>> Hussein Chalayan admits that he's a "designer's designer," which is probably why he told WWD he's "weirded out by" models-turned-designers. This isn't anything new — in February of last year, he informed the Independent UK that he found Kate Moss designing "kind of insulting . . . because it's like saying — and I don't mean this personally — 'I can sell more clothes off my name, off my brand, than you can, even though you're a better designer.' "  

He seems to have lightened his feelings on Kate specifically, and now says he views her Topshop line as credible, but he's still not totally convinced: “I don’t think it represented her, and I didn’t think she worked hard enough. I even told her to her face.” Her response, as he recalls, was: "‘Oh, I’m just trying to do a light thing; I’m not trying to do anything serious.' But I said, ‘That’s not the point.’”

>> Kate Moss is still very much in business — that photoshoot with Craig McDean in Paris last week was for a future Yves Saint Laurent women's fragrance, she recently had buckets of water thrown in her face during a Mert & Marcus shoot, and soon she's going to be jetting in to New York to launch that first stateside Topshop store — they've already got racks inside — simultaneously with her ninth collection for the brand, which she's already been wearing out and about, and has garnered fans like Giovanna Bataglia.

But those things might not be the only projects on Kate's plate.  In a recent interview with the Telegraph, it appears that Kate slipped up and admitted that she's getting married — why else would she say "the wedding"?

An exquisitely beaded 1920s-style flapper dress that is draped over a chair catches her eye. "Ooh that would be great for the wedding." She pauses, suddenly realising the headline-worthy nature of what she has just said. "Not my wedding. A friend’s. No. I’m not getting married and my boobs haven’t grown because I’m lactating or pregnant."

But back to her Topshop collection — she's says it's evolved since round one.

"The first season was pieces that I loved which had been hanging in my wardrobe that I then tweaked and improved. It was great, but now I can’t wear any of it because, oh my God, all my favourite dresses have a Topshop label in them, ha ha. Now when I come into the office I’ll talk about things that I really want. It’s about what I think I am going to wear next season."

>> Kate Moss is supposed to have her big announcement tomorrow, but she had a pretty big announcement today, too: Her eight sell-out collections have earned her another three years of designing for Topshop.

Sir Phillip Green, who earlier this year credited Topshop's record sales to the "Kate effect," reiterated his belief in Kate: "Having had two years experience, I am confident that Kate’s collection now has the potential to become a significant global brand within Topshop."  Although he hasn't yet granted Kate's wish to do menswear, she will be expanding future collections into lingerie and accessories.  Her next collection, for Spring 2009, will launch in March, to coincide with Topshop's New York grand opening.

>> It's always a treat to see Kate Moss talk — since she doesn't log much on camera time, with the exception of all those Rimmel commercials — and it's even better when she's making silly faces, telling stories about catching girls in her Topshop line, and being all around cheeky.  Last night, she did just that on the new BBC series British Style Genius, which for a few minutes follows Kate as she purrs and paws her way through Topshop meetings about her Fall 2008 line.  If you're in the UK, you can watch the whole episode here, but we boiled all the good Kate parts into one for all below.
