Hannah Holman appears in Alexander Wang's look book for T, two images of which were also used for Wang's first foray into advertising-a guerrilla marketing campaign posted throughout lower Manhattan. We pretty much live year-round in his classic muscle tees and are very happy to finally be able to shop the current collection of accessories and T online at the new AlexanderWang.com. Alexander Wang Launches First Ad Campaign, To Collaborate with Gaia Repossi on Jewelry

>> On Monday, Alexander Wang is launching his first ad campaign - but it won't be found in magazines. Instead, posters featuring Hannah Holman photographed by Daniel Jackson and celebrating Wang's Spring 2010 T collection, which hits his e-commerce site that day, will be plastered all over downtown Manhattan. They will be replenished once a week for four weeks. “The [images] were originally only supposed to be posters we were going to send to editors and stores,” said Wang. “But I felt the energy was much more appropriate for something like guerrilla marketing than anything too proper or formal. Because T is really the core foundation of what Alexander Wang stands for, I thought it should be something that could be much more democratic.”

Alexander Wang Takes Ad Campaign to the Streets of New York

Model Hannah Holman stars in Alexander Wang's first advertising campaign. The images, photographed by Dan Jackson for T by Alexander Wang, will be plastered around downtown Manhattan-East Village, Lower East Side, and along Grand and Crosby Streets-as part of a new guerrilla marketing campaign for T. Wang hasn't ruled out expanding the theme to other cities, but noted, "Right now New York City is where it’s at. This is our home.” Posters hit the streets Monday February 1.

>> After seasons and seasons of recognizable campaign faces - Kirsten Dunst, Lindsay Lohan, Vanessa Paradis, and most recently, Katie Holmes - set against vividly colorful backgrounds, Miuccia Prada did a total one eighty, choosing five unknown models - Mimmi Soderstrom, Hannah Holman, Ilda Lindqvist, Victoria Tuaz, and Whitney Coble - who were plucked at a time when only one, Coble, had walked on any major runways; the move is especially remarkable in a time when a number of major brands are sticking with celebrity or supermodel faces. The look for the Fall 2009 campaign - which was still shot in London, early May, by Miuccia's usual standbys, Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott - is stark and mostly void of color.

>> Alexander Wang had not one, but two ad campaigns come out today. The first - a follow-up to his premiere T campaign last season featuring Hannah Holman - is a portrait of his friend Zoe Kravitz alongside model Max Motta, which just like last season will be plastered on the streets of New York starting tomorrow.

And the second, something new for Wang: his first-ever main line campaign video, a collaboration with Craig McDean, Wang's show stylist Karl Templer, and Fabien Baron, featuring Abbey Lee Kershaw in a deserted Manhattan hotel. “This is our way to sum up the season in a different light other than the show,” Wang told WWD. “It’s abstracted . . . Rather than saying, ‘Here’s the product,’ this is more about expressing ourselves.”
