Kate Moss Goes Nude on Vogue Brazil's May 2011 Cover

>> In February, Kate Moss spent five days in both Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo with Mario Testino, shooting for Vogue Brazil's hefty 36th anniversary edition. "We worked the whole time," she told Vogue UK right after the trip. "We shot 60 pages for the magazine. It was a lot. I had Lila with me and I thought it would be more of a holiday, Mario usually finishes quite early, but not this time."

Testino captured her opposite Brazilian symbols of his choice - including architect Oscar Niemeyer, soccer star Pele, actors Rodrigo Santoro and Marcio Garcia, and model Mayana Moura. One location of choice was Rio's Copacabana Palace, where Testino had Moss posing in the hotel's spa and kitchen during working hours. The 508-page edition, which features Moss nude on the cover, hits newsstands May 2.

Alber Elbaz Art Directs for Vogue Brazil December 2009

Elbaz conceived the December 2009 cover of Vogue Brazil, featuring Madisyn Ritland and photographed by Stephane Gallois, as well as an editorial inside, "The Fabulous World of Alber Elbaz" with Ritland and Elsa Sylvan. He even makes an appearance in the last shot, peeking out under a floral hat.

>> Gisele Bundchen was spotted in New York late last week, prompting some to hope that she might be in town for Victoria's Secret Fashion Show fittings - after all, it seems like she and Victoria's Secret are still on good terms. Ed Razek, the brand's marketing director, asked Bundchen who her favorite client was for Vogue Brazil's October 2010 issue, and she replied: "I have had the opportunity to work with dear, special people. You are certainly one of them, Ed." A return to the Victoria's Secret runway doesn't seem likely, though - Bundchen put in seven years as an Angel, and when she left in 2007, she said: "I would like to have different chapters in my life. I mean let's be honest - I do this because it's my job." Besides, she recently told Vogue Brazil: "I think [I'll be] working on things I believe in until the day I’m no longer here, because that makes me want to wake up in the morning. So, I think I will never retire, I’ll be always working on something. As a model, I haven’t defined a work time, but slowly I’m electing other priorities." [TFS]

Eight Models for May 2009 Vogue Cover, Including Raquel Zimmermann and Natasha Poly

>> That May 2008 Vogue multiple model cover featuring "today's best models" that will be published just in time for this year's model-themed Costume Institute Gala? It looks like we've got some names - and a number. Brazil's RG Vogue reports that eight lucky girls will be featured on the cover - and they've already got five models attached: Raquel Zimmermann (who other sources have confirmed), Natalia Vodianova, Liya Kebede - all Vogue favorites - plus Natasha Poly and Isabeli Fontana.

My best guess for the remaining three? Kate Moss has to be somewhere in there - she is co-chairing the Gala, after all, and then there's the "unexpected choice" that The Imagist hinted at, who's never been in Vogue at all - a clue that doesn't apply to any of the aforementioned. As for the third unknown, no clues whatsoever.

Sophie Theallet Takes Home 2009 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Win

>> Last night, with the help of keynote speaker Alber Elbaz, who doled out gems on the perils of success - "It's like a bottle of perfume. You smell it, you don't sniff it or drink it" - Alaia veteran and Michelle Obama favorite Sophie Theallet took home the 2009 Vogue/Fashion Fund prize of $200,000 and a year of mentoring. Fellow nominees Patrik Ervell and Monique Pean were named runners-up, and received $50,000 each plus a business mentor.

In her speech, Anna Wintour said that in addition to the US, Italy, and the UK - which just started a similar talent-nurturing program - she just met with the French minister of culture about mirroring the contest there. "And Brazil, India, Russia, and China aren't far behind."

Theallet Tweeted of her win: "my american dream comes true tonight thanks and much love to all of you!xox." Cathy Horyn, too, weighed in on the choice:

"The money and the mentoring will help Ms. Theallet because she needs to be able to offer more range in her collection, as well as expand her production options. She has such a distinctly feminine eye, and the skills, that I’ve often wondered why a big retailer doesn’t ask Ms. Theallet to design some blouses and summer dresses for them, using the store’s resources and manufacturing connections."
