What's Going on with Tanya Dziahileva?

>> There have been a lot of big model-agency switcharoos lately, with both Agyness Deyn and Snejana Onopka moving to Women, but conspiracy theorists have a new model on their minds: Tanya Dziahileva.

In the past few days, she has gone missing from her agency IMG's site; when you add that information to the fact that she left IMG's Milan branch for Why Not Models, and IMG's Paris branch for Marilyn, some are calling foul, especially since shedidn't walk New York Fashion Week because of a lost passport, but made it to Milan and Paris just fine.

Was the lost passport an excuse because she didn't have New York representation? Was she dropped by IMG, did she quit, or is her disappearance from the site all a mistake?

Linda Evangelista Testifies in Child Support Hearing

Francois Henri Pinault and Linda Evangelista both took the stand in a child support hearing on Friday, the second of four days in court that will determine whether Pinault will have to pay child support for their 5-year-old son Augustin.

After being asked why he provided financially for his 5-year-old daughter Valentina (whose mother is Pinault's wife, actress Salma Hayek), but did not extend the same courtesy to Augustin, Pinault told the court that he offered to pay Evangelista child support in 2007. Evangelista didn't respond until 2010.

"The way I work is that I make an offer and if someone doesn’t respond, I think the answer is no," he said during the testimony. "That no money was needed for the care of Augie. That was my understanding."

When Evangelista took the stand, her lawyer William Beslow asked her to recount her childhood picking cherries for "50 cents a basket" in Canada, and how little she was paid after she was discovered as a model. He also asked her about the kind of work she does now.

"In 2010 I was asked to walk in Jean-Paul Gaultier's final show for Hermés in Paris," Evangelista said. "It would have paid close to $100,000," she said, adding that she had to turn down the job because she had an early court date concerning the current child support proceedings. The court date was cancelled the evening before Evangelista was set to meet with the judge, and by that time it was too late for her to get back on the Gaultier runway.

"I couldn’t magic myself to Paris," she said.

Evangelista revealed that Pinault was Augustin's father late last year and was rumored to be asking for $46,000 a month in child support. Beslow shot that notion down on Thursday, saying that figure was part of a PR campaign by Pinault's lawyers.

Evangelista's testimony will continue Monday.

Naomi Campbell is set to star in her very own reality modeling show called The Face. The show, which will air on Oxygen starting next year, will see Campbell and two other as-of-yet-undetermined supermodels supervising three teams of models who will compete until one is chosen as the face of a brand in the United States. Kate Moss is donating a portrait of herself taken by Solve Sundsbo to a May 17 auction sponsoring Britain's National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children. Jean Paul Gaultier has been named to the nine-member panel of the Cannes Film Festival, alongside actors Ewan McGregor and Diane Kruger. Gaultier, a longtime film lover, will help the panel select the winner for the Palme d'Or, Cannes's biggest prize. Versace will show its Fall 2012 couture show at the Ritz Hotel in Paris on July 1, a month before the hotel is scheduled to close for a two-year renovation. The Ritz has a special place in Versace's history - it's where Gianni Versace presented his last collection for the house before he was killed in 1997. Gucci, Guess Present Closing Arguments in Trademark Infringement Case

>> Guess left the final courtroom session of its trademark infringement case with Gucci on slightly stronger footing, but the judge in the case has yet to make a final decision.

Daniel Petrocelli, defense lawyer for Guess, argued yesterday that his client's products simply didn't infringe on any of Gucci's "weak trademarks," primarily because other brands had similar designs. He also pointed out that if Gucci had been legitimately concerned about Guess making Gucci knockoffs over 20 years ago, it would have filed this lawsuit sooner.

Judge Shira Scheindlin asked Gucci's lawyer Louis Ederer why his client didn't come to court sooner and didn't seem satisfied by his answer that at the time, Gucci's focus was on shutting down counterfeiters.

Still, Ederer's closing statement maintained that Guess wantonly re-created Gucci's products. Earlier in the trial, he presented emails between Guess and its licensees that suggest Guess worked specifically to mimic Gucci's style.

"This was a perfect storm of willful infringement," Ederer said. "It was in fact a calculated scheme."

Calculated or not, the Guess team left the court in high spirits.

"We had a good day," said Guess CEO Paul Marciano, who testified in the trial last week. "I think we put up, in my view, overwhelming evidence of good faith that there was no infringement."

Scheindlin is expected to hand down her final decision on the case within the next few months.

Gucci's lawsuit claims that over 150 products produced by Guess and its licensees since the late '80s knocked off Gucci's signature diamond logo pattern and striped ribbon motif. The suit seeks damages of $221 million and an order for Guess to stop selling the offending products.

Marc Jacobs has just inked a deal to do a line of beauty products with Sephora, the beauty retailer owned by LVMH - which also owns Jacobs's eponymous line as well as Louis Vuitton, the other brand Jacobs designs. The cosmetics line is in its infancy, so there's no price point or release date set as of now. "We currently are working on defining what Marc Jacobs cosmetics will be, what they'll say, what makes them distinctive," Jacobs said.
