Mary Alice Stephenson Tweets that Vuitton is shooting today in New York - Lara Stone has reportedly replaced Madonna for the brand, with Steven Meisel on photo duty - while Stefano Gabbana and Domenico Dolce left for New York earlier today for their ad campaign shoot - funnily enough, Madonna is said to be on Dolce & Gabbana menswear duty this upcoming season. >> Steven Meisel seems to have temporarily moved on from his usual just-signed-model cover fare for Vogue Italia to women with a little more life experience - 42-year-old Kristen McMenamy was on the cover and heavily featured in the July 2009 issue, and now, for the August 2009, it's all about 44-year-old Linda Evangelista, whose image is juxtaposed on the cover with the phrase "refined style."

We've only got clues - no names - about who will be the September multiple cover stars - but the tradition will be carried on in that issue by 41-year-old Daphne Guinness, who was photographed by Steven Klein in July for a 20-plus-page editorial based on a 60's cult French film that she promises will be "darker and moodier. A new side of me.”

>> Kristen McMenamy has been resurrected on and off for the past few years since her heyday in the '90s, making an appearance on the Spring 2008 Givenchy runway and in the Fall 2006 Marc Jacobs campaign, and now Steven Meisel has brought the her back for the July 2009 cover of Vogue Italia and an accompanying 31-page spread dubbed "The Legend." For anyone, a Vogue Italia cover is a score, but it's not every day that Meisel - who generally likes to go with green talent for the magazine - picks a 42-year-old, nearly two decade fashion veteran.

>> Louis Vuitton's "Part Deux" Fall 2009 campaign with Madonna started leaking last week, and now three more of the set have appeared. The first image earned a plethora of comments like "the star - captured by Steven Meisel and 23 psychedelic Photoshop layers - sort of looks like a marble statue" and "I think the retoucher might deserve more recognition than the photographer in this instance"; those who agree aren't going to be pleased with the new images, as they are very similar in nature. And there's still no sign of the rumored video.

"Pornographic" Calvin Klein Jeans Billboard Replaced, Doutzen Kroes Celebrates

>> Calvin Klein - no stranger to pornographic epithets when it comes to their advertising - stirred up a little scandal last week when a still from the steamy Spring 2009 Calvin Klein Jeans commercial shot by Steven Meisel - which has been banned from US television - appeared on a Soho billboard in New York.

The image depicts what could be interpreted as a threesome - but Francisco Costa didn't see anything wrong with it last week at the CFDA Awards: “Please! It’s so, like, old news. Don’t you think we should be a little ashamed for even having to discuss? I mean, it’s great for us. So if you want to talk about it, let’s talk about it. But there was no intention of making that controversial . . . It’s New York City! It’s the 21st century! Honey, we have to move on!"

Calvin Klein menswear designer Italo Zucchelli, too, agreed: "It's my favorite campaign ever!" But it appears that the two designers don't have the final word on their billboards: Yesterday, the image was replaced with a shot of Doutzen Kroes in a red bikini. At least one person was happy with the change - Doutzen went by the new billboard last night, took a picture of herself jumping in front of it, and posted it on Twitter: "BELIEVE IT!!!!!"
