Anna Wintour Front Row Cheats on Roger Federer with Gerard Butler

>> While her favorite front row companion Roger Federer is playing his way to another Wimbledon title, Anna Wintour has been joined at Milan Men's Fashion Week by another leading man: Gerard Butler. The two have been spotted enjoying each others' company throughout the week at Burberry Prorsum, Dolce & Gabbana, the Tom Ford Boutique opening, and most notably the Versace Party on Saturday.

Roger doesn't have to worry too much, though, Anna made her inaugural trip to Milan Men's Fashion Week in part to attend a Men's Vogue event in honor of Gerard (and to scout the location for a Vogue photo exhibit next February). She's not planning on attending the Paris legs of the men's shows, so I wouldn't be surprised if she made a stop at Wimbledon before hitting couture week.

Anna Wintour Left Jason Wu's Show to Go Watch Roger Federer Play

>> Yesterday, Anna Wintour arrived to take in Jason Wu's Cruise 2010 show at the Greenwich Hotel in New York, but took a phone call and left four minutes before the show started, leaving Wu's publicist confused. A Vogue staffer told Fashion Week Daily: “She had a plane to catch. But she saw Jason’s entire collection earlier and really liked what she was looking at.” Today, she showed up in Paris with boyfriend Shelby Bryan to watch her favorite athlete Roger Federer try to win the elusive French Open. Maybe she'll be meeting Bee Shaffer, who was in Venice yesterday, at some point?

Fashion's Night Out's Fashion Show Featured a Dancing Gisele, a Rapping Pharrell, and a Whole Lot of Designer Duds

>> The audience at tonight's Fashion's Night Out fashion show wasn't limited to the 1,500 ticket-holders - crowds gathered behind police barricades across the street from the Lincoln Center Plaza for a glimpse of New York City's largest fashion show. Those who were lucky enough to nab tickets to the show were treated to a concentric-circled runway setup, with rows no more than two deep. Not only that, but among the audience was a large smattering of designers - Tory Burch, Tommy Hilfiger, Diane von Furstenberg, Jenna Lyons, Michael Kors, Alexander Wang, Jason Wu, Phillip Lim, Vera Wang, Francisco Costa, and Donna Karan among them; models - Lauren Hutton, Bar Rafaeli, Elettra Rossellini Wiedemann; and other industry figures, including Anna Wintour, with favorites Blake Lively and Roger Federer next to her, and Si Newhouse himself. Bee Shaffer arrived 45 minutes early to the event, holding hands with boyfriend Jake Hurwitz.

Anna Wintour's fears that the show, scheduled to start at 7:30 pm, would begin late were unmerited - it started on the dot with Alicia Keys's "Empire State of Mind" playing on the loudspeaker as spotlights searched the audience and the fountain in the center of the setup rose and then fell.

As the audience looked for Gisele Bundchen, set to open the show's 171 looks, a Fashion's Night Out doubledecker bus pulled up next to the Plaza, carrying Bundchen, Angela Lindvall, Karolina Kurkova, Coco Rocha, Lily Donaldson, Lara Stone, Jourdan Dunn, Caroline Trentini, Sasha Pivovarova, Adriana Lima, Chanel Iman, and Karlie Kloss, each dressed in a Fashion's Night Out tee paired with a long ballgown skirt and heels. The twelve models dismounted the bus one by one, forming a line in front of the Plaza steps as the rest of the 150 model cast filled in behind them.

Gisele leading the way, the twelve openers made their way around the fountain, soon followed by groups of models clipping by showcasing "Fifties Flair," "Tartan Twist," "Rock Chic," "Go Global," and "Jazz-Age Cool." Each group wormed their way around the circular runway, the models coming in quick succession, highly choreographed and sometimes stopping and turning. A few were suffering from their heels by the end - Rose Cordero and Heidi Mount among them - and those in the "Weekend Wrap-Up" group, all swathed in capes and jackets, had sweat rolling from their temples after all the parading, thanks to the humid Indian Summer air.

Pharrell Williams popped up on the center fountain to close the extravaganza in a surprise performance, and Gisele and the rest of the openers paraded and danced back to the bus, this time in full-on designer gowns, with Naomi Campbell in the finale spot. As Pharrell joined them, he encouraged the audience - ticketed and not - to shop New York, because after all, that was the whole point of this 15-minute shindig. So will it work?

The Word on Prada Spring 2010

>> The Spring 2010 Prada show is starting shortly, and already details are rolling in. The set evokes black-and-white film stills, and the show is apparently all about the beach, with silk palm tree and beach scene-printed mini shorts and jackets, clear jeweled jelly shoes and dresses, and low side ponytails and glossy red lips.

Donna Karan Spring 2010: Natural, Neutral, and With a Side of Vivid Coral

>> Before the finale march, Anna Wintour ducked out at Donna Karan to hightail it to Queens and Roger Federer's guest box for the US Open men's title match. But she stuck around long enough to catch Donna's "urban atmosphere," as the designer put it to WWD, adding that she was "inspired by the power of the elements - the sky, water, wind, sand, earth, and fire" in her show notes. Karan's signature draped jersey was out in full force in all shades of neutrals, and the clothes felt very of the moment - meaning the moment many women are currently feeling to invest in solid, wearable, classic pieces rather than be tempted by those transient, of-the-moment-or-maybe-the-season-if-you're-lucky pieces.

The show was held in Karan's downtown studio space, which ended up packed to the gills, and Milla Jovovich sat front row. Charlotte di Calypso, who's not having good luck with her accessories this week - yesterday her belt popped open at Derek Lam - glided by at one point, adjusting her Stephen Jones hat all the way around her loop, to keep it from falling off her head.

Marc Jacobs Goes Japanese Femme, Brings Back a Couple of Celebrities for Spring 2010

>> In a show venue like the inside of a lab - white walls and floor, white benches, and bright, bright lights - which caused for a sweltering experience - Marc Jacobs sent out his theater and romance-inspired Spring 2010 collection. Anna Wintour arrived twenty minutes early from the US Open - she ended up missing Roger Federer lose - and despite rumors that the show was to be celeb-free, Madonna and Jesus Luz took their seats and Lady Gaga, arriving mid-show, stood in the photographer's pit with Lorenzo Martone. Marc later told WWD that he hadn't invited either, but Madonna called three hours before the show - "after working with her [on the Louis Vuitton campaign] I couldn't say no" - and same goes for Gaga, who is performing at Marc and V Magazine's party tonight.

Jessica Stam and Suvi Koponen both walked for the first time this Fashion Week - in fact, instead of breaking new faces as his usually does, Marc stuck mostly to the familiars: Iris Strubegger opened, Kamila Filipcikova closed. The girls had on geisha-style makeup and topknots, and there was lots of femininity - pearl embellishments, lingerie layered over suits, ruffles - and a few surprises - scrunchies and kitten keels, for instance. Anna Wintour Follows Federer to Miami

She showed up in Miami for the Sony Ericsson Open with son Charlie Shaffer, dining with her favorite player and then taking his third round match in yesterday. But she didn't have eyes solely for Federer: she and Charlie were out to support Andy Murray at his match Saturday. Daughter Bee Shaffer wasn't able to join the excursion, but she was spotted out in New York last Thursday for the opening of Exit the King on Broadway.

Fashion's Night Out Will Bring Anna Wintour To Queens, Hamish Bowles To Juicy Couture, and the Olsens To Bartend at Barneys

>> The roster of events for Anna Wintour's international shopping extravaganza on Sept. 10, Fashion's Night Out, has been rolled out, and as Anna put it in the press release: “Little did I think when the idea of Fashion’s Night Out was first dreamed up this past March during the Paris collections that we would have over 700 and counting retailers, designers, and brands joining us on the night of September 10. There is so much planned that we could shop till dawn and still not see and do everything.”

Wintour kicks everything off, along with Michael Kors and "a surprise celebrity guest," at Macy's Queen Center location at 5 pm and will sign t-shirts for the first 50 customers. That event just so happens to be ten minutes away from a US Open tennis match Roger Federer will likely play that same day at 7 pm (and thus Anna will likely attend).
