>> On Saturday, Maryna Linchuk was down to her skivvies, but she shows an entirely different side in the Sofia Coppola-directed Miss Dior Cherie commercial.  It originally debuted on TV last week, but for all of you who missed it — here's your chance to see.

>> Sofia Coppola has been working on her capsule collection of shoes and handbags for Louis Vuitton for the past year, and they won't be on sale until next Spring, but at least we can have a look at one of the finished products now.

Inspired by a trip to Louis Vuitton's original home in Asnieres, on the outskirts of Paris, Sofia wanted to design "the perfect bag that doesn't exist."  The result? A "chic, discreet and lightweight [bag] that isn't enormous" — the SC bag, shown at left in calf leather, $2,190 for the monogram version; an evening clutch ($1,086) with pochette containing a mirror — "a thing I wanted for myself; and a gilded wedge ankle-strap sandal ($679) based on her mother's Yves Saint Laurent shoes in the 1970s among them.

And to answer the question on everyone's lips — will Sofia be returning to the fashion business with a new, full-fledged clothing line?  "I wouldn't say never, but I don't have patience to learn all the details — know about proportions.  Clothing is so nonstop. What I love about films is that you can take the summer off."

>> Although Marc Jacobs hinted that he might be putting a hold on all the Louis Vuitton collaborations a couple of months ago, it looks like he's not ready to follow through with that just yet.  The brand is moving from its last collaboration — the avant-garde designs of Rei Kawakubo — to work with someone on a whole different plane: Marc's close friend Sofia Coppola.

Sofia will be working on a range of shoes and handbags — to be sold worldwide — for the brand, putting that design experience she earned interning at Chanel and starting up Japanese line Milk Fed to good use.

There is no official confirmation, other than this photo has the coloring of an Annie Leibovitz shot, the right people framed in it, and the requisite Louis Vuitton monogram tote in plain view. 

When asked why she agreed to be in the newest wave of the campaign, Sofia replied: "I liked the ad Annie shot with Keith Richards. It was flattering to be asked. Plus I've known Marc Jacobs since I was 18." 

And that's that.
