>> Spring 2009 campaigns may be overrun with supermodels, but two younger, less-established models are giving them a run for their campaign money: Toni Garrn and Anna Maria Jagodzinska.

17-year-old German model Toni - who Art + Commerce called the "undisputed First Lady of Advertising Campaigns" for the season - broke onto the scene with a worldwide runway exclusive to Calvin Klein in September 2007, followed by an only-girl campaign for the brand; 21-year-old Polish model Anna Maria is a Steven Meisel favorite who has been around since 2003, took a break from modeling for two years in 2006, only came back with a smash in 2008. Between the two of them they have at least twenty Spring 2009 ad campaigns, including Balenciaga, Fendi, Gianfranco Ferre, and joint campaigns for Prada and Chloe. Their ad currency is strong, and it's worth noting that so many brands still think blondes are where the money is.

In the past, the label's campaigns have been much more forward-thinking - Natasha Poly rocking out in sea spray for Fall 2008, Karlie Kloss and Courtney Smerski going abstract for Spring 2008 - but judging about this first image, Spring 2009 is all about that newly-expanded accessories collection. How else are we supposed to interpret Lachlan Bailey's studio shots of Natalia Vodianova, N and R charms plainly in view?

His first ever campaign, with Karmen Pedaru set against a beach simulated at Pier 59 in New York, symbolizes his philosophy that "this is not a moment to be scared or meek." Solve Sundbo did the photog honors Tuesday - outtake from the shoot above - and the final product, which hits August issues, is expected to be "bold and cinematic, with lush techno color." [WWD]

Marc Jacobs, too, is sticking with a formula at Louis Vuitton, pairing Madonna and Steven Meisel for the second season, but for his own label, it sounds like he's forgoing a celebrity face in favor of multiple models. >> I don't know what's changed with Frankie Rayder's life lately, but I do know one thing: She's back. Not only is she being lensed for an unnamed September "extravaganza of an editorial," she's also popped up in two major Fall campaigns.

She joins Kate Moss in headlining Stella McCartney's Fall 2008 campaign, shot by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin at Kate's country house in Gloucestershire, England. Meanwhile, she replaces Kate, who was Roberto Cavalli's Spring 2008 campaign girl, in the Cavalli Fall 2008 ads along with Angela Lindvall, Raquel Zimmermann, and Isabeli Fontana.

Maybe we owe the pleasure of seeing Frankie again to Inez and Vinoodh? They also did the Cavalli campaign . . . We'll know for sure if they photographed this mysterious September editorial in which Frankie has been cast.

>> ON THE CAMPAIGN TRAIL -It's been a couple of seasons since a model held a Balenciaga ad campaign - Charlotte Gainsbourg did Fall 2008, Jennifer Connelly did Spring 2008 - but it seems like Spring 2009 may bring the winds of change. According to an anonymous commenter, "there's nothing going on at the Balenciaga campaign casting that would suggest 'safe' and 'sellable.' There's a wonderful cast brewing there . . ." The use of the word "cast" seems to imply more than one girl, too, no? [TI]
