Hilfiger, who has styled Nary Manivong's collection for the past two seasons, is teaming up with the designer to create a brand-new line, Nahm. “It’s all shirtdresses of different fabrics, lengths and cuts,” said Hilfiger, who plans to introduce the line for Fall 2011 and manufacture it entirely in New York. >> INSIDER WIRE -Now that Elle has signed on for the second season of The City, cameras are already rolling within their offices - last week, they apparently filmed a scene which included yelling in the fashion department, but editor-in-chief Robbie Myers feels like it's a good fit: “They actually blend in really well. It’s been interesting to see who embraces it and who runs from the cameras.” In the spirit of new endeavors, the magazine published two different versions of the June 2009 cover, featuring Megan Fox, as part of a test concept - one of Fox in a typical Elle pose, and one with Fox in a more provocative pose. >> Elle hired Los Angeles talent agency CAA earlier this year to help them dig up more film and television partnerships - now that Stylista is over, they no longer sponsor Project Runway, and guest stints on Ugly Betty haven't turned into anything more permanent - and it looks like the agency is working their magic. Creative director Joe Zee, who made a cameo on The City last season, is rumored to be expanding his role for the upcoming second season with a six-episode run, but an Elle rep wouldn't comment.

Diane von Furstenberg, meanwhile, who did have a decently substantial role in the show, since star Whitney Port was in her employ, looks to have put an end to her flirtation with reality TV: Whitney was passed over for a promotion at DVF, and is said to be filming scenes for the second season in the digs of previous employer People's Revolution.

She didn't appear in the trailer, and the show's star, Whitney Port, says that she's only worked with Diane once, for "about five minutes" before the DVF show at Fashion Week. Meanwhile, it looks like we'll still be seeing Whitney's ex-boss, Kelly Cutrone, on camera - she acts as a mentor to the New York transplant. [The Cut]

First Look: Diane von Furstenberg Takes On The City

>> Come Dec. 29, we'll have a new reality TV show on our hands - and Diane von Furstenberg is involved. The first trailer for The Hills's New York spinoff, The City, is out, with Whitney Port replacing Lauren Conrad as main girl and socialite Olivia Palermo filling in as supporting sidekick. Both girls are employed by Diane as part of her in-house PR, and although the designer doesn't make an appearance in the preview, the whole show is sure to be an extension of her branding, targeting the show's audience of girls looking to buy printed wrap dresses.

Magazines have caught on to the power of TV as part of their business model - Teen Vogue with The Hills, Elle with Stylista and Project Runway, Vogue with Model.Live - if Diane has as much success with this as Michael Kors has on Project Runway, there could be a lot more designers investing time in TV in the future.

>> Let it snow. For his second season at Lacoste, Felipe Oliveira Baptista hip the slopes with a collection of Alpine-ready separates. Tapping the brand's 1966 contract with the French national ski team, Baptista sent down a cohesive assortment of streamlined separates that managed to feel nostalgic and modern all at once. A series of body-skimming, zippered knits were done in red, blue, gray, and ivory colorblock; jackets and tops were cut round-shouldered and then split cape-like at the sleeve; and there was plenty of leather to be found throughout. Baptista also injected a terrific bit of print into the collection: a multicolored, hatch-like plaid - which upon closer inspection revealed itself to be the weave of a fabric magnified to the umpteenth degree. This was the kind of elegant sportswear a modern city girl could really get behind.

Designers Disappointed by CFDA's Impending Relocation

>> The CFDA has decided to move from its current location in the Garment District to a new residence in downtown Manhattan, leaving some New York designers none too pleased. "We are extremely disappointed by the CFDA's decision to leave the Garment Center," said Nanette LePore, whose husband, Bob Savage, has been a staunch proponent of the Save the Garment Center campaign. "We only hope this does not signal the end of their previous support for New York City manufacturing and emerging American designers."

For its part, the CFDA has stressed that the decision has nothing to do with a lack of support for the Garment District, a neighborhood the CFDA has always championed. "We are not abandoning anything," The CFDA's chief executive officer, Steven Kolb, told WWD. "We considered buildings in the Garment District significantly in our search. The criteria by which we were finding space was ultimately based not on neighborhood, but what the best space for a functioning office for the CFDA was." Kolb went on to say that the Council had outgrown its current space, adding "we are busting out of the seams."

CFDA President Diane von Furstenberg echoed the sentiment: "We needed a very large space so we can have board meetings and clinics there. We found a great space with a great deal, and that's that. We looked for a long time." Von Furstenberg added that she will always think of the CFDA as "the soul of the Garment District."

The CFDA has signed a 10-year lease at its new location at Bleecker Street and Broadway, with plans to move this Summer.

There was the Jason Wu For Target event in New York, where Blake Lively shined in two-tone Wu; there was the second premiere of Madonna's film, W.E, for which the megastar donned a gorgeous Marchesa; and there was the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, where Kate Bosworth and Emma Roberts stole the red carpet show. However, nowhere offered more head-turning ensembles than the Spring 2012 couture presentations in Paris, where best-dressed veterans Diane Kruger, Daphne Guinness, Jessica Chastain - and more - looked ever so chic sitting front row.

Elizabeth Olsen Says Her Sisters Don't Dress Her

In a recent interview, the star of the upcoming films Red Lights and Liberal Arts opened up about her favorite designers: "Definitely Marni and Céline"; her penchant for Proenza: "I wore an orange floral Proenza Schouler dress that I was, like, obsessed with to the W magazine pre-Golden Globes party"; and her current wardrobe go-tos: "I always wear leather pants - always from The Row."

But does Olsen ever ask her famous sisters for styling advice? "It's funny to be asked that because I don't live with them, and they don't dress me. Like, I'm an adult," she explains.

The Chicest Looks From Sundance

Though the weather provided plenty of opportunities for bundled-up Winter looks, there were just as many dressier moments to be had as well: Emma wore a body-con floral Topshop dress to the Celeste and Jesse Forever dinner, while Kate - in town for the premiere of her new film Black Rock - was spotted on the red carpet in a crimson, beaded Antonio Berardi number.
