>> Monika "Jac" Jagaciak has plenty of buzz surrounding her, and scoring the Spring 2010 women’s Calvin Klein Collection campaign again - which she reteamed with David Sims in Carmel, California, for - isn't hurting. As Models.com noted, "Jac is the only girl since Natalia Vodianova to book CK two times in a row. Could Ms. Jagaciak eventually become another iconic CK face right up there with Brooke Shields and Kate Moss?" Natalia Vodianova last appeared in the Calvin Klein Collection Spring 2007 campaign.

>> ON THE CAMPAIGN TRAIL -Style.com named their top ten new models for Fall 2009 Friday, and along the way confirmed the rumor that 15-year-old Polish wunderkind Monika "Jac" Jagaciak, who couldn't walk in Paris because she was too young, would be Calvin Klein's Fall 2009 face. Apparently she scored the gig last week, and if the rest of the rumor holds true, she's a brand exclusive. [Style.com]

Fall 2009 Ad Campaign Rumors: Balenciaga, Yves Saint Laurent, and Calvin Klein

>> Just yesterday we were talking about the general direction of Fall 2009 ad campaigns and who might be the lucky girls, and already we've got some more concrete rumors.

First up, a surprise: Balenciaga is not one of the major brands to go with a single girl that was mentioned yesterday - instead, they're going with a group - of celebrities, at that - lensed by Steven Meisel. In the past seasons, Nicholas Ghesquiere has used Charlotte Gainsbourg and Jennifer Connelly - will they reprise their roles, or is he going with an entirely new look? I'm leaning toward the latter.

As for Calvin Klein, Francisco Costa is rumored to have chosen Monika "Jac" Jagaciak, one of the standout faces of the season, for the main Collection campaign - as an exclusive, just as he did with Anna Selezneva for Spring 2009. And it seems Stefano Pilati is continuing his super obsession at Yves Saint Laurent - past seasons have seen Claudia Schiffer, Naomi Campbell, and Kate Moss was just photographed for an upcoming fragrance. Now, Christy Turlington is rumored to have been shot for Fall 2009.

Speculating on Fall 2009 Campaign Season

>> For Spring 2009 more than ever, brands stuck with campaign models who guarantee a sell - supermodels like Gisele Bundchen and Kate Moss for Versace or Claudia Schiffer for Yves Saint Laurent, Daria Werbowy for Roberto Cavalli - or the classic blonde hair-blue eye combination that Toni Garrn and Anna Maria Jagodzinska's campaign sweeps represented. Also of note for the season, Prada and Balenciaga's decisions to go with big groups of models - eight and ten, respectively.

With Fall 2009 campaign season under way, it sounds like at least a couple of brands have decided to break from that latter part of last season's formula - Wayne Sterling of The Imagist reports:

"It is too early to say and too tenuous to reveal who's holding/confirming what these days but rest assured it is the striking and the extreme that seem to be filtering into the next phase. Among the buzz I picked up by some art directors is a disenchantment with the 'multiples' ideal, that concept of an army of models rocking as many of the looks from the show as possible while waving as many possible it-bags as can be crammed into a double page. Two VERY big brands have already gone 'Only Girl.'"

The most likely candidate from that description of packing the models in seems to be Prada - so does that mean Prada is one of those already-decided brands, and Miuccia's current favorite exclusive Ymre Stiekema is going to finally get a main season campaign under her belt?

Herve Leger Fall 2009: Full of Model Falls

>> It was no Prada Spring 2009, but this evening Herve Leger proved to be quite the war zone for walking models. Supposedly, two or three fell, and a number more slipped - the crowd clapped each time one got up, and Max Azria, who blamed the slippery wood runway, says he didn't care about the falls. Among the casualties, two promising new faces - 15-year-old Polish model Monica "Jac" Jagaciak, who Models.com just named among their top 10 Fall 2009 newcomers, and 17-year-old German model Karolin Wolter, who Style.com just noted as one to watch.

No images from the Gucci Fall 2011 campaign set, meanwhile, but the end product is rumored to feature four girls - two who Gucci has cast before and two who are newcomers to the label, including "that one stunning Top 10 Newcomer who all the key clients had to have," The Imagist reports.

Valentino Continues Radical Image Change with Fall 2010 Campaign Featuring Nude Models

>> Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli are driving Valentino in a "younger, more contemporary, complete and desirable" direction, according to the brand's CEO Stefano Sassi, and the Fall 2010 Valentino campaign continues that evolution. Photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott were replaced this season by David Sims, who in what is his first Valentino campaign helped the label with a "radical image change," as WWD put it, capturing Freja Beha Erichsen, Monika Jagaciak, and Tati Cotliar (below) in black and white. Each ad shows the model in two side-by-side images, one of her nude ("shocking," says WWD) and the other fully clothed.

>> Early Fall 2010 Campaign Buzz: Calvin Klein, Michael Kors to Switch It Up? -It's early on in the Fall 2010 campaign game, but a couple of interesting tidbits have already come to light. It sounds like Monika "Jac" Jagaciak's campaign exclusive with Calvin Klein Collection - which produced their Fall 2009 and Spring 2010 campaigns - is no longer, so she may not only not be the CK face for Fall 2010, she might also pop up elsewhere. Meanwhile, Carmen Kass, who has appeared in every major Michael Kors campaign since Spring 2006 (with the exception of Fall 2007, which went to Tanya Dziahileva), didn't walk the Fall 2010 Kors catwalk, and now it sounds like there's a chance she won't be in the Kors campaign this season, either. >> A few seasons ago, Jourdan Dunn made headlines as the first model of color to walk Prada in ten years; Prada is carefully casted and a coup like that can make a model's career. The same goes for Calvin Klein, except that since CK is so early on in the season, it sets the tone for the rest of the three Fashion Weeks. This afternoon, Lyndsey Scott became one of the few models of color to land in the Calvin Klein lineup - Jourdan Dunn has done the honors in recent seasons. Monika "Jac" Jagaciak bounced back from her fall at Herve Leger to both open and close; Addison Gill, Bojana Reljic, and Louis Maselis round out the chosen ones as exclusives - expect to see much more from all.

Notably, former house face Toni Garrn and current face Anna Selezneva were missing in action, but enough about models - let's not forget Francisco Costa's turn to the darker side - burned out lace patterning and pops of chartreuse keep the collection right where we want it: coveted.
