>> Erin Wasson, who dropped by Charlotte Ronson just hours before her own RVCA show, brought the party to the Tents with a little live performance by Gang Gang Dance while a movie shot in the California desert played above them on a big screen, reflecting the show's inspiration. Behati Prinsloo and boyfriend Jamie Strachan were front row, as were Bruce Willis and his wife Emma Heming; the runway for Erin's first catwalk show got underway fashionably late — almost an hour after the scheduled time.
She told the Huffington Post of her move from presentation to the biggest Tent: "I was given a wonderful opportunity to be here. I did have doubts though. Was it too much too soon? Who am I to think that I belong here? It was very humbling. It was a very hard decision to make but when life hands me an opportunity I'm always up for the challenge. Go big, and go home!" As for her appearance as a party girl in Sofia Coppola's upcoming movie Somewhere: "[It's] half a second. If you blink you're going to miss me. I have no speaking lines."

>> Frankie Rayder to Walk Alexander Wang; Erin Wasson's Mysterious A-List Guest, Musical Act — Alexander Wang is known to bring familiar model faces back into the runway mix for his show, and this season, rumors are going around that Frankie Rayder — who walked Michael Kors last season — will do his catwalk; her sister, Missy Rayder, recently posed for Wang's lookbook. Style.com promises that Erin Wasson's RVCA show tomorrow, too, will be "memorable . . . for reasons we mostly cannot elaborate" — she has a mysterious band playing and a mysterious A-List guest attending. >> Erin Wasson is bringing her first runway show at Bryant Park's biggest Tent venue to 1,100 guests — about twice the number that former collaborator Alexander Wang is expecting.
The show, which is for both her RVCA line and her Low Luv jewelry collection, is set for Friday, Sept. 12 at 8 pm and will feature both a multi-media installation and a "special musical guest to play live on the catwalk" — no further clues available yet on the latter. Of the move to a primetime venue, Wasson said she is "humbled and honored":
“I’ve spent hours at those Tents as a model, working with some of the icons of American fashion. And meanwhile, I’ve only been doing this design thing for a few seasons — Spring ’10 is season three — and it’s kind of insane to think that I’m getting to show on that same stage."

>> New York Fashion Week is still over a month away, but Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week just released its official calendar today and the Fashion Calendar — which shows all of the shows not included in the Bryant Park festivities — has appeared online, so we can get an idea of what will be going down in that crazy time period between Sept. 9 and Sept. 17.

Despite the industry's economic doldrums, a few designers are adding an extra show for Spring 2010 — Ralph Lauren is upgrading from two showings to three in his usual morning-of-the-last-day spot; Phillip Lim is following in close friend Richard Chai's footsteps, doing a two separate shows this season, one for men's and one for women's, rather than combining them like he usually does; and Thom Browne, who chose to show his Fall 2009 collection in Florence instead of at New York Fashion Week, is back on the schedule with not one but two shows.

>> Erin Wasson Showing Bigger for Spring 2010 at Barneys' Behest —Erin Wasson says that she's expanding from her typical informal Erin Wasson for RVCA presentation to the Bryant Park Tents for Spring 2010 because Barneys did so well with the collection that it asked her to expand; the forthcoming larger collection, inspired by her pit bull, Cream, and "sunset," will be in conjunction with her jewelry line, Low Luv. As for personal progress, she just bought a house in Austin, Texas, and is wearing a tiny diamond band on her ring finger, of which she will only say: "I have a lot of love in my life. That’s the important thing." [Times UK]

>> Erin Wasson to Show in Tents for Spring 2010 —It pays to be the longtime face of Maybelline: the cosmetics company just signed on to be Bryant Park's official cosmetic sponsor for two years and is taking Erin Wasson with them. Erin, who for the past two seasons has done more informal presentations, said back in March that her Spring 2010 collection is inspired by her pit bull, Cream. [WWD]

>> THE MODELIZER —Tomorrow, Erin Wasson is having a garage sale at her boyfriend's Venice Beach store Rogue Status because her style "has gotten a lot simpler and now that I’m designing, I want to wear my own stuff." She promises pieces from Balenciaga, Givenchy, Burberry, and Chanel and Marc Jacobs, all under $100, with most hovering around $20 (more details here). Speaking of her RVCA line, she's already work on the Spring 2010 collection, with her pit bull, Cream, as inspiration — "The whole color combo is based on Cream" — so think mauve, pink, champagne, light brown, and bronze. >> THE MODELIZER —Is Erin Wasson the next model mogul in the making? The dilettante has styled runway shows for Alexander Wang, produced jewelry line LowLuv, launched a three-year clothing line with RVCA. More recently, she hit Paris to walk Emmanuelle Alt-styled catwalks Isabel Marant and Balmain and lent her styling abilities to Elle for an editorial in the April 2009 issue. We'll have to wait for her next endeavor, but in the meantime, she's hitting Austin in the next few days for the SXSW music festival. [Style File, Modelinia]

>> Erin Wasson debuted round two of her three-year RVCA collaboration last night, and it was like the Alexander Wang after-party that didn't happen, except with a clothing presentation — Wang was even there. The crowd was bumping, it was hot and sweaty, and jello shots were involved; as for the clothes, pure Erin: lots of black, leather, ripped denim, and sheer with a crochet dress and crushed velvet pants thrown in for good measure. Tiffany Tuttle of LD Tuttle contributed the rocker boots, which are actually unisex, but it was clear who the life of the party was — Erin herself, who jumped onstage with the models, screaming, flitted from guest to guest, and then plopped down spread-eagle on the floor and kicked her leopard-print booties off.

>> THE MODELIZER —Erin Wasson's debut collection for RVCA was supposed to hit stores yesterday — including online at La Garconne — but so far, it's nowhere to be found. According to RVCA, there's been a week delay for unspecified reasons. Erin, meanwhile, is already at work on her Fall 2009 collection, which debuts during New York Fashion Week — fittings, lookbook shoots — and hopes to stay with the brand for the long run: "RVCA feels like we are this f*cking fun little tribe that is making something happen. And there’s more to come." [Coutorture]
