Patricia Field Launches House of Field Swimwear and Accessories With Rooftop Party

Patricia Field presented a collection of swimwear for House of Field on a New York city rooftop Tuesday night, the day after her Radio City red carpet appearance for the Sex and the City 2 premiere. Field had guests sipping drinks poured from limited edition SATC bottles of Skyy vodka (although the cast was not present), while mannequins and models showed off House of Field swimwear and accessories. “It’s beachwear to look gorgeous in, to create a sensation around the pool in,” Field said. Adding that the suits (priced from $90 to $150) can actually get wet.

Fashion in 50 Seconds 05/27/10 Marc's Hair Transplant, Louis Vuitton's Banned Ads

While celebrating the new Louis Vuitton store in London, Marc Jacobs admits to having had a recent hair transplant.

Speaking of Louis Vuitton, the British Advertising Authority has banned two of the brand's advertisements for intimating factory-made handbags were actually produced by hand.

Patricia Field offers her point of view on important fashion choices from Sex and the City 2, including Carrie's $50,000 karaoke outfit.

Giles Deacon talks about taking the reigns at Ungaro and the differences between the Parisian house and his namesake collection: "I don’t want any blurring. My own line is more subversive. In Ungaro-land, things are a little more obvious. I like the instantness of those clothes, but the world of challenge for me is getting that other kind of lightness and softness. My own things tend to be a little bit harder."

Sarah Jessica Parker Wears Halston Heritage Six Times in Sex and the City Sequel

Midway through production on Sex and the City 2, Sarah Jessica Parker was appointed president and chief creative officer of Halston Heritage. Stylist Patricia Field estimates Parker supports Halston by wearing at least six dresses from the Heritage collection throughout the film-including the white jersey dress from the movie campaign (above left) and two versions of the pleated gown worn by Parker to the Costume Institute gala at the Met earlier this month (above right). However, Pat Field doesn't attribute all that Halston love to Parker's new job, “I was just personally a little bit tired of all of these exaggerated, artificial shapes on clothing,” said Field of working on the SATC sequel. “Shoulders pointed out to there and skirts that look ballooned. I was just feeling - desiring - like, chic simplicity. And so I had turned to Halston.”

If shooting her Fall 2009 look book in The Chelsea Hotel isn't evidence enough, the fact that Iranian designer Haleh Nematzadeh lives on the Bowery should efficiently communicate her design aesthetic. In other words, for Haleh, it's all about rock-and-roll. Having studied at FIT and, upon graduation, landed a gig with Patricia Field, by 2008 Haleh was ready to launch her namesake line. We're off to press previews and store openings but not before we pass along a little tip sheet from our Network Partners!

Girl Woman Beauty Brains reviewed an anti-aging bionic serum and it made her skin really soft! We say bonus points for the brilliant green bottle.

Fashionologie pointed out the, ahem, tension between Alexander McQueen, Topshop, and Target and also gave up some added details to the Target Designer Collaboration project being launched in Isaac Mizrahi's wake.

Fasshonaburu found a cute cropped faux fur coat for twenty eight dollars, to which we say...only at Patricia Field.

...and Style Bite reviewed the Spring 2009 collection by a stylist cum accessories designer, who goes by Cheek-ie. Her website is also worth a peek (left).

If there is anyone you can count on to throw a party its MAO Public Relations and Patricia Fied. Its a little before 10pm and we are rocking with a crowd at the Edison Ballroom waiting for her collection. After a hectic day nothing quite takes th edge off like club kids and drag queens. We hate to use the term fabulous since so many seem to prefer to apply it to aspirational blighted urban women but you so know that Patricia Field is fabulous. Sure we wish she hadn't given so much ammunition to all "those" women but you can't deny that this woman is a force of stylistic nature. We can't wait to see what she turns out for us tonight at Destination Style but until then we leave you with her smiling face. And no we can't believe we climbed on the catwalk to get it either. And you now how we feel about that sort of behavior.
