>> Tom Ford's Spring 2012 collection was called a "nightmare" by some; now, pictures of the whole offering have surfaced on Vogue.com so you can decide for yourself.

Ford tells Vogue.com that this collection is inspired by the reaction to his first two womenswear collections: “It seems people came looking for what they used to find from me - the ruched dresses, the shaggy fur jackets.” He continues: “My focus is really old-fashioned. I want to do classic clothes. I don’t want to do trendy collections that swing around from season to season. I want to do things that will stay in a woman’s wardrobe a long time - quite ‘forever’ pieces. So I’m looking for consistency.” And how does he define a Tom Ford classic? “Blouses with a loose, slouchy quality; something fitted at the waist, and with a bondage-y thing on the foot - my favorite is the wedge with the chain-strap!”

As for the Fall 2012 season, Ford is already planning to do “ten small, personal presentations” at his London showroom in February, where he'll talk through each look as one by one, his models stand next to him. And about that movie career? “Well, moviemaking has gone away in favor of bag-making,” he told Vogue.com.

Sarah Burton, Tom Ford Recognized at Harper's Bazaar UK's Women of the Year Awards

>> During Harper's Bazaar UK's Annual Women of the Year Awards last night at Claridges in London, guests were treated to the world premiere of Duran Duran's new "Girl Panic!" video, featuring Naomi Campbell, Helena Christensen, Yasmin Le Bon, Cindy Crawford, and Eva Herzigova. Sarah Burton was spotted laughing with the band and was later presented with the Designer of the Year award by a McQueen-dressed Florence Welch. And Tom Ford won the Man in a Woman's World award, presented by a Ford-dressed Natalia Vodianova, who thanked him for “coming back to us women” after a womenswear absence.

>> The Visionaries: Tom Ford documentary that has been promised for some time now - "You know I've never let anyone film me like this before," Ford tells the cameras - finally has a premiere date.

This Sunday, Oct. 23, at 8 p.m. EDT/PDT on OWN is it: when Ford talks about being laughed at for wanting to make a movie and gives a tour of his design studio. Director Michael Bonfiglio, who followed Ford - all access - from his return to womenswear in September 2010 through this past February when he opened his Los Angeles store, says of filming the designer: "I think the most memorable thing, actually, was when I finally showed Tom a rough cut of the film. I flew to Los Angeles to show it to him, and I was very nervous. Given how particular he is about his work - and especially because he's a filmmaker - I was anticipating leaving the screening with ten pages of notes about things he wanted changed. We screened it at a hotel, and he brought one of his colleagues to watch it with us. I sat a little bit behind him, so I could see his reactions as he watched - and about 10 minutes in, I could tell he was pleased. When it was over, he had a big smile on his face, told me he loved it, and essentially had no notes - aesthetic or otherwise."

Tom Ford's Beauty Collection Is Now Available For Preorder

>> Preview the best of Tom Ford's debut beauty collection, now available online for preorder. The 130-product collection, which features a full range of everything from nail lacquer ($30) to lip color ($45 to $48) to eyeshadow ($78) to brushes ($50 to $110), won't be available in stores until Nov. 1, but Bergdorf Goodman and Neiman Marcus are both offering exclusive presales of the entire selection now. Though most of the products sport pretty standard color names ("Tawny Pink," "Peach" - the line is owned by Estée Lauder, after all), a few were christened with some racier, Ford-esque monikers. “One of the nail colors was first called Bitter Chocolate, and it is such a dark, dramatic shade that I changed it to Bitter B*tch. My favorite is Lost Cherry [a lip color]. If you wear it, and you haven’t, then you just might,” Ford told Allure in its October issue. Cathy Horyn Was Disappointed with Phoebe Philo This Season

>> Even the critically-infallible designers are taking a jab or two this season. First Tom Ford, and now Phoebe Philo. Cathy Horyn writes of the Spring 2012 Celine show: "Phoebe Philo knows how to put a statement on the Celine runway. Everyone knows that by now. But the collection she offered on Sunday was a club sandwich of cleverly reworked ideas, with some others that didn’t have a particular urgency. My main problem was that her military-style jackets with wide belts and matching skirts were derivative of old-school Yohji Yamamoto, as were cropped, wide-leg trousers with oversized black leather jackets. Also, if you recall, Miuccia Prada opened her fall 2011 show with rounded jackets; she, too, had wide belts dropped on the hips. It was only a year ago that Rei Kawakubo of Comme des Garcons showed black fake-leather dresses with extra-wide belts. Maybe fashion goes by so quickly today that everything becomes an unrecognizable blur, and maybe a new generation of shoppers is indifferent to this kind of debate, but Ms. Philo’s reputation is based on being her own person, so you expect more from her." A Few Tom Ford Spring 2012 Details

>> Last night, Rachel Zoe, Anna Wintour, and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley joined Tom Ford at Wolfgang Puck’s newly opened Cut restaurant in London just after his Spring 2012 show. Images of the collection won't be released until early next month, but some details have popped up.

The show cast: Abbey Lee Kershaw, Aline Weber, Anais Mali, Anja Rubik, Aymeline Valade, Bette Franke, Candice Swanepoel, Carmen Kass, Caroline Brasch Nielsen, Daphne Groeneveld, Edita Vilkeviciute, Emily Senko, Fei Fei Sun, Jasmine Tookes, Joan Smalls, Kristina Salinovic, Lais Ribeiro, Mirte Maas, Morgane Warnier, Olga Sherer, Sheila Marquez, Sojourner Morrell, and Sui He.

The collection, according to Hamish Bowles: "Amongst the hourglass silhouettes and powerfully sensual effects beloved of Ford fans, since his work at Gucci in the '90s, there was a thread of pre-Raphaelite romanticism in embroidered peasant blouses (of the type Matisse loved to paint) and even frothy, Renaissance-sleeved dresses that evoked the work of the great '60s and '70s London designer Ossie Clark." Also amongst the collection: "a lacquered anemone purple-satin trench coat," "a blush-pink chiffon tracksuit pant," "a cutaway mother-of-pearl wedge," and "the thinnest diamond-crusted heel."

The collection, according to Cathy Horyn: "[It] was loaded up with great day clothes, including loosely laced Moroccan blouses, fringed skirts and some simple but gorgeous dresses with ruching or a belt at the waist and a bubbled hem. A number of outfits also had corsets blended into the tone of the blouse. Equally strong were his evening option of slinky black pants - more like a ski pant - with a simple chiffon t-shirt coated with feathers at the front."

The collection, according to the Telegraph: "Mesh, marabou, raffia fringing, a candlewick effect which suggested long hours at the hand embroiderers, plaited satin ribbons - these were just some of the techniques applied onto those hourglass silhouettes. Throw in bosoms, cupped in cantilevered chiffon, checks, and some snakeskin skirts, and it could have all looked a bit much."

Among those who gathered at the fete, held inside the London landmark Aspley House: Kate Hudson (in coral Elie Saab) and her fiance Matt Bellamy; Bono and Ali Hewson (in Edun); Tom Ford in a velvet suit; Kate Moss (in an Azzaro jumpsuit); and her father Paul McCartney and his fiancee Nancy Shevell. Gwyneth Paltrow, too, joined the festivities - which included an after-party at the Groucho Club in Soho - and was later spotted leaving with two mugs, printed with photographs of McCartney as a baby.
