>> Charles Jourdan to Relaunch; Pierre Hardy's Newest Shoes for Gap -Charles Jourdan, the French shoe brand for whom Guy Bourdin shot iconic ads from 1967 to 1981, is relaunching under designer Alexandra Neel in September; the brand was acquired by Groupe Royer last December and is starting with 45 styles targeted at thirtysomething women, with prices running $185 to $250. Meanwhile, Pierre Hardy is continuing to contribute to Gap's Design Editions for the fourth year - this time he serves up two suede boots and a sandal, all due in stores in mid-September. >> "Horse riding, Guy Bourdin, and Paris in the '70s," were Riccardo Tisci's talking points for Fall 2012 Givenchy. The horse-riding influence was present in the form of equestrian jackets, slouchy jodhpurs, and chap-like knee-high boots. But this wasn't your average English countryside jaunt; there were also ruffled peplums and undulating bustles, lacy boudoir slip dresses, ruffles of scarlet chiffon, and an eye-popping amount of slick black leather. The tough sexiness? Part of it was the Guy Bourdin '70s bit, sure, but mostly it was all Tisci.

But even Carine aspires to be somebody else.

You know the idea of the Saint Laurent woman. What a dream she was: wearing trousers, hand in the pocket, no handbag, transparent shirt. I love that woman. It is exactly who I would have loved to be if I could choose. So I would have to go blonde because he loved the blondes, and I would have to have bigger breasts. But it's the idea of the woman I love, and I try to repeat this in my magazine.

>> The first of Lindsay Lohan's spring Miu Miu ads has popped up... and I really really like it. Love the primary colors, the bright red hair contrasted with the pale skin, and the little bit of plum to tie the red and navy together. Her pose is very doll-like in its stiffness, and they totally took her away from just being Lindsay Lohan, which I'm happy to see. A nice surprise, very reminiscent of Guy Bourdin's work, which I love. I look forward to the rest of the set.

>> I was looking through the latest edition of Vogue Paris, when I came across this picture by Guy Bourdin -- I've always loved how unnerving and surreal his shots are -- there's this whole set he did with legs below the knee in heels walking around in different places that look straight out of a Dali painting. But this picture, I like... because at first, it looks like there's just a leg, hanging there... and then you realize the rest of the girl is probably hidden under the cloth.
