Vogue launches "Vogue Stylist" an iPhone shopping application for its advertising pages.

>> It's goodbye London, hellooooo Paris for Gareth Pugh. Although he's only been showing since 2005, it was only a matter of time before Gareth took his business from the eccentric incubator that is London Fashion Week to the internationally prestigious Paris Fashion Week.

Thanks to an endowment of 150,000 euros, or approximately $233,549 — the largest international fashion prize of its kind — from the ANDAM Fashion Award, Gareth will be making his move to the next level in Paris this September with his Spring 2009 collection.

Exciting times for Gareth, who is currently on a British Vogue shoot with Tim Walker, Tim Burton, and Helena Bonham Carter, and said of the win: "It think showing in Paris is going to give the me necessary kick in the back side, and it's also a change of scenery from London. I want longevity, of course, and I also want to be taken more seriously."

>> I'm sure you all have gorged yourselves on the Dior Haute Couture shots by this time -- I don't blame you, I couldn't wait either. The triumvirate of Galliano on gowns, Pat McGrath on makeup, and Stephen Jones on headwear definitely ruled the runways with an iron fist -- and I mean that in the most complimentary way of course -- what a spectacle it was.
Although I do have to say I have my distinct favorites -- some of the Japanese reference was just too overblown in a lot of the dresses, so the dresses that caught my eye were more subdued: Morgane Dubled in a layered garnet dress (she looked like she could have been in a very posh Tim Burton movie), Jacquetta Wheeler in a cream tulle confection (both below), and of course Shalom Harlow looked exquisite as the bride (top). I really have no words to convey the beauty these three dresses illustrate for me -- and the idea of folding fabric like origami into a dress is just out of this world. You'll understand my ecstasy when you see the dresses in high quality: Morgane, Jacquetta, Shalom 1, Shalom 2.

New York designers Christian Stroble and Sarah Spratt were influenced by Tim Burton's aesthetic for their most recent collection, so you have goth, goth, and more goth. Which means love, love, and more love from my end. Especially because there are blouson sleeves and high waists.
