Karl Lagerfeld Is Auctioning Off a Role in His New Film

Karl Lagerfeld and Harvey Weinstein will auction off a chance to star in a short film at the amfAR Cinema Against AIDS gala in Cannes. Weinstein will produce the short, and Lagerfeld will serve as its director.

Among other lots available for auction at the gala is an all-black wardrobe, which will be displayed in a fashion show curated by Carine Roitfeld. Money will benefit amfAR's continuing AIDS research.

Singer Jean-Roch asked Karl Lagerfeld to play a heavenly father in his new music video for "Saint-Tropez."

At the very beginning of the clip, Roch approaches Lagerfeld - clad in all white, floating on a cloud - and asks him if he's in paradise. "You were never told that Saint-Tropez is paradise?" Karl asks in response. Roch and rapper Snoop Dogg then proceed to explain why the tropical island is heaven on earth. Take a look at the video below.

Chanel Resort 2013

With beauty marks shaped like the famous double-C logo affixed to their cheekbones, a bevy of models strolled through the gardens at Versailles to present Chanel's Resort 2013 collection.

The rococo embellishments on many of the garments Karl Lagerfeld sent down the runway made it impossible to imagine him showing the collection anywhere else. Floral embroidery accented modernized versions of what French nobles wore to the court of Louis XVI, and many of the looks were paired with pastel-colored flatforms. Derek Blasberg likened the looks to "Marie Antoinette in denim" - an apt description indeed. The monarch wouldn't have looked totally out of place in one of Lagerfeld's denim vests - trimmed as they were, of course, in gold rope.
