But did anyone look better than Elizabeth Banks and Jennifer Lawrence did promoting their new blockbuster film? Take a look at the best this week had to offer.

Kate Middleton Tops Vanity Fair's 2011 Best-Dressed List

>> Vanity Fair has released a preview of its 2011 International Best-Dressed List today, with Kate Middleton - recognized for her "whirlwind of fashion successes" - on top (Her inaugural appearance on the list came back in 2008.). Another recently-married royal - Charlene Wittstock - makes her list debut, and Carla Bruni-Sarkozy is back for the fourth time. Michelle Obama, meanwhile, who is on the list for the fourth year running, makes her first appearance together with Barack Obama in the Best-Dressed Couples category.

As actresses go, Carey Mulligan shows up for a second time; same goes for Tilda Swinton, who's returning after a three-year hiatus. Shala Monroque appears for the first time, while Claire and Virginie Courtin-Clarins and Cara, Chloe, and Poppy Delevingne all make the Siblings category. And Lady Gaga is given her second recognition in the Fashion Originals category, where she's joined by Vanessa Paradis.

Karl Lagerfeld Chooses Kristen McMenamy As Bride for Chanel's Spring 2011 Couture Collection

>> Chanel's current ad campaign spans three generations, and at the brand's couture show today, Karl Lagerfeld highlighted the idea that Chanel is for any age, tapping 40-year-old Stella Tennant to open the show and 45-year-old Kristen McMenamy to close. VIPs galore filled the front row: Kirsten Dunst, Ines de la Fressange, Pedro Almodovar, Karen Elson, Alexa Chung, Daphne Guinness, Diane Kruger, Vanessa Paradis, and Jerry Hall, plus Baptiste Giabiconi, who, for once, didn't walk the Chanel runway. As previewed yesterday, the collection was filled with black patent mule flats and tunic dresses over skinny pants, and at the end, Lagerfeld, joined by his bride McMenamy in a dress fitted with an embroidered train of thousands of gold beads, blew the audience a kiss.

Karl Lagerfeld, Vanessa Paradis Continue Mutual Love Fest with New Chanel Coco Cocoon Ads

>> Vanessa Paradis, who has collaborated with Karl Lagerfeld twice before on handbag campaigns, is the new face of Chanel’s Coco Cocoon bag line. “She is the most divine person to work with and to be with. So why change?” Lagerfeld explained. The full set of images were taken at Lagerfeld's Rue de Lille studio. The two also recently collaborated on a special edition Cannes International Film Festival issue of Madame Figaro, which Paradis is guest editing. Lagerfeld not only lensed Paradis in the cover story, but also appears with her on the issue's cover.

Karl Lagerfled and Vanessa Paradis Team Up For Launch of New Coco Cocoon Collection

Vanessa Paradis, who also appears in the current ads for Chanel Rouge Coco lipstick, is the star of the new Chanel Coco Cocoon collection. Photographed by Karl Lagerfeld in his Rue de Lille studio, Paradis appears in a series of images to break in June magazines. "I have often photographed her for magazines or advertising campaigns and each time it's a pleasure," said Lagerfeld. The pair also recently collaborated on a special issue of French weekly, Madame Figaro, for which Paradis will guest edit, appearing with Lagerfeld on the cover. The complete Coco Cocoon collection, seen in the gallery below, will be in stores May 15.

Roberto Cavalli has been cleared of tax evasion charges.

InStyle magazine has teamed up with Decades Two to offer a selection of vintage sales online from consignors such as Sarah Jessica Parker, Courtney Love, Rachel Zoe, Selma Blair, and Julianne Moore.

Suzy Menkes reports on the Met's new exhibition, “American Women: Fashioning a National Identity” and writes that the collection is missing "crosscurrents to link past and present."

Caroline Sieber Rocks a Chanel Tattoo at Vanessa Paradis Dinner in New York

Chanel hosted a dinner in New York last night at the Mark Hotel to celebrate Vanessa Paradis as the face of Chanel's newest beauty obsession, Rouge Coco de Chanel.

The guest of honor was joined by a stylish crowd gearing up for New York Fashion Week-Kate Bosworth, Daphne Guinness, Caroline Sieber (who arrived with a Chanel transfer tattoo on her upper arm), Terry Richardson, Amy Astley, Irina Lazareanu, and Edita Vilkeviciute to name but a few. Once inside Kate Bosworth and Daphne Guinness showed Derek Blasberg how to work a ballerina bun and the Chanel ambassadors posed for a group snapshot. >> "VP" may stand for Vanessa Paradis, but it also brings "very prosaic" to mind when it comes to the Fall 2008 Miu Miu ads. The stop signs and road lines are themes that Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott have visited many times before. Plus, the set-up and juicy colors are very similar to their branding season after season of the Louis Vuitton campaign.

That said, I like the frizzy hair, 70s-inspired heavy blush, and super-bright colors — they assimilate those insane scuba-inspired Miu Miu clothes well.
