>> The third issue of Dossier with Lou Doillon on the cover doesn't launch until April 12 - launch party tomorrow night - but in the meantime, co-founder Skye Parrott passed along a peek at the innards: an editorial featuring Vanessa Traina in "the best menswear of the season," photographed by Paul Maffi and styled by Keegan Singh, who was just named one of Paper's Beautiful People for 2009 along with Kate Lanphear (who also styled for this issue of Dossier) - apparently they would only consent to do Paper as a duo, featured in the same picture.

The Dossier spread features Eddie Borgo jewelry, which seems to be a trend in Singh-styled editorials - and no wonder, since they live together - Borgo is his boyfriend. Other contents to look forward to within the upcoming Dossier: jewelry designer Pamela Love takes a turn as editorial stylist, and Valentine Fillol-Cordier interviews Charles Anastase.

The girl is definitely interrupted, jerkily bopping around and destroying things.

>> Club Monaco is on a bit of a Euro kick: not only did the brand recently open its first overseas store at Galeries Lafayette in Paris, but it's also joined forces with Brit fashion glossy Dazed & Confused to create its latest lookbook. Photographed by Andrea Spotorno, the spread features Club Monaco's '70s-inspired Fall 2011 collection modeled on a host of international models and it girls: Anna Brewster, Sara Blomqvist, Elodie Bouchez, Lou Lesage, Bambou Gainsbourg, Valentine Fillol Cordier, and Man Repeller's Leandra Medine. >> Model and girlfriend of Jamie Hince from The Kills, Valentine Fillol-Cordier made UK Harper's Bazaar's annual best-dressed list. Her outfit really caught my eye -- the coat with the red collar and big buttons, the black tights, the red shoes, the casual makeup and hair. Excited to have found her, I looked around for more pictures -- surely this couldn't be her only great outfit if she made a best-dressed list. But no such luck -- the only pictures I could find of her were from photo editorials -- no candids, no nothing. Looks like Valentine likes to stay out of the spotlight. But keep your eye out for her -- and I will as well. She looks like she has potential.

a little model motivation

My favorite piece of advice? "Don't be dead." Most of us normal folk get "Look alive!" but hey, the models are anything but normal folk.

P.S. I didn't see any models running to rocker boyfriends after the show (although Valentine Fillol-Cordier was in it, and she definitely has a rocker boyfriend), BUT -- after Vena Cava, saw a very young-looking model canoodling with a well-into-the-middle-ages photographer. Don't you love when stereotypes play out in real life?

the it girl phenomenon

>> It cracks me up to compare the different "it" girls -- us Americans have representation from the likes of Lindsay Lohan, the Brits have Sienna Miller, and then there's the French version.

The French magazine Jalouse just named Valentine Fillol-Cordier their "it" girl of the moment. It's just amazing how natural and laidback and just real she looks compared to her counterparts. And I like that. She's quite the femme mysterieuse -- it is so very hard to find pictures of her on the internet. And I quite like that as well -- that she doesn't milk the spotlight for all it's worth. She does very much have that effortlessly chic feel to her that is so very French. The accompanying editorial they had in Jalouse will illustrate what I mean for you -- and she wears this great clock necklace throughout.
