Thailand May Get Its Own Vogue, Mulberry's Lana Del Rey Bag, & Marc Jacobs's Beach Date

A newspaper in Thailand reported that the country is getting its very own edition of Vogue, hot on the heels of the new edition that just launched in the Netherlands. If the story is to be believed, current Elle Thailand editor Kullawit Laosuksri would be the new magazine's editor-in-chief. He'd also be the only man in the all-women Vogue editors-in-chief club. Mulberry decided to release its new Del Rey handbag, named after singer Lana Del Rey, a few weeks early. Its flagship stores in New York, London, and Singapore started carrying the bag today - Del Rey herself has had one since February - but the rest of the world will have until May to purchase the $1,250 bag. Singer Adam Levine wasn't debriefed before his supermodel ex-girlfriend Anne Vyalitsyna told the world they'd broken up. A friend of his says he was "blindsided" by reports last week that the two were no longer an item, and that Vyalitsyna was eager to avoid the impression that she was the one who got dumped. [The Cut]
Stylist Stevie Dance has started her own shopping-focused blog called Shop Ghost, which promises stories "about how subcultures create shopping trends, how we invest in ourselves, how we stalk ideas online, what we buy but never wear, what we want to recommend and why." Case in point: Shop Ghost launched with a story about shopaholic photographer Tommy Ton, who says he wants to start designing clothes within the next five years. [Shop Ghost]

The most recent of these special shoots? Tommy Ton snapped Tati Cotliar in Wu's Fall 2011 collection on the streets of New York. “It’s actually my favorite collection of his, so I’m very honored to be shooting this particular collection in the way that I do, on a girl like Tati who wears clothes so well,” Ton says of the shoot.

>> Christophe Decarnin showed a new, more "subdued" Balmain collection, according to Cathy Horyn, today for Fall 2011 - which could be in part because Emmanuelle Alt is no longer the show's stylist and Melanie Ward took her place this season. But more curious: Decarnin skipped his final bow and was a no-show backstage. "He's tired after working on the collection. He's not here. He's resting," said a Balmain spokesman. And it seems that Nicolas Ghesquiere and Carine Roitfeld have officially made up - she attended the show today, Tommy Ton tweets: "Just spotted Carine leaving Balenciaga slyly avoiding the paps." The First Full Pictures of Thom Browne's Newly-Launched Women's Collection for Spring 2011

>> Thom Browne announced earlier this year that he's making an official foray into womenswear: “I want to develop it the same way men’s developed - small at first, and evolving slowly.” Which means that his Spring 2011 collection - the first full pictures of which have just surfaced - debuted under the radar, save for the closeups Tommy Ton posted at the beginning of the month.

The collection is just as Browne promised: “It’s very focused on jackets and trousers and outerwear. I think it’s what people expect from me, very men’s-inspired women’s clothing. Gray flannel, navy cashmere. Good, all-American men’s wear influence, but fitting in a cool feminine way. I want it to be very understandable. Personally, when I see it on the girls I think it looks so good. I like the idea of men’s tailoring on girls. It’s very strong and sexy in a nonovert way.”

Browne's plan is to have his womenswear become "a fully developed collection . . . in the next couple seasons.” And he's already got a full runway show planned during New York Fashion Week in February for Fall 2011.

Anna Dello Russo Wants to Do a Book with Jak & Jil's Tommy Ton

>> Anna Dello Russo has become a street-style photographer's favorite, to say the least, but her relationship with Jak & Jil's Tommy Ton seems to be strongest - she gave him the opportunity for his first fashion editorial, invited him to her suite at the Ritz Paris to photograph her as she readied for the Vogue Paris masquerade ball during Paris Fashion Week, and now, she blogs: "My next wish? Do a book with my whole collection of clothing by Tommy Ton." The resultant photos, coupled with some of her ten-rule lists, which are becoming a signature on her blog - the latest is about wearing headpieces, with tips like "Don't wear hats everyday! The effect will be stronger" and "Fruits will be the big trend of next season" - would be something to behold. [ADR]

Today alone, Hanneli Mustaparta hosted the Fashion's Night Out livestream alongside Andre Leon Talley, and it was announced that Tavi Gevinson would be styling part of Alice + Olivia's Spring 2011 presentation and Rumi Neely will model in Rebecca Minkoff's Spring 2011 presentation.

Tommy Ton, meanwhile, who has built quite the rapport with Vogue Nippon's fashion director-at-large, Anna Dello Russo - she recently invited him to her country home for a photo session - has taken the relationship professional. Ton thanked Dello Russo via Twitter for giving him his first-ever fashion editorial, published in Vogue Nippon's October 2010 issue (Ton has previously done a set of portraits of Tavi for Vogue Paris). The editorial, "A Renaissance of Style," which is styled by Dello Russo's assistant Aurora Sansone, features Ton's signature street-style-inspired shots - with plenty of shoe and bag close-ups - of Suzanne Diaz and Tatiana Cotliar.
