Milla Jovovich
>> Milla Jovovich to Marry in Two Weeks —No word on when Marc Jacobs is getting married this month — though he's been unusually MIA recently except for popping up in London — but Milla Jovovich has set a definitive date and place: Aug. 22 at her and fiance Paul Anderson's Hollywood home. "It's going to be small ... just ... family and close friends. It's going to be kind of like Havana/Cuban, like very California-Spanish feeling." And the former Jovovich-Hawk designer is doing her own dress: "It's very like Sharon Tate kind of 1960's mini-dress." [People]
Maison Michel Enlists Karl Lagerfeld and Crew for Fall 2009 Lookbook
>> For Fall 2009, Maison Michel, whose art director Laetitia Crahay doubles as Chanel's accessories designer, asked her other boss Karl Lagerfeld to photograph the milliner's lookbook. The result is a veritable list of Chanel favorites — Karl's muse Lady Amanda Harlech, Chanel face Heidi Mount, Karl's male model favorite of the moment Baptiste Giabiconi — and plenty of other models including Lara Stone, Angela Lindvall, Sasha Pivovarova, Erin Wasson, plus surprise appearances by Olivier Theyskens and Crahay herself, all donning the latest in Maison Michel's headgear.
Cannes Film Festival 2009: Carine Roitfeld Appearances, Chanel Movie Screenings, and Lily Cole Film Debuts
>> While fashion types are currently migrating to Venice for tomorrow's Chanel Cruise 2010 show — Karl Lagerfeld arrived Monday with Baptiste Giabiconi and his runway favorites Siri Tollerod, Heidi Mount, Liu Wen, Charlotte di Calypso, and Denisa Dvorakova are all already in town for fittings and the dinner Karl's hosting tonight — many are continuing on to the Cannes Film Festival, which opened today.
In fact, the Chanel theme carries over in Cannes — Jan Kounen’s Coco Chanel & Igor Stravinsky, starring Anna Mouglalis and Mads Mikkelsen, screens May 24, the closing day. In between now and then, Carine Roitfeld — as well as Donatella Versace and Kenneth Cole — will make her annual appearance at amfAR's Cinema Against AIDS benefit on May 21 at the Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc, which also features an exhibition by photographer Bruce Weber.

Vladimir Restoin-Roitfeld Launches First Photography Exhibit
>> Last night marked the opening of Vladimir Restoin-Roitfeld's Louis Vuitton-sponsored, curated exhibit of three photographers and close friends of his — PC Valmorbida (boyfriend of Theodora Richards), David Mushegain and Salim Langatta. Both the party and after-party at Indochine (a Roitfeld favorite) were super crowded — the latter hit capacity and saw Carine Roitfeld dancing on the restaurant's banquettes. Sister Julia, girlfriend Lily Donaldson, and godfather Mario Testino were all in attendance, as were a number of other fashion folk — Lara Stone, Erin Wasson, Gisele Bundchen. And Carine was proud of her son's current career choice — according to Vladimir, it was his parents who pushed him to move to the US — "I don't know if he will do more shows or film, but when you try to produce things, it's a hard hard job, and I'm very proud of him. I'll be very happy if he becomes successful."

Olivier Theyskens Is Still at Nina Ricci's Table
>> Although sources are saying that Puig already has a new designer lined up to take Oliver Theyskens's spot at Nina Ricci, he looked right at home at the Ricci table last night during the annual Sidaction AIDS benefit gala, right down the way from Nina Ricci president Manuel Puig. Maybe he's going to ride out his contract until October, after all? But it another fashion fixture who was on everyone's minds last night — Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, making her first appearance at a fashion event and breaking her usual ties with Dior by wearing Yves Saint Laurent as the guest of Pierre Berge.

>> THE MODELIZER — The abrupt closure of Jovovich-Hawk was a surprise, but according to Milla Jovovich, all is good in the hood. She's hardly done with designing: "Now I’m here in Paris meeting with bigger houses about doing designing for them. Unfortunately, Carmen [Hawk]’s not working with me anymore — she’s taking pictures — but I am definitely going to keep designing." Now if we could just get Jane Mayle squared away . . . [Chic Report]

Milla Jovovich reveals in the September 2008 Lucky that the contemporary line she designs with Carmen Hawk has been shuttered: "It's like, when one door closes . . . I'm in a time of rediscovery, from my career to my personal style." [Racked]
