>> Olivier Zahm, the man who recently described his trademark look as "a disguise" — "five or six years ago, I decided to wear this kind of outfit and behave as if I were a celebrity. It’s not out of narcissism. It’s for the magazine. For an independent magazine to exist, I had to incarnate it personally" — has been busy with projects other than Purple Fashion lately. He and art director Alex Wiederin have been working together "on Carine Roitfeld's book" — no further details given, and he's also "art directed and designed" the first issue of 31 Rue Cambon, a Chanel magazine — which seems to be in a similar vein as Yves Saint Laurent's Manifesto — to be distributed worldwide in Chanel stores. Featured, of course, are Chanel favorites like Lara Stone, Baptiste Giabiconi, and Freja Beha Erichsen.

>> Lara Stone was photographed by Mario Testino for the December 2009 cover of Vogue UK — all in a day's work for the frequent cover girl — but it's inside the magazine that she really gets down to business, revealing for the first time publicly that she spent four weeks earlier this year in rehab. "I am a complete alcoholic. It used to be so easy to say to someone, 'Get me a bottle of vodka,' and they'd run and get it. Going to rehab was the best decision I ever made. The last six months have been the best of my life." A week after she left rehab, she was back in the game, attending the Costume Institute Gala in early May with Alexander Wang. "I sat there all night in complete shock. I didn't say a word."
She's been doing the model rounds for ten years, since she was 15, but says that even back when she was 16 and in Paris, drugs weren't a problem. "I'd already tried everything in Holland. Anyway, I never wanted to be that model on drugs, the sort who gives head for a line of coke."
She pushed another model down the stairs »

>> Roberto Cavalli Spring 2010 Ad Cast Revealed; Daisy Lowe for Louis Vuitton? — Spring 2010 campaign cast details continue to flood in. Isabeli Fontana Tweeted this morning, "Exciting news! I shot the new Cavalli campaign with Carolyn Murphy. The campaign was shot by Steven Meisel." And causing a little campaign confusion: WWD heard Lara Stone is the new face of Louis Vuitton, but now word is Daisy Lowe is shooting in Miami for the brand next week. >> Gucci, Louis Vuitton, and Dolce & Gabbana Campaigns Under Way —Last week, Gucci wrapped its Spring 2010 ad campaign shoot in Miami, with Emmanuelle Alt styling once again, and this week, it sounds like Louis Vuitton and Dolce & Gabbana are taking care of business. Mary Alice Stephenson Tweets that Vuitton is shooting today in New York — Lara Stone has reportedly replaced Madonna for the brand, with Steven Meisel on photo duty — while Stefano Gabbana and Domenico Dolce left for New York earlier today for their ad campaign shoot — funnily enough, Madonna is said to be on Dolce & Gabbana menswear duty this upcoming season. >> Inspired by Marie Antoinette's Petit Hameau farm at Versailles and the fact that he spent part of his childhood on a farm — "You hear a lot about the environment these days. I thought it would be interesting to put a fashion twist on it" — Karl Lagerfeld sent his parade of Chanel models stomping through dirt starting at the sound of a rooster's crow.
Guests sat on burlap aged to look mildewed as the high heel-clogged (Lagerfeld called them 5 o'clock clogs), fake tattooed, wicker basket-carrying girls stepped one by one from a giant haystack. The barnyard set took a month and a half of construction beforehand and then a week to assemble at the Grand Palais, where the show was held. Apparently pigs were supposed to be involved, too, but Heidi Mount Twittered that they were too scared to be in the show. Chanel face Lily Allen and mock band popped up through a trap door in the floor — Iekeliene Stange and Charlotte di Calypso provided backup singing — and Freja Beha Erichsen and Baptiste Giabiconi walked the runway four times together.
The last time, they were joined by Lara Stone as bride, and all "fell upon each other in the hay as Karl walked past to bow" — in jeans, no less — while Freja and Lara shared a kiss.

>> Lara Stone Wants to Change Figure, May Sit Out Milan —Lara Stone walked for the first time this season yesterday at Christopher Kane, where she said that she isn't sure if she'll be walking in Milan, but she'll definitely be in Paris because "it's like going home." And curiously, she's working to change her career-boosting figure: "I don’t want to be the fat one anymore, so I have just started doing pilates every morning, then going to the gym, running and swimming." >> A few days ago, Christopher Kane dropped an image of a doll he did over the summer as a hint at his Spring 2010 collection, adding that he channeled it "not in the literal sense, but more of a feeling." To a front row of Natalia Vodianova with Anna Wintour and Topshop's Sir Philip Green squeezed between Donatella Versace and Allegra Beck Versace, the end product came out all gauzy gingham in black and pastel colors, symmetrical front slits up to there, and Swarovski embellished floral brocade.
Jenny Shimizu walked in a tailored suit apparently made in collaboration with Savile Row tailors Norton & Sons; Lara Stone, who skipped New York Fashion Week altogether, made her first runway appearance of the day — her second was at Jaeger. And Kane, a self-professed fan of television, sent everyone home with a Gossip Girl season two DVD in their gift bags.

>> Models Missing from the New York Runways: An Update —With only one more day of New York Fashion Week to go, a number of top models still haven't set foot on a catwalk. Anja Rubik finally appeared at Michael Kors this morning — so did Carmen Kass and Jacquetta Wheeler — but Catherine McNeil — who is supposedly booked all through the New York shows on another job — Toni Garrn, Lara Stone, Anna Maria Jagodzinska, Sigrid Agren — who's rumored not to be doing any shows this season — Tanya Dziahileva, Raquel Zimmermann, and Georgina Stojiljkovic are all totally MIA. In other modeling news, Jessica Stam joined the increasingly large number of models bleaching their hair — she debuted the new hue today at Anna Sui. [Fashin]

>> Official day three of New York Fashion Week is over, and still no sign on the runway of usual heavyweights Raquel Zimmermann, Anja Rubik, and Lara Stone — even at shows where they're most likely to be in, like Rag & Bone or Alexander Wang. It seems that Raquel may not be walking in New York — her agency DNA didn't publish a showcard for her, but she's definitely in town — she was all over the place Sept. 10 for Fashion's Night Out.
Lara and Anja, meanwhile, both attended Fashion's Night Out at Burberry in London, not New York. They do, however, each have a showcard for New York, so maybe they're being saved for later on in the week? If they're coming back stateside, that is . . .

>> Before she returns to the catwalk later this month, Lara Stone is guest curating a selection of wares from both newcomers and established designers for Not Just A Label's online store THE SHOP. The pieces she handpicked represent plenty of her favorite dark color — she "wants comfortable clothes to wear between jobs, mostly black and lots of hoodies," she told The Moment — plus a little orange for her Dutch heritage. They will be available starting tomorrow through the month of September.
