>> Gucci, Louis Vuitton, and Dolce & Gabbana Campaigns Under Way —Last week, Gucci wrapped its Spring 2010 ad campaign shoot in Miami, with Emmanuelle Alt styling once again, and this week, it sounds like Louis Vuitton and Dolce & Gabbana are taking care of business. Mary Alice Stephenson Tweets that Vuitton is shooting today in New York — Lara Stone has reportedly replaced Madonna for the brand, with Steven Meisel on photo duty — while Stefano Gabbana and Domenico Dolce left for New York earlier today for their ad campaign shoot — funnily enough, Madonna is said to be on Dolce & Gabbana menswear duty this upcoming season. Steven Meisel
>> Rianne ten Haken, Meisel Darling Once Again —Rianne ten Haken, who appeared on her first Vogue Italia cover back in December 2003, has definitely been welcomed back into the Steven Meisel fold. After appearing on a number of top Spring 2010 runways — Proenza Schouler, Versace, Jean Paul Gaultier — with a shock of red hair, Rianne now boasts a set of back-to-back Vogue Italia covers in her portfolio. She appeared with Karlie Kloss for October 2009, but for November 2009, it's all solo. [Models.com]
Balenciaga's Full Fall 2009 Campaign, Featuring a Contortionist Jennifer Connelly, Finally Drops
>> Balenciaga has finally uploaded their entire dark, moody Fall 2009 campaign. Marie Amelie Sauve styled and Steven Meisel snapped house muse Jennifer Connelly lounging on a precariously tilting chaise and contorting on a fallen over couch.
>> Kate Moss Leads September 2009 Cover Count at Five; Anna J., Sasha, and Jamie Bochert Score September 2009 Vogue Italia Covers— Not that we're counting, but Kate Moss still has the fashion editor vote for carrying a September issues — she's scored five major September 2009 covers now, Another Magazine, V, British Vogue, Vogue Russia, and W among them. Anna Maria Jagodzinska and Sasha Pivovarova, meanwhile, remain Steven Meisel favorites: he photographed each of them — plus Jamie Bochert — for the three Vogue Italia September 2009 covers, marking their second appearances this year on the front of Franca Sozzani's book: Anna's first was January, Sasha's May. Steven Meisel, Vogue Italia Love Their Ladies Over 40: Linda Evangelista for August 2009; Daphne Guinness to Appear in September
>> Steven Meisel seems to have temporarily moved on from his usual just-signed-model cover fare for Vogue Italia to women with a little more life experience — 42-year-old Kristen McMenamy was on the cover and heavily featured in the July 2009 issue, and now, for the August 2009, it's all about 44-year-old Linda Evangelista, whose image is juxtaposed on the cover with the phrase "refined style."
We've only got clues — no names — about who will be the September multiple cover stars — but the tradition will be carried on in that issue by 41-year-old Daphne Guinness, who was photographed by Steven Klein in July for a 20-plus-page editorial based on a 60's cult French film that she promises will be "darker and moodier. A new side of me.”
>> Steven Meisel, Kristen McMenamy Reteam for Lanvin Fall 2009 —When Steven Meisel reteamed with Kristen McMenamy for the July 2009 Vogue Italia cover and a 31-page editorial called "The Legend," he wasn't done. The pair worked together again for Lanvin's Fall 2009 campaign, the first image of which paints Kristen as a petrified woman, surrounded by black cats. [TFS]

Kristen McMenamy Storms Back for July 2009 Vogue Italia
>> Kristen McMenamy has been resurrected on and off for the past few years since her heyday in the '90s, making an appearance on the Spring 2008 Givenchy runway and in the Fall 2006 Marc Jacobs campaign, and now Steven Meisel has brought the her back for the July 2009 cover of Vogue Italia and an accompanying 31-page spread dubbed "The Legend." For anyone, a Vogue Italia cover is a score, but it's not every day that Meisel — who generally likes to go with green talent for the magazine — picks a 42-year-old, nearly two decade fashion veteran.

More Super 'Shopped Madonna for the Fall 2009 Louis Vuitton Campaign
>> Louis Vuitton's "Part Deux" Fall 2009 campaign with Madonna started leaking last week, and now three more of the set have appeared. The first image earned a plethora of comments like "the star — captured by Steven Meisel and 23 psychedelic Photoshop layers — sort of looks like a marble statue" and "I think the retoucher might deserve more recognition than the photographer in this instance"; those who agree aren't going to be pleased with the new images, as they are very similar in nature. And there's still no sign of the rumored video.
>> More Details, First Image of Fall 2009 Madonna for Louis Vuitton Campaign Leak —What is being called "Part Deux" of Madonna's run at Louis Vuitton — for Fall 2009 — was photographed by Steven Meisel on April 24, as confirmed by Madonna's manager, and consists of at least seven images of Madonna in long boots and gloves, a few dresses mainly in blue and magenta, the bunny ears atop her head, holding a different bag in each shot. She leans on a sofa or is seated in an armchair with a curtain in the background, and apparently there's a video, too. [MadonnaTribe, TFS]
"Pornographic" Calvin Klein Jeans Billboard Replaced, Doutzen Kroes Celebrates
>> Calvin Klein — no stranger to pornographic epithets when it comes to their advertising — stirred up a little scandal last week when a still from the steamy Spring 2009 Calvin Klein Jeans commercial shot by Steven Meisel — which has been banned from US television — appeared on a Soho billboard in New York.
The image depicts what could be interpreted as a threesome — but Francisco Costa didn't see anything wrong with it last week at the CFDA Awards: “Please! It’s so, like, old news. Don’t you think we should be a little ashamed for even having to discuss? I mean, it’s great for us. So if you want to talk about it, let’s talk about it. But there was no intention of making that controversial . . . It’s New York City! It’s the 21st century! Honey, we have to move on!"

Calvin Klein menswear designer Italo Zucchelli, too, agreed: "It's my favorite campaign ever!" But it appears that the two designers don't have the final word on their billboards: Yesterday, the image was replaced with a shot of Doutzen Kroes in a red bikini. At least one person was happy with the change — Doutzen went by the new billboard last night, took a picture of herself jumping in front of it, and posted it on Twitter: "BELIEVE IT!!!!!"
