Sea of Shoes Blogger Designs for Urban Outfitters; Holt Renfrew Salutes Bloggers in Window Displays

>> The number of opportunities for fashion and style bloggers have exponentially grown this year; many scored coups in April, and this month they keep adding up. Sea of Shoes' Jane Aldridge designed six pairs of shoes for Urban Outfitters under the label J. Aldridge for Urban Outfitters, with the first three pairs hitting stores July 15 and the second three in December. Refinery29 and Teen Vogue have looks at the first set, which includes black studded gladiator heels ($98), black lace-up flats ($58), and knee-high peep-toe boots ($178), and as memory recalls marks the first design collaboration between a blogger and a major retailer - save perhaps Rumi Neely of Fashion Toast's upcoming pieces for RVCA.

Our network partners have been doing their market work--with textiles research, beauty product reviews, and new brands to mention, they are surely keeping themselves busy.

We first learned about the contemporary brand, Complex Geometries, last Spring when their cotton hooded t-shirts and dresses started flying off the OAK shelves. Thinking this particular garment was the most brilliant of packable, easy to wear, things we wondered what else the brand had to back up their name. This Spring 09 season shows that they have, in fact, quite a lot. This brand is the young, sexy version of any department store company that attempts to sell women six garments for all of their travel needs. A young chicster, that is, might take simply a pair of jeans, moccasins, peep-toe ankle boots, and three of four Complex Geometries garments and be set for, let's see, an entire fashion week. Back of My Neck Getting Dirty and Gritty

The dripping doldrums of summer are starting to get to people. Its not just us mumbling to ourselves about how the sun doesn't care. Our community is starting to feel the heat. The Coveted illustrates just how done she is with summer by showing off a pair of sunglasses by Klavers van Engelen that are literally melting. We personally aren't so into making the point that we are sweaty and gross via extravagant accessories but our favorite antidote to the downsides of summering in the city happens to be a very simple garment indeed. When showering becomes pointless because you now you are just going to get moist within minutes the loungey, why bother, just throw something and get out the door garment becomes crucial. And thus you have the falling off your sweating limbs tank top. Why invest in clinical strength deodorant when you can just get a few new shirts.
