>> Some of Katie Grand's nearest and dearest — Giles Deacon, Agyness Deyn, Alexander McQueen — came out to the Royal Academy in London last night to celebrate the first-ever party for her new magazine Love. Guests sipped tea and participated in a treasure hunt, but the night's big attention-getter was Beth Ditto — she's rumored to be Love's first cover star. No confirmation yet — but a good space to watch might be the magazine's under-the-radar blog, which so far chronicles the move to a new office, visits to showrooms, and Giles holding scotch eggs over his eyes.

Henry Holland Does Designer Tees — Literally
>> Henry Holland first burst onto the scene back in 2006 when he got Giles Deacon to wear a t-shirt that read "UHU Gareth Pugh" for his runway bow — Gareth reciprocated soon after by wearing Holland's "Get Your Freak on Giles Deacon" shirt.
In the time since, fashion iconograhy has proliferated on t-shirts. Deer Dana launched tees with cartoon renderings of Hamish Bowles, Andre Leon Talley, and Agyness Deyn, and just last week, Diane von Furstenberg graphic designer Chris Sauve launched the "Save Anna" graphic campaign — "take this graphic and make a t-shirt" — after rumors of Wintour's demise.
Holland is finally switching it up from the trademark slogan tees; He's done cartoon renderings of nude John Galliano, Donatella Versace, Karl Lagerfeld, and of course close friend Agyness Deyn — with flowers appropriately placed, Karl's a Chanel camellia. There are more designers involved — Luella Bartley included — and all approved Henry's graphics, which are going on t-shirts, to arrive in stores next year.

>> THE MODELIZER —Is Agyness Deyn putting a check on all her exposure recently, or is she just sitting out most of this runway season? She has yet to set foot on a Paris catwalk — not even for her friend Gareth Pugh — and only walked Burberry in Milan. It's all suspect: She was in Paris yesterday, but this evening, she's back in London for a Burberry dinner with Christopher Bailey.
UPDATE: According to her good friend Henry Holland, Agyness is sitting out due to a bad case of bronchitis. She sure has bad luck with sickness — last Fashion Month, she was taken by pink eye. [Grazia]

Gareth Pugh On Par in Paris for Spring 2009
>> Gareth Pugh proved he was worthy of Paris on Saturday, with both showpiece and showroom piece on display during his first major stage entree. Inspired by Hamlet's Ophelia, with Elizabethan collar and a little Storm Trooper mixed in, Pugh is earning comparisons as a new-age Claude Montana or Thierry Mugler. But most importantly, he was well-received into the top tier; As Suzy Menkes put it, "Pugh is zooming toward his own fashion future." Now don't forget to check out those newly-commercialized shoes of his . . .
>> INSIDER WIRE —Legendary for their skyscraping heels, the Vogue Paris team threw an unexpected curve ball over the weekend. Carine Roitfeld, Geraldine Saglio, and Emmanuelle Alt all showed up at Gareth Pugh in little black flats — I wonder if there was a memo? [Jak & Jil]
>> INSIDER WIRE —Spring 2009 is a season of new for Gareth Pugh: Not only is he moving his show from London to Paris for the first time, he's also "commercializing [his] first shoe this season." Something for the shoeaholics to look out for. And it sounds like the Paris move might stretch more than one season: "I quite liked the idea of having my girls stomping round a really classic French salon, but maybe we’ll leave that for next season." Gareth Pugh Says Oui to Paris Fashion Week
>> It's goodbye London, hellooooo Paris for Gareth Pugh. Although he's only been showing since 2005, it was only a matter of time before Gareth took his business from the eccentric incubator that is London Fashion Week to the internationally prestigious Paris Fashion Week.
Thanks to an endowment of 150,000 euros, or approximately $233,549 — the largest international fashion prize of its kind — from the ANDAM Fashion Award, Gareth will be making his move to the next level in Paris this September with his Spring 2009 collection.
Exciting times for Gareth, who is currently on a British Vogue shoot with Tim Walker, Tim Burton, and Helena Bonham Carter, and said of the win: "It think showing in Paris is going to give the me necessary kick in the back side, and it's also a change of scenery from London. I want longevity, of course, and I also want to be taken more seriously."

W Magazine Gets Into Bed with Daria, Kate, and Lara This July
>> It's out: This is the secret project Alexander Wang hinted at — but it's something much bigger than just a collaboration between Wang and Kate Moss. W magazine's July 2008 issue is devoted to fashion, and I mean that in the best possible way.
A Bruce Weber-lensed photo places Daria Werbowy, Kate Moss, and Lara Stone on the cover, and that mean troika is joined by Sasha Pivovarova and a whole cabal of up-and-coming designers — think Alexander Wang, Rodarte, Gareth Pugh, Danielle Scutt, Christophe Decarnin of Balmain, plus more — to cavort around for 36-page editorial shot in Miami.
Bruce Weber was the perfect choice to capture the high summer heat in action — favorite images include a portrait of Kate Moss with her father and sister (below), glasses-wearing Jeremy Laing being playfully bullied by a bevy of much tanner, much beefier male models, and Laura and Kate Mulleavy trying on vintage couture hats.

According to Danielle Scutt, she, Louise Goldin, Gareth Pugh, and Georgina Chapman got together during the shoot for a performance of George Michael’s “Freedom! ’90”:
Gareth was playing the washboard, Georgina had maracas, and me and Louise had tambourines. Some of us then went back to the hotel and jumped in the pool. When I woke up the next morning, I couldn’t find my trainers or jeans.
Another fun fact: Jason Wu, besides designing his eponymous line, is the creative director and partner of a $5 million company, Integrity Toys Inc., for whom he develops dolls.
Anyway, back to the good stuff — full editorial here (NSFW).
