Daisy Lowe Hits a New Campaign High

Daisy Lowe's ad currency has increased this season from Agent Provocateur and Doc Martens to include a pose in romper for DKNY Jeans, a roll in the bedsheets for Marc by Marc Jacobs - Marc thinks she's "adorable" - and a portrait in black and white for Pringle of Scotland. Maybe if she's lucky she'll catch Christopher Bailey's eye for next season - mainline Burberry is a coveted British model-only campaign, after all.

Lowe Coming Up Daisies with Spring 2009 ads

>> Daisy Lowe was recently hailed as a model who could bring the death of size zero, and designers seem to be falling into place - either that, or they're latching onto her it-girl status, and her curvier-than-the normal-model shape has nothing to do with it.

Not only has Marc Jacobs tapped her to be the face of his Spring 2009 Marc by Marc Jacobs campaign - "I think she looks adorable" - but now word is floating around that she has a DKNY campaign in the pipeline, shot by Scott "The Sartorialist" Schuman. No word on how this falls into place with another it-girl's DKNY campaign - Daisy could have DKNY and Harley Viera-Newton DKNY Jeans, vice versa, or they could be in one of the campaigns together.

Regardless, Daisy's rise from Agent Provocateur and Doc Martens ads to high fashion diffusion campaigns says something - and in these economic times, her "normal girl" customer appeal could be it.

Marc Jacobs Takes On a Blogger Muse

>> There's no doubt about it, Marc Jacobs still has BryanBoy on the brain. He named a Fall 2008 Marc Jacobs bag the "BB bag" after the blogger, and quite possibly took inspiration for one of Victoria Beckham's Spring 2008 MJ ads from BryanBoy's shopping bag antics. Now, after seeing the Fall 2008 Marc by Marc Jacobs ads, the resemblance to BryanBoy's look is uncanny.

Male model Cole Mohr shot both the MxMJ menswear and womenswear campaigns with Juergen Teller in Texas, but it's the womenswear ads that are really BryanBoy-inspired — the pint-sized Filipino blogger is well-known to wear womens' clothes, including mini dresses and handbags, big sunglasses, and have his boyish haircut sideswept just like Cole's. Only the release of the full campaign will confirm it, but like I said — there's no doubt in my mind that Cole was BryanBoy-ed.
