>> Tonchi: New W to Be More Accessible; Suggested T Editor Possibilities?- W's new editor Stefano Tonchi acknowledged earlier today that he aims to make the magazine more accessible, “probably to just make it more of a general-interest style magazine, and less of a fashion-obsessed publication.” Even before Tonchi was confirmed today, rumors were circling this weekend that W will be moving further away from its current "high art/high fashion/high society/token celebrity" cachet, as The Imagist puts it, and "swerving closer to the In Style magazine model. Or in other words, 'In Style Deluxe.'" Meanwhile, suggestions are already being made for T's currently empty editor-in-chief position: The Imagist suggests T features director Horacia Silva, while The Daily is leaning toward former Elle creative director Gilles Bensimon, former Interview editor Ingrid Sischy, Interview's editorial director Fabien Baron, Elle's fashion news director Anne Slowey, or T's fashion director Anne Christensen. A Peek Backstage at the Chanel Cruise 2010 Show in Venice

>> Yesterday's Chanel Cruise spectacle opened on the Lido beach in Venice with a barefoot, becloaked Tanya Dziahileva in a tricorn hat, and was immediately followed by an afterparty at the nearby resort hotel for the guest list of 300 or so. Lara Stone wandered, "looking for a boyfriend," according to Style.com's Derek Blasberg, and the crowd was overrun with sequin jackets. Karl Lagerfeld held court on the terrace, grooving to the disco music, with a bodyguard (presumedly Sebastien Jondeau, who walked earlier in the show) "holding back the editors back from his young perfect people posse."

Afterward, Karl retired for a late night salmon dinner with a select few - among them Ingrid Sischy and Heidi Mount - in the basement of the hotel, which apparently turned out to be a dungeon, not a basement, as Lady Amanda Harlech pointed out.

The Interview Situation, Laid Out in Full

>> Interview has had a major case of rotating door syndrome in the last month or so. While its owner, Peter Brant, is in the midst of a messy divorce with Stephanie Seymour, editorial director Glenn O'Brien has been replaced by his former co-editorial director, Fabien Baron, who was allegedly fired from the magazine last Fall for going over budget; Michael Amzalag and Mathias Augustyniak of M/M Paris, who were brought in to replace creative director Karl Templer when he left alongside Fabien Baron last Fall, are now leaving the magazine so that Templer can come back (and also because they were supposedly owed three months pay plus expenses); editor-in-chief Christopher Bollen is being pushed out as editor-at-large so that executive editor Stephen Mooallem, who has been at the magazine for six years, can be installed as editor; and fashion director Joe McKenna is also rumored to be leaving. On top off all that, O'Brien is now being sued by Interview for giving interviews after his departure, violating a non-disclosure agreement he says he didn't sign.

>> Fun facts about the new Interview: Marc Jacobs is wearing Andy Warhol's actual wig, which was flown from the Midwest to Paris for the June/July 2008 cover shoot. As for the magazine as a whole, leave it to new editorial director and Vogue Paris expat Fabien Baron to make the content more fashion-focused: first Marc, and now Gucci designer Frida Giannini is supposedly on the next cover.

And former editor Ingrid Sischy, she's not ready to break clean just yet - rumor has it that she and her friends from Conde Nast are telling photographers not to work with Interview, so only young unknowns will shoot for the magazine now. Nothing wrong with a little new blood . . .
