Elle Puts Models on Its October 2011 Cover - The First Time in Over Eight Years

>> For the first time in over eight years, Elle has placed a model on its cover. Not just one model, in fact, but rather four: “We felt it was time to show the sexy side of fashion again, enlisting four of the runway’s super seductive models – Miranda Kerr, Chanel Iman, Adriana Lima, and Doutzen Kroes," says editor Robbie Myers. "These covers harken to what made Elle Elle: Shot outside, drenched in sunlight, color, and of course accessories, the women look right back at you with all the personal and sexual confidence in the world.” The four models, who appear on the cover of Elle's October 2011 issue - on newsstands Sept. 20 - were styled by Joe Zee and shot by Alexei Hay. Erin Wasson was the last model to cover Elle, for the magazine's September 2003 issue.

Joe Zee's All on the Line Renewed; Andre Leon Talley Denies Filming Rumored Reality Show (Updated)

>> Joe Zee's Sundance Channel reality show, All on the Line, has been picked up for a second season on the eve of the premiere season's finale episode, airing tonight. The second cycle will debut in November.

And it sounds like another editor is working towards his own reality project. Andre Leon Talley, who has put in time as a judge on the past three seasons of America's Next Top Model, was spotted with camera crews trailing behind him this past weekend while he was in Savannah for SCAD's annual senior fashion show. Although the crew told onlookers they were filming for Top Model, it's rumored to be be for a reality show focusing on Talley, instead.

UPDATE: Talley has responded to the rumors: "There is no truth to this rumor about a reality television pilot." [The Cut]

Alexander McQueen's White Fall 2011 Finale Gowns - A Preview of Kate Middleton's Wedding Dress?

>> Sarah Burton's Fall 2011 Alexander McQueen collection was inspired by "The Ice Queen and her court," a theme that easily feeds into all the rumors that soon-to-be Princess Kate Middleton has chosen Burton to do her wedding dress. Particularly when the collection includes a small selection of decadent white gowns - which by the finale, had the fashion flock convinced that British designer Burton should be doing Middleton's gown (if she's not already). Joe Zee's New Show, All on the Line, Gets a Premiere Date

>> A couple of weeks ago, a video preview of Joe Zee's upcoming Sundance Channel series, All on the Line, came out, and now there's a premiere date for the show: Tuesday, March 29 at 10 pm ET/PT. There are eight hour-long episodes in the series, each featuring a different struggling designer who is on the brink of bankruptcy and losing their business. >> Elle creative director Joe Zee has a new show coming to the Sundance Channel in the Spring, and the first video teaser has been posted - watch it here. In each episode of All on the Line, Zee meets with a struggling designer and helps them "take it to the next level." To the designer shown in this first preview, for instance, Zee warns against the use of "slutty fabric." And in response to the inevitable Project Runway show comparisons, Zee says: "This show is no-nonsense, it's not a game. Jil Sander: The Collection of Spring 2011, Thus Far

>> Raf Simons seems to hold the honor of electrifying the fashion audience the most thus far this Spring 2011 season. Suzy Menkes wrote of his Jil Sander collection: "This was a show that projected fashion into this new decade." Vogue UK lauded: "And in the space of 15 minutes, Raf Simons stole the show. The Jil Sander collection this afternoon did just what he does so well: make everybody forget everything they’ve seen before by giving them brilliantly conceived, complete distraction."

Joe Zee Tweeted: "I think Raf Simons has officially made me a color convert with his Jil Sander collection. So incredibly major! With a capital M," later replying "COSIGN" to Kelly Cutrone's Tweet: "Fashion Prediction: Raf for Jill Sander - show stopper - Takes the season." The Los Angeles Times's Booth Moore agreed: "At Jil Sander, designer Raf Simons' extreme color story packed more of a punch than almost anything else we'd seen so far this season."

WWD called the collection "extraordinary" and "fantastic," and Cathy Horyn wrote: "Mr. Simons has shown some exceptional collections at Jil in the past five years, but in this one he dealt more assuredly with the fundamentals of fashion - shape, volume, proportion, new materials - and pushed past the old frontiers to create a new example of minimalist dressing . . . Joe Zee Headed for More TV in 2011 with New Show

>> There's more TV coming up from Joe Zee. In addition to his regular appearances on MTV's The City, Zee is getting a new show, All On the Line, to be aired on the Sundance Channel in 2011.

Each of the show's eight episodes will portray a new fashion designer in crisis, with Zee stepping in to provide "tough love" and "make or break [the designer's] dreams," according to the Sundance Channel. Zee, who will serve as a mentor to the designers and host of the show, will help the designers fix the problems with their collections and prepare to present for a buyer. “It’s about helping them get to the next level,” Zee said. “I will be here to lend my expertise." The program is in the middle of casting, according to Zee, who will also serve as a producer for the show.
