>> INSIDER WIRE —Now that Elle has signed on for the second season of The City, cameras are already rolling within their offices — last week, they apparently filmed a scene which included yelling in the fashion department, but editor-in-chief Robbie Myers feels like it's a good fit: “They actually blend in really well.  It’s been interesting to see who embraces it and who runs from the cameras.”  In the spirit of new endeavors, the magazine published two different versions of the June 2009 cover, featuring Megan Fox, as part of a test concept — one of Fox in a typical Elle pose, and one with Fox in a more provocative pose. >> Isabel Toledo may have shelled out for that lemongrass fabric she used to make Michelle Obama's inaugural day dress — it rings in at $500 a yard — but it's Jason Wu who will be reaping the Fashion Week benefits of an Obama nod.

In fact, Wu's show "might be the hottest ticket in town" — right after Marc Jacobs — according to The New York Observer.  Elle is sending seven more staffers than it did to Wu's Spring 2009 show — including editor-in-chief Robbie Myers, creative director Joe Zee, and style director Kate Lanphear.  Bergdorf Goodman is bringing its entire buying team, in addition to fashion director Linda Fargo and senior women's fashion director Roopal Patel, who attended last season.  Anna Wintour is sure to attend again, especially since she was already front row for the Spring 2009 show.

>> This week's New York Magazine profile exploring the inner workings of Elle has editor-in-chief Roberta Myers less than pleased.

The article, written by former Jezebel editor and current Gawker employee Maureen "Moe" Tkacik, tends to portray current Elle employees like Myers, international creative director Gilles Bensimon, creative director Joe Zee, and fashion news director Anne Slowey in a less positive light than former fashion director Nina Garcia.  At one point, Tkacik writes that Myers had a "lack of jurisdiction over the fashion department," and at another point she reports on the power struggle between Gilles Bensimon and Myers:

Bensimon wanted little to do with [Myers]. In photos from the rare occasions they would attend shows together, his expression is dour. He saw Myers as ambitious, insecure and overly American; she saw him as an overpaid, out-of-control spendthrift who was losing his touch.
