The result? A tight selection of swing frocks, equestrian coats, and full-flared skirts in a romantic palette of metallic jewel tones and high-contrast brights. "After last season's whimsical I wanted to do something that was more buttoned-up. The drugged-up housewife has changed into a very wealthy, eccentric young lady." the recent BFC/Vogue Fashion Fund winner explained.

The British Advertising Authority has banned a L'Oreal ad because it features a digitally altered image of actress Rachel Weisz. The authority says the photos "misleadingly exaggerated" how well the product - a skin-firming cream - works. [Styleite]

Anna Wintour has been revealed as one of President Obama's major re-election fundraisers. According to a recently published list, Wintour has raised more than $500,000. [Telegraph]

>> The sunset shades of Miami Beach met the undone ladies of Valley of the Dolls in Jonathan Saunders Spring 2012 collection. Pastel peachy and blue hues - punctuated by vivid brights like aqua, orange, and fuchsia - turned up on updated '60s separates, while prints like a turquoise tile-print and a delicate polka dot were splashed across silky tops and full-skirted shifts. “I’ve been toying with the idea of ‘pretty’,” he explained.

Saunders spent the last year doing trunk shows in Boston, L.A. and New York - and his new-found understanding of his customer showed. With all the easy shapes and gorgeous color mixing, this season felt ladylike, elegant, wearable - and ultimately, super fresh.

Tautz, Nicholas Kirkwood, Osman Yousefzada, and Peter Pilotto. The winner - last year, it was Erdem Moralioglu - takes £200,000 in prize money, whereas the runners-up are each assigned a mentor. Dresses from Luella Bartley, Rodarte, Proenza Schouler and More Go International Designers to Be Re-Released by Target in March

>> In celebration of its fifth year collaborating with designers, Target will re-release 34 dresses from 17 past Go International participants - to hit most Target stores and online at Target.com on March 13, 2011.

The Go International Designer Collective line, as its being called, will feature signature dresses from the past Target lines of Luella Bartley, Tara Jarmon, Paul & Joe, Behnaz Sarafpour, Proenza Schouler, Libertine, Alice Temperley, Erin Fetherston, Jovovich-Hawk, Rogan, Richard Chai, Jonathan Saunders, Thakoon, Tracy Feith, Rodarte, Zac Posen, and Tucker. Only Patrick Robinson of Gap declined the opportunity to work with Target again, saying he had other commitments. Images of the collection, which will be in stores through April 10, 2011, are expected to be available in February.
