Garance Dore Now Lives With Scott Schuman in New York

>> After three years of dating, Garance Dore and Scott Schuman are making it official - residentially official, anyway. Dore received her visa last month and has recently moved into a prewar Greenwich Village loft with Schuman, on West 10th Street. “I don’t make sacrifices,” she says of her move. “There is no, ‘I leave everything for my man.’ I just do things when they make me feel good and they feel right." But: “I wanted to be with Scott," she says, adding: "I never felt at home in Paris.” [NY Times]

Alessandra, Izabel, Maryna, and Isabeli Are Making Some Funny Faces in Dolce & Gabbana's Spring 2011 Ad Campaign

>> Now that the full set of Dolce & Gabbana's Spring 2011 ad campaign is out, the images together are quite something. Garance Dore noted earlier this week that both the Chloe and Valentino Spring campaigns show models who are actually smiling, and with Dolce, the models are also actually showing emotion, but of a different kind: Steven Klein captured Isabeli Fontana, Alessandra Ambrosio, Maryna Linchuk, and Izabel Goulart mid-yell in more than one image, and Alessandra goading Isabeli in another. Of course, there are the requisite sultry looks - this is Dolce & Gabbana we're talking about - but it's worth noting that models are starting to be given some freedom of expression when it comes to ads.

Alberta Ferretti took a page out of Tom Ford's book and had the likes of Camilla Belle, Carmen Dell'Orefice, Poppy Delevigne, Paz de la Huerta, and Marisa Berenson walk in place of models as part of her Florentine show to open Pitti Immagine Uomo last night, for which she created an exclusive 30-piece collection [Style.com, Fashionista]
The Costume Institute received a donation of $10 million from Jonathan and Lizzie Tisch to create a new gallery space; although this gift was the "tipping point" to start construction next year, fundraising for the project started several years ago and has been helped in large part by Anna Wintour and the Costume Institute Gala benefit [NY Times]
Gucci Group parent company PPR just created a new business unit dedicated to developing online retail. CEO François-Henri Pinault called e-commerce a "strategic priority," adding: “My goal [is] to increase our digital presence and accelerate our growth in online sales, which should reach 10 percent of Gucci Group and Puma’s consolidated revenues over the next few years” [WWD]

She admits that the custom Pucci gown and Gareth Pugh headpiece she wore to Vogue Paris's 90th Anniversary masquerade ball were a bit impossible: "A headpiece; a huge train; high wedges. When I came back after the Vogue ball I had a headache because the outfit was so heavy on my head." Garance Dore wrote of Dello Russo at the party: "She is amazing… But she can’t really move. So we make a circle of friendship around her. We bring her something to drink and make conversation…." When asked how she got around, Dello Russo replied, "In the car, leaning in the back seat. Someone helped me - my driver!" And for Halloween, she says she's wearing "something good, but I want to dance this time, and I want to enjoy myself a little bit more with my friends, so it will be a little bit easier." [Nowness]

Garance Dore Captures Behind The Scenes of David Yurman's Fall 2010 Campaign Featuring Kate Moss

>> David Yurman invited Garance Dore to St. Barths back in May to capture behind the scenes images of the brand's Fall 2010 campaign shoot. In doing so, the recent Paris transplant achieved one of her life dreams: taking part in a photo shoot with Peter Lindbergh, who's been photographing ads for Yurman for the past ten years.

"Lindbergh’s shoots were like I always dreamt they would be, the big black screen in the middle of the beach, steamy jazz playing in the background, sublime and natural girls, the make-up a bit undone by the salted sea spray, sand in their hair, light right in their eyes," wrote Dore. "I didn’t ask him [Lindbergh] any questions. My happiness was simply in observing. Sometimes he’d come up to me, tell me a few stories, ask me some questions, try to understand what was this weird thing I do: this blog thing, it really interested him." It’s my first entire summer in New York and I have to say, so far, I like it.” And now her first brand campaign debuts - for Moschino Fall 2010, shot in Milan. After the ad shoot finished, Dore made it her goal "to get invited over to [Moschino creative director Rosella Jardini's] house for espresso," where she shot the flat and a portrait of Jardini.

Jamie Bochert Serenades Crowd at Haider Ackermann's Pitti W Show in Florence

>> Haider Ackermann was invited to present a Pre-Spring 2011 collection - even though he does not typically do pre-collections - as part of Pitti W, the womenswear portion of Pitti Uomo currently going on in Florence. He promised Style.com that "my friend Jamie Bochert will be playing piano and singing" at the show, and that's just what happened yesterday.

Chandeliers were hung from the ceiling at the Palazzo Corsini, where the show took place, and Bochert was the first model out, walking in silence before taking a seat at a grand piano. She opened the the show with a piano medley, which included a rendition of Bob Dylan's "Knockin' on Heaven's Door," and was accompanied by a violinist and a cellist. Garance Dore, who captured the show, described the proceedings: "I’ve never heard her voice and I was absolutely blown away. It was soft, suave, and dreamy, like a summer night. Then slowly, to her music, the models started out. After a few sublime songs, Jamie got up. The show was over."

Garance Dore Hints at TV Show with The Sartorialist's Scott Schuman, Dreams of Doing a Movie

>> Garance Dore has been experimenting more and more with video content on her blog, and there's a reason, she tells The Huffington Post in a recent interview: "My dream project is to do a movie . . . about girls and life and fashion. But it's really a dream project. I'm not even at the beginning of it."

But she says for now, "more realistic[ally]," there's television. Dore's boyfriend, The Sartorialist's Scott Schuman, hinted about a TV project at the end of last year, and Dore brings the subject up again:

We're working on a TV show with Scott. We don't know yet exactly what form it's going to have. It's the same thing: why would we do a classic TV show, when the world is changing? And the world of media is changing? So we are working on the concept. We want something that talks to the people very easily and that you can see on the Internet.
