Naomi Campbell's Reality Show, Kate Moss's Charitable Portrait, and Linda Evangelista's Child Support

Naomi Campbell is set to star in her very own reality modeling show called The Face. The show, which will air on Oxygen starting next year, will see Campbell and two other as-of-yet-undetermined supermodels supervising three teams of models who will compete until one is chosen as the face of a brand in the United States. "With The Face the audience will get a real insider's look at this exciting industry that has been so good to me," Campbell said. [The Huffington Post]
Kate Moss is donating a portrait of herself taken by Solve Sundsbo to a May 17 auction sponsoring Britain's National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children. The portrait features Moss wearing nothing but a pair of gold pants and crossing her arms to cover her breasts. Its starting price is £3,000, or $4,866 at current exchange. [Vogue UK]
Linda Evangelista will find out this week whether a judge will grant her the $46,000 a month in child support she requested from PPR CEO François-Henri Pinault to help raise their 5-year-old son, Augustin. Evangelista revealed that Pinault was Augustin's father when she filed for child support in late 2011. Pinault is married to actress Salma Hayek; the two have a 4-year-old daughter named Valentina. Alice Temperley is working with British high street label John Lewis on a capsule collection that will debut in September. Called Somerset by Alice Temperley, the line will range from $50 scarves to a $1,600 sheepskin coat. Day dresses will hit the $160 mark. "I wanted it to be very much a collection of essentials and to design a collection that would provide a feminine and functional wardrobe for women in their everyday life," Temperley said. There's been no formal explanation of why The Gap fired its creative director Patrick Robinson, but former members of the retailer's executive team say "his designs seemed lost on Gap customers." He also didn't want customers to see clothes styled any other way than how he showed them originally. The Face To Be Revived?

>> With all the downsizing going on at i-D and T, plus Mixte folding, it's nice to be able to counter it all with something good. Rumors are swirling that The Face, the British style magazine that closed after a 24 year run in May 2004, is about to get up and running again.

Supposedly, executives at Bauer Media have tapped former FHM editor Anthony Noguera to oversee proposals, with aims to have the brand revived next year - but in a new format. The publisher is said to be mulling a number of options, including relaunching The Face as digital-only, a free magazine, or a subscription-only title. Apparently Bauer has ruled out reviving the brand as a monthly newstand title, as it was previously, but declined to comment on the rumors, except to say that it has no plans to relaunch The Face.

Fashion Magazines With Less Retouching: The Future or a Current Fad?

>> In the March 2008 issue of Vogue, premier retoucher of fashion photographs, Pascal Dangin, tweaked a total of 144 images, from ads to editorial spreads, and in The September Issue, which focuses on the making of Vogue's September 2007 issue, Anna Wintour definitely displays a reliance on retouching, asking Mario Testino to superimpose cover girl Sienna Miller's head from one shot onto her body in another shot, and requesting that a cameraman's gut from an editorial shot be diminished, to Grace Coddington's dismay: "Everybody isn't perfect in this world. It's enough that the models are perfect."

When digital manipulation programs first came into use in the early '90s, reports Eric Wilson for The New York Times, art directors originally used them to create a heightened sense of reality like images achieved through movie special effects - "hyper real" style, as former The Face art director and current Love creative director Lee Swillingham coined it - as a reaction against the images of supermodels that looked too perfect. Editors weren't suggesting the resulting look be attainable, Swillingham explains: “We were trying to create a future fashion. You could do something that looked gritty and real or something that looked like plastic.”

She may be Madonna's latest Material Girl, but Georgia May Jagger has always been one of the coolest girls around. With model-mom Jerry Hall's stunning bone structure and dad Mick's iconic gap-toothed pout - not to mention both parents' rock 'n' roll vibe - the 5'7" progeny-turned-muse has already been featured in scores of magazines, from American Vogue to i-D. She's also been photographed by the likes of Mario Sorrenti and Hedi Slimane, fronted major campaigns for Chanel and Versace, and has long-standing contracts with Hudson Jeans and Rimmel London.

"To be handpicked by Madonna and Lola as the new face of Material Girl is truly amazing," Jagger said of her latest endeavor, the back-to-school campaign for junior line Material Girl, which bows this Summer. "My agent received a call from the Material Girl team saying Lola and Madonna wanted to work together with me. From talking with Lola, she and her mum liked my style and thought it would be a good fit," Jagger elaborated. "I've always admired Madonna's style and I'm thrilled to be working with her and Lola. I dressed up like her for a school dance once!"

The designer and the model, who attended the Met Gala together, will be joined by family and friends in an effort to raise money to fight the disease. Agyness Deyn's Sunset Song

Agyness Deyn will play the heroine in a film adaptation of Sunset Song, a 1930s novel about a woman running a family farm in the face of growing economic pressure.

Deyn's role as Chris Guthrie, the movie's female protagonist, is her first lead in a major motion picture. Terence Davies will direct the film and Peter Mullan has been cast as Deyn's costar. Filming will start later this year.

"When I read the script I fell completely in love with the character and the story," Deyn said. "I can't wait to get started and just hope that I can do Chris Guthrie justice!"

Deyn has starred in a number of short films and played Aphrodite in the 2010 movie Clash of the Titans. This Spring she landed a role in a British production of The Leisure Society. Take a look at all her roles - onscreen and off - in the gallery.

Behind the Scenes at Gisele's Fall 2012 Campaign Shoot For David Yurman

One of Gisele Bundchen's first activities as the face of David Yurman was to hang out on a beach in Malibu while Peter Lindbergh photographed her wearing Yurman's creations.

The resulting images will be used for the brand's Fall 2012 campaign, which draws on the inviting simplicity of California beaches for inspiration. Watch Bundchen pose on the beach in the video below, then take a sneak peek at the ads in the gallery.

Vidal Sassoon Dies, Chanel Taps Brad Pitt, and Piperlime's New Store

Vidal Sassoon, often referred to as the "founder of hairdressing," was found dead in his Los Angeles home on Wednesday. Sassoon was 84. His death is attributed to an unspecified illness, but he has reportedly suffered from leukemia and was diagnosed with blood cancer in 2009. [The Huffington Post]
Chanel announced that it has selected Brad Pitt to be the face of its iconic fragrance Chanel No. 5. Pitt is the first man to be selected for the position. He joins Nicole Kidman, Catherine Deneuve, Audrey Tatou, and Marilyn Monroe on the list of the scent's ambassadors. [Chanel]
Piperlime is opening its first brick-and-mortar store in New York's SoHo neighborhood. A spokesman for the Gap-owned retailer said, "The store will have a women's focus. We will have clothing and we'll be showing our disproportionate love of shoes and accessories." [Racked]
