>> If ladylike and badass made love, Yigal Azrouel's Fall 2012 collection would be their genius offspring. And, like any love child, two genes must each lend their unique touches. Here, the demure (midcalf skirts) met the totally edgy (leather touches and sheer dresses) - still, it's obvious the genes of badass reigned supreme. Fur trapper hats, aviator sunglasses, silver chokers, and leather gloves set the tone, while baby-blue hues and outerwear worn over the models' shoulders lent an air of femininity. Bursts of maroon, forest green, ivory, and oatmeal further kept the collection - and audience - on its toes.

Bright Colors and Boyish Cuts Strut Down Yigal Azrouel’s Fall 2011 Runway Show

>> 9 a.m. was an early wake-up call for Yigal Azrouel's Fall 2011 showing, but those who made it were given a instant jolt of energy thanks to the designer's cool and colorful menswear inspired collection. The line was all about "celebrating the strength and power of artistic femininity," which Azrouel expertly exemplified through melton wool cropped boy pants, oversized knit "tail" tops, pleated bib blouses, and covetable coats. Bright splashes of color - jade, mandarin orange, pink, and cobalt were tempered with a more muted colors - supplied just the right amount of pop for Fall. There were details, like metallic ties, tuxedo stripes, leather trim, and custom bow ties by WUYORK, which furthered the boyish theme. The standout look, a oversized tweed coat paired, cobalt trousers, sweater, and button-up shirt, is a sleek geek chic option. Azrouel's outerwear were also a force to be reckoned with: classic herringbone coats with contrasting collars, leather and fur jackets, and streamlined oversized blazer coats are sure to be cozy staples come Fall.

CFDA Hosts Parties Two Nights in a Row - A Design Challenge at Anna Wintour's House and a Book Launch

>> The CFDA has had a busy last couple of nights. The 2010 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund finalists, which include Eddie Borgo, Pamela Love, Joseph Altuzarra, and Christian Cota, gathered at Anna Wintour's house on Wednesday night with their model muses for the design challenge cocktail party, which this year required a look for a working woman, inspired by Ann Taylor. And last night, designers like Francisco Costa - with Bianca Jagger on his arm, Subversive Jewelry's Justin Giunta, Peter Som, and Yigal Azrouel braved the torrential rain to toast the CFDA and Assouline's latest tome, American Fashion Designers at Home. CFDA president Diane von Furstenberg didn't make it - she's been temporarily bedridden with a cold - but plans are already in place for the next CFDA and Assouline collaboration: American Fashion: Designers on the Go, due out in Spring 2011, which will encompass travel guide tips, suggestions, and personal photos of favorite vacation places from designers.

The 2010 CFDA Awards Are Here! Marc Jacobs, Alexander Wang, Jason Wu Take Home Wins

>> This evening at Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall, fashion's finest gathered for the 2010 CFDA Awards. Jak & Jil's Tommy Ton snapped photos of the arrivals, J.Crew's Jenna Lyons introduced herself to Isabel Toledo, and the ever-punctual Anna Wintour was later than usual, appearing after the pre-awards cocktails were in full swing.

Wintour put on her signature shades for the ceremony itself, but off they came when International Award winner Christopher Bailey thanked her (along with Tom Ford and Donna Karan) - in fact, she was beaming. Later, she got on stage to present Michael Kors with his Lifetime Achievement Award - he received a standing ovation - and told a story about how she went on a trip to Jamaica with Kors; when Ralph Lauren arrived, Kors got in the ocean and stayed there for hours because he didn't want Lauren to see him in his swimsuit.

Speaking of Lauren, he received the Popular Vote for the second year running - although he wasn't in attendance this evening. Sarah Jessica Parker, dressed in a custom gown by new Alexander McQueen creative director Sarah Burton, presented Lee Alexander McQueen posthumously with the Special Tribute Award, noting that the designer had "the most beautiful hands I've ever seen," before models took the stage in the designer's last works.

Accepting her Fashion Icon Award, Iman thanked her parents for the longest neck on any model at any go-see in the world and joked to husband David Bowie: "Move over. You're not the only icon in the house." And finally, Marc Jacobs scored the Womenwear Award - he thanked bloggers for his win and said to Robert Duffy: "i want to thank [Duffy], without you this dream would never have come true."
