>> ON THE CAMPAIGN TRAIL -Scott Schuman recently nabbed his first major fashion campaign for DKNY Jeans, and now another cult street photographer, Tommy Ton of Jak & Jil, has been tapped by Chinese luxury retailer Lane Crawford to take over shooting its ad campaign from Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin. The store's fashion director, Sarah Rutson, is known as a tastemaker, so who knows what her blessing will bring Ton in the future, but it's safe to say that streetstyle bloggers are gaining traction in the ad market. >> The number of opportunities for fashion and style bloggers have exponentially grown this year; many scored coups in April, and this month they keep adding up. Sea of Shoes' Jane Aldridge designed six pairs of shoes for Urban Outfitters under the label J. Aldridge for Urban Outfitters, with the first three pairs hitting stores July 15 and the second three in December. Refinery29 and Teen Vogue have looks at the first set, which includes black studded gladiator heels ($98), black lace-up flats ($58), and knee-high peep-toe boots ($178), and as memory recalls marks the first design collaboration between a blogger and a major retailer - save perhaps Rumi Neely of Fashion Toast's upcoming pieces for RVCA.

Facehunter, Fashion Toast, and BunnyBisous Bloggers Convert Posts Into Further Industry Opportunities

>> Streetstyle photographers Garance Dore, Scott Schuman of The Sartorialist, and Tommy Ton of Jak & Jil have all turned their blogs into further industry opportunities - Garance now shoots editorials for the likes of Glamour Italy and guest blogs for Vogue.fr, Scott has photographed two seasons worth of DKNY Jeans campaigns and has a compilation book coming out in September, and Tommy did the Spring 2009 Lane Crawford campaign. And style blogger Susanna Lau's time on Style Bubble allowed her to transition from digital media planner at an ad agency to commissing editor of Dazed & Confused's DazedDigital.com.

In the past week or so, a handful of other fashion bloggers have seen their blog time become currency for further opportunities: Yvan Rodic of Facehunter just announced a compilation book of his streetstyle photography is coming out in early 2010. Julia Frakes of BunnyBisous and Paper's Fashion Schmasion is doing some lookbook time - first in Rachel Antonoff's Fall 2009 set and yesterday, she apparently shot the Chloe Sevigny for Opening Ceremony lookbook, complete with '90s hair; the last round of which Chloe starred in herself. And finally, Rumi Neely of Fashion Toast just signed with Next, is appearing in RVCA's campaign, and has further upcoming editorials and styling work already in the pipeline.

The First Full Pictures of Thom Browne's Newly-Launched Women's Collection for Spring 2011

>> Thom Browne announced earlier this year that he's making an official foray into womenswear: “I want to develop it the same way men’s developed - small at first, and evolving slowly.” Which means that his Spring 2011 collection - the first full pictures of which have just surfaced - debuted under the radar, save for the closeups Tommy Ton posted at the beginning of the month.

The collection is just as Browne promised: “It’s very focused on jackets and trousers and outerwear. I think it’s what people expect from me, very men’s-inspired women’s clothing. Gray flannel, navy cashmere. Good, all-American men’s wear influence, but fitting in a cool feminine way. I want it to be very understandable. Personally, when I see it on the girls I think it looks so good. I like the idea of men’s tailoring on girls. It’s very strong and sexy in a nonovert way.”

Browne's plan is to have his womenswear become "a fully developed collection . . . in the next couple seasons.” And he's already got a full runway show planned during New York Fashion Week in February for Fall 2011.

Blogger Overload: Tavi Styles Again, Rumi Models, and Tommy Ton Makes Fashion Editorial Debut in Vogue Nippon October 2010

>> Needless to say, bloggers are keeping busy. Today alone, Hanneli Mustaparta hosted the Fashion's Night Out livestream alongside Andre Leon Talley, and it was announced that Tavi Gevinson would be styling part of Alice + Olivia's Spring 2011 presentation and Rumi Neely will model in Rebecca Minkoff's Spring 2011 presentation.

Tommy Ton, meanwhile, who has built quite the rapport with Vogue Nippon's fashion director-at-large, Anna Dello Russo - she recently invited him to her country home for a photo session - has taken the relationship professional. Ton thanked Dello Russo via Twitter for giving him his first-ever fashion editorial, published in Vogue Nippon's October 2010 issue (Ton has previously done a set of portraits of Tavi for Vogue Paris). The editorial, "A Renaissance of Style," which is styled by Dello Russo's assistant Aurora Sansone, features Ton's signature street-style-inspired shots - with plenty of shoe and bag close-ups - of Suzanne Diaz and Tatiana Cotliar. Models fees are required in France, so Christian Lacroix chipped in to pay his 10 models 50 euros apiece. Normal couture fees are said to be around 1300 euros per show for new faces - every year of experience earns a "raise" of about 1000 more euros. [Imaginary Socialite]

Jean Paul Gaultier had a 12-lb dress, Chanel had three seamstresses working on the bride look, and Maison Martin Margiela used 2,000 pen caps for a jacket: it's Fall 2009 couture by the numbers. [The Cut]
