Nick Wooster, who was fired from his position as men's fashion director of Bergdorf Goodman last year, has landed a new job as the creative director of menswear at JC Penney. Wooster was let go two days after GQ published an interview in which he said, "I am just an old midget queen who, you know, had the good fortune to get this job and it's like, 'How did that happen?'" Former Vogue special events director Stephanie Winston Wolkoff is leaving her current position as fashion director at Lincoln Center to start her own agency. With SWW Creative, Wolkoff's goal is to "forge new partnerships in fashion, beauty and entertainment." [WWD]
Victoria Beckham's 9-month-old daughter, Harper, is still in diapers, but she's already received her first modeling offer. In an open letter to the youngest Beckham, baby clothing company My First Year wrote, "Both your parents are fashion icons, and we can see no reason why you shouldn't start your own career in the fashion industry even at your young age . . . Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, the singer and style star we all know and love as Lady Gaga, turned 26 years old today. A fan tweeted to Gaga to ask her how she planned to celebrate, and she replied "Quinceañera." [MTV Style]

T Magazine editor Sally Singer confessed to being just as obsessed with nail art as the rest of the fashion world when she collaborated with photographer Raymond Meier and manicurist Maki Sakamoto on a series of photos of her ideal nail art looks. "I had an idea for left wing nails-a left hand with the symbols for different socialist parties on each fingernail, and the right hand could just be painted black," she said. [Nowness]

Iconic photographer Bruce Weber created a short film for ubiquitous mall brand Abercrombie & Fitch that features a group of half-naked young men writhing around in a shower together before one of them plants a tender kiss on the forehead of another. Weber has created slightly homoerotic campaigns and imagery for the brand in the past, but this is the first one to actually touch the issue - pun intended - first hand. [Styleite]

Model and humanitarian Liya Kebede is the star of a new French children's film called Sur la piste du Marsupilami, about a reporter on the hunt for an animal that may or may not exist. Designer Victoria Beckham is on the cover of the April issue of Harper's Bazaar UK. RJ Cutler Working on Another Fashion Film, Victoria Beckham's New Hair

R.J. Cutler, the documentarian who directed The September Issue, is working on a fashion film based on Fabulous Nobodies, the chronicle of an '80s Manhattan nightclub hostess written by former Vogue Australia Editor-in-Chief Lee Tulloch. The screenplay is ready, and Cutler's goal is to start filming by this Fall - now all he needs is a "stylish twentysomething actress for the lead role" and he'll be set. [The Cut]
Fashion designer Victoria Beckham debuted a new haircut this week, chopping off her long locks in favor of a just-below-the-shoulder-length cut. Beckham tweeted a picture of her freshly shorn hair on the floor of her salon this weekend with the message "Chopped it off!" and paparazzi captured her summery new 'do shortly thereafter. Filming has begun on the new Sex and the City prequel show The Carrie Diaries, and AnnaSophia Robb - the actress playing young Carrie Bradshaw - has been spotted toting around a paint-splattered handbag emblazoned with her character's name. >> Victoria Beckham Modeled Fall 2010 Dress Off Osman Yousefzada's Fall 2009 Design? -During a trip to Moscow last week, Victoria Beckham reiterated that she has no plans to do a fast-fashion line and is instead focusing on becoming a luxury designer. She was in Russia showing her Fall 2010 collection, which boasts a column dress (below, right) recently garnering attention for its likeness to a young London designer's column dress (below, left). Osman Yousefzada says that Beckham borrowed the dress from his Fall 2009 collection and then returned it without buying it. He noted that "a lot of people have mentioned the similarity" between his dress and Beckham's Fall 2010 dress. "It is very flattering to think she may have tried my dress and been inspired to create something similar, since it means she must have liked the way the dress was cut and the way it felt to wear. Spills and Thrills at the 2009 British Fashion Awards

>> Last night's British Fashion Awards provided a forum for all kinds of announcements - Christopher Bailey, who accepted both BFC Designer Brand of the Year for Burberry and BFC Designer of the Year, confirmed that Burberry will show in London again for Fall 2010; and Victoria Beckham said she's planning to take an active role in the BFC that in which she would mentor young designers or serve as an ambassador.

Christopher Kane was awarded BFC British Collection of the Year, Kate Moss won the publicly-voted London 25 Award, Peter Pilotto nabbed the Swarovski Emerging Talent Award for Ready-to-wear, and Georgia May Jagger took the BFC Model of the Year award - "Thank you so much to the BFC for picking me. I'd just like to say [fellow nominees] Daisy [Lowe] and Rosie [Huntington-Whiteley] are amazing girls and amazing models. Thanks to my mum for being the biggest inspiration."

But the model who really stole the night was Karen Elson, who, when onstage to present Grace Coddington with the Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator, walked straight into the orchestra pit and fell four feet out of sight. She emerged minutes later, ”I am the clumsiest person on this earth. I cannot believe I just did that. That is the worst fall I have ever had. I might have broken a rib, but I’m fine.” After presenting, she took to the emergency room to see about her injuries - including a sprained thumb.
