Myf Shepherd Returns to Modeling After Year Hiatus

>> After taking a year-long hiatus to study set design in Sydney, Myf Shepherd is back in the modeling game. "I was too young when I started," 19-year-old Shepherd recently told The Daily Telegraph. "I wasn't really ready for how competitive and everything the real world is, so I just needed to take some time to be a regular teenager. Modeling can be really stressful. You have to look after yourself."

A spread appearing in Vogue Australia's February 2011 issue is Shepherd's first job back at work, her Australian agency confirms: “Myf’s back modelling. She’s continuing on with her studies but she’s very excited to be based in Sydney now and modelling for top end magazines and securing some major Australian campaigns as well. She may go back for the [Spring 2011 Couture or Fall 2011] shows, although there are no plans at this stage. But things happen very quickly, there’s a slight chance she may."

The issue is out tomorrow, but the full shoot leaked, along with a behind-the-scenes video, in which Kerr talks about how "proud" she is of her "belly."

First, a nude portrait for W, and now the January 2011 cover for Vogue Australia, marking the first pregnant cover for the magazine. "I'm definitely taking more time out to relax and be present to the whole experience of being pregnant," she told Vogue Australia. She's also making some changes in her living arrangements: Kerr just put her one-bedroom condo in Manhattan's Flatiron District on the market for $1.395 million; she bought it for just under $1.1 million in 2006 and is now living in Los Angeles with her husband, Orlando Bloom. >> Vogue Australia Erases Abbey Lee Kershaw, Catherine McNeil's Nipple Piercings -While British lawmakers are considering banning airbrushing, Vogue Australia made quick use of Photoshop within its 50th anniversary September 2009 issue. Greg Kadel photographed Abbey Lee Kershaw and Catherine McNeil topless for an editorial entitled "Come As You Are," capturing the models with their nipple piercings in plain view, but in the magazine, the jewelry has been erased - Frockwriter has photo evidence. British Vogue's Alexandra Shulman Stirs Up Size Zero Debate

>> Over the weekend, a "strongly worded letter" from Vogue UK's Alexandra Shulman "sent to scores of designers in Europe and America" - including Prada, Versace, Yves Saint Laurent, and Chanel - was leaked to the Times UK in what some are calling a publicity stunt.

In the letter, Shulman exhumed the size zero fight, accusing designers of an "increasingly disturbing" practice of sending fashion magazines "minuscule" clothes for photo shoots. "I am finding that the feedback from my readers and the general feeling in the UK is that people don't really want to see such thin girls."

She noted that the samples sent were becoming "substantially smaller": "Nowadays, I often ask the photographers to retouch to make the models appear larger." Furthermore, she wrote: "We have now reached a point where many of the sample sizes don't comfortably fit even the established star models. Instead, we are having to use girls with jutting bones and no breasts or hips, to fit them."

Abbey Lee, who's appearing on the March 2009 cover of Vogue Australia instead, is sitting Fashion Week out due to knee surgery (no word on whether she'll make it to Europe), and the cause for Ali's absence is unknown - big campaign, maybe? Anja Rubik and Longtime Boyfriend Sasha Knezevic Are Engaged, Hope to Wed in Summer 2011

>> Anja Rubik and her longtime boyfriend, model Sasha Knezevic, are currently in Sydney where Rubik is shooting a Vogue Australia cover, but just before Christmas, they got engaged. She told Frockwriter:

"We were spending Christmas in Vienna this year because Sasha grew up in Vienna, and his family is there, and my family was coming over. And just two days before he came over, we went to Dance of the Vampires, the one that Roman Polanski directed. It’s an opera. I wanted to see it for such a long time, and Sasha organized the tickets, so it was really nice for Christmas. And then we went out, and we walked around, it was really foggy the whole night, and then he finally proposed, which was funny . . . It was pretty incredible. In the middle of the street. In the middle of the night. And then we went and had dinner in this restaurant that was on the rooftop of a building. And it was really, really nice. Apparently he was carrying the ring around for a while. And that day, we fought all the day long. We were preparing the whole house for Christmas, and there were all these things to be done, and I had to cook, and I had to do this and that and the Christmas decorations . . . I couldn’t find the ones I liked. So it was totally dramatic the whole day. I thought, ‘I’m going to kill him.’ I was like, ‘I think this was my last Christmas ever’ [with him]. And he said, ‘I picked this day on purpose, because although we have our fights, we’ve been together and ra ra ra ...’ And he’s right."

She added that they are "kind of hoping to do [the wedding] in May or June," and the ring is "a beautiful Cartier ring, I think it’s gold. Solitaire."
