Iman, who signed a three-year contract with Victoria’s Secret last November, further increasing her presence on a national scale, has said in the past that she wants to become a Victoria's Secret Angel; IMG houses a number of Angels past and present: Heidi Klum, Miranda Kerr, Gisele Bundchen, and Karolina Kurkova among them. Many see the move as a bid by Iman to become a household name. “I feel like, with the move to Lincoln Center and Fashion’s Night Out going global, this season is all about change and evolving." said the model. >> Now that Tyra Banks is back with IMG Models and has expressed interest in lending her name and image to brands as a spokeswoman, the requisite polaroids have been taken for distribution, complete with a couple of Top Model-worthy poses, all despite the recent caveat Tyra posted on her official website: "To set the record straight, I’m not coming out of modeling retirement… IMG is such a huge company, there are many things I will be doing with them. Some fashion-related, but don’t expect to see me at any go-sees!"

Tyra Banks Will Not Return to Runway as Part of IMG Partnership, But Is Working with Franca Sozzani

>> Last week, when Tyra Banks announced she was returning to IMG Models, questions rose about whether she would be returning to runways (she retired in 2005) - but it sounds like she's more interested in becoming a spokeswoman, lending her name and image to other brands, than anything else.

In a statement released, she noted: "The last time I was with IMG, I was set on taking on the modeling world in the high fashion and commercial sectors. Now I’m dreaming even bigger, but this time for my company as well. Aligning myself with brands that I believe in, and helping them achieve the kind of success they’re looking for, helps all of us as we grow our businesses."

And Ivan Bart, SVP of IMG Models, added: "IMG will help expand her relationships with companies through endorsements, and will assist her in developing business relationships with sponsors whose missions she feels strongly about."

>> Anonymous IMG Source: Gemma Ward Is "Not Coming Back" -Despite the fact that Gemma Ward proclaimed she had "not quit modeling" last November and planned to be back at work this year, many in the industry don't seem convinced. That same month, her agency IMG turned down a photoshoot offer for Harper's Bazaar, stipulating that if she were to make a return, she would be back in modeling shape. IMG wouldn't comment, and wouldn't even confirm that Ward is still under their representation; an anonymous IMG insider, however, said: "Her moment's over. She's not coming back." A high-ranking magazine source notes: "Once these pictures are out of her being big, her brand is diminished, at least as far as her agency and the mainstream fashion world goes. Gemma's torn. In the last few years [her weight gain] was very much her f*ck you to the industry. She's rebelling by putting on 30 or 40 pounds, so now going back isn't a straightforward option." >> Du Juan Is Having Some Legal Woes -Du Juan has been sued by Chinese modeling agency New Silk Road for allegedly violating their contract by signing with IMG and may face a fine of up to 4.5m yuan (approx. $659,000). The agreement was made in Sept. 2002, after Du Juan was crowned at the agency's annual model search, and stipulates that New Silk Road remain her sole agency. Since she signed with IMG in 2005 before the contract expired, New Silk Road demands part of the model's earnings at IMG, as well as another 3m yuan (approx. $439,000) fine. Du Juan's attorney says that she was forced to sign the New Silk Road contract in order to enter the final round of their competition, as opposed to after the show as the company has claimed. >> There have been a lot of big model-agency switcharoos lately, with both Agyness Deyn and Snejana Onopka moving to Women, but conspiracy theorists have a new model on their minds: Tanya Dziahileva.

In the past few days, she has gone missing from her agency IMG's site; when you add that information to the fact that she left IMG's Milan branch for Why Not Models, and IMG's Paris branch for Marilyn, some are calling foul, especially since shedidn't walk New York Fashion Week because of a lost passport, but made it to Milan and Paris just fine.

Was the lost passport an excuse because she didn't have New York representation? Was she dropped by IMG, did she quit, or is her disappearance from the site all a mistake?

Model.Live Episode Eight: Two Out, One Grand Slam

>> The third Fashion Week in for the Model.Live girls, and things start to get difficult - for Madeline Kragh and Austria Alcantara, at least. Austria went to over 30 castings for Milan Fashion Week and got nothing, except a call from a casting director to her agency IMG saying that she wasn't looking her best. Ouch. Madeline had the same troubles - she wasn't cast for any shows, and at one point got frustrated enough to tell the cameramen to stop filming. Both girls, defeated, move on to Paris early. Cato van Ee, on the other hand, scores Prada for the second season in a row - and does a little impromptu song and dance when she finds out. Will Paris be a whole new ball game, as the girls are promised? Next week, we'll find out.
