>> L'Wren Scott's "Tea Time" collection for Fall 2012 may have culled influence from early 20th century England - but the result was thoroughly now. Silhouettes were curve-conscious and hit just below the knee, while draped or ruffled necklines provided a hint of structure. Fabrics, too, were romantic, rich - and incredibly luxe. There was claret velvet, printed silk, and pony hair, many of which came lightly beaded or trimmed with fox fur. A saturated palette of olive, yellow, red, and berry injected just the right amount of quirk. "The L’Wren Scott girl is still irreverent and has a hard edge," the designer explained.

CFDA Inducts 26 New Members for 2010, Including L'Wren Scott and Sophie Theallet

>> Wednesday evening, Vera Wang moved almost all of the furniture out of her vast Park Avenue apartment to toast this year's 26 new CFDA inductees. “It may not be as big as Donna Karan’s loft, but I can fit you all in,” Wang said of her duplex, which she estimated was hosting 300 guests. Tommy Hilfiger and wife Dee Ocleppo were impressed, however - The Cut caught them exclaiming: “It's amazing. The kitchen is sick. Our kitchen is like, a tenth of that size. That's like a restaurant kitchen.”

The new members include: Waris Ahluwalia - who said of the honor, “I feel like I almost should put this on my passport as my fashion visa. Why Didn't Rick Owens Attend the Costume Institute Gala, Despite Being Invited and In Town?

>> Rick Owens has been in New York two times in the last seven years, by his estimation, once for his store opening in 2008 and again now for a week. He prefers to stay in a four-hour travel radius of his Paris home, and didn't travel for recent store openings in Seoul or Tokyo.

Although Owens has been staying at the Bowery Hotel since Sunday, he didn't attend the Costume Institute Gala, despite being invited, for "reasons he’d rather not discuss," WWD reports. He did hit up Mick Jagger and L'Wren Scott's after party at The Carlyle, however.

>> L'Wren Scott Prepping Brand for Growth -Although she says it's too early to talk specifics, L'Wren Scott confirmed recently that she's positioning her brand, which focuses on dresses in the $1,500 to $3,000 range), for growth. A website that will eventually include e-commerce is in the works (the label is currently sold at CoutureLab.com and Net-a-Porter) and she would also like to open stores - “bricks and mortar are very important in getting your vision across” - and expand into the contemporary market. There's also a project with Lancome being hammered out. Scott currently owns 100 percent of the label, but she says she would consider changing that should the right investor come along. [WWD]

Alexander Wang Takes His Spring 2010 After Party to a Gas Station

>> Alexander Wang may have changed up his collection's look for Spring 2010, but he's not about to lose his street cred. He partnered with Katie Grand and LOVE, rented out a Mobil gas station last night, and brought a crowd - which included Trish Goff, Daphne Guinness, L'Wren Scott, Erin Wasson, Vanessa Traina, plus fellow designers Esteban Cortazar and Gareth Pugh.

Despite the fact that the station's gas tanks were drained yesterday afternoon and the venue drenched with nonflammable suds, cigarettes were verboten; nicotine-dependent guests were constantly reminded with "Please stop smoking!" announcements. To take their minds off those forbidden cigarette, there were performances by both Courtney Love, who told the audience she received (ironically) a carton of cigarettes and a pair of shoes to play, and Santigold; plus guests had a free run of anything in the station's convenience store: Bee Shaffer took advantage of the candy aisle.

Alexander, for his part, seemed to be enjoying himself - he chatted up Lily Donaldson and Frankie Rayder, got down with Hanne Gaby Odiele (below), and jumped onstage and into Courtney Love's arms during her performance.
