Speaking of the Super Bowl, Vogue didn't charge Madonna to use its logo during her halftime show - in fact, Condé granted the singer permission to use the logo way back in early January. "We're so very grateful to Madonna to have been part of such a spectacular performance," Anna Wintour said. The performance was viewed by over 100 million people. [Styleite]

American Vogue isn't the only Condé glossy embracing the art of musical performance. In honor of the launch of French Vogue's new website, Emmanuelle Alt has filmed a video in which she dances and lip-synchs along to Wham's "Wake Me Up." Models Anja Rubik, Karmen Pedaru, Jasmine Tookes, and Kendra Spears serve as backup dancers. [French Vogue]

Alexander Wang will not be hosting his usual - and infamous - postshow party this Fashion Week. However, according to his publicists, the party will be back on next season. [The Cut]

Carine Roitfeld Says She Doesn't Regret Losing Emmanuelle Alt's Friendship

>> Carine Roitfeld is not only enjoying life as a free agent - she's also enjoying the ability to speak her mind, she says. In a recent New York Times article, the former editor opened up on everything from her current hair color to certain friendships - new and old. Among the newest tidbits? Confirmation that stylist - and former French Vogue colleague - Marie-Amélie Sauvé will be involved in Roitfeld's yet-to-be-named magazine. Read on for a few more highlights:

On the past year: "This could have been a terrible year for me. It could have been very sad for me. I could have gone off to hide at a spa, or to Riyadh, but instead I changed my personality, and it has been a very successful year.”

On the Roitfeld brand: "Funnily, it is true that my name has become almost a brand. Maybe I will follow Tom Ford. I will not be as successful as him, but I want to have as much fun.”

On returning to her roots as a natural brunette, after five years of being blond: "I think I will be more me."

On losing her 10-year friendship with Emanuelle Alt: "Maybe this was not supposed to be a friendship. If I look at the balance, maybe I lost some people I thought were my friends, but I made so many new friends. I am very happy, in the end, because I am the winner . . . at the end of the day."

>> Carine Roitfeld has confirmed that she's working on a new magazine, and hints that the imagery may be different than the vampy irreverence she was associated with at Vogue Paris: "I will always be irreverent in my own way, but I will try to use new approaches. I've used a lot of cigarettes, a lot of sexy pictures, a lot of naked girls. I will try to do something totally different now, because I don't want to get bored of myself or to bore my readers. So, if I learn something new today, I will use it. I have to reinvent myself." She continues: "I want to see a link between the catwalk and reality. It's difficult for the woman to understand how to wear the clothes she is seeing on the catwalk. Maybe I can find a new way of thinking and a totally different way to express myself."

When asked what she thinks of Vogue Paris under Emmanuelle Alt, meanwhile, Roitfeld is dismissive: "I am very happy with what is happening to me today. I am focusing on the future, new challenges, and projects. I am not really looking to the past or what others are doing."

Emmanuelle Alt Likes to Sing Karaoke with Kate Moss

>> After six months in office as Vogue Paris's editor-in-chief, Emmanelle Alt - who spent a decade as the magazine's fashion director - tells Vogue: “It is really strange, editing the magazine; it’s like decorating an apartment you have lived in for ten years already.”

One of the first things the six-foot, 44-year-old editor installed in her new office? An iPod sound system, as she likes to have music - think Michael Jackson, ABBA, disco, and David Bowie - playing as she works. "People say to me, ‘Oh, my God, your iPod!’ But I think a lot of us love the stuff of our teenage years,” she explains.

And the musical leanings extend to her out-of-office duties, too: “I love to dance, I love to sing. After a shoot, I like to do karaoke. David [Sims, the photographer] likes it, too. And Kate [Moss]. In the studio, when you’ve been working hard all day, it’s such good energy to just play around.” She and Moss tend to duet on “No More Tears (Enough Is Enough),” by Donna Summer and Barbra Streisand, Alt says, with Alt on Streisand's part and Moss on Summer duty.

Lara Stone Covers Vogue Paris August, Still Repping for Calvin Klein

A peek at Stone's new Calvin Klein Collection campaign for Fall 2011 also just came out, which means that despite her recent stint for Tom Ford, her exclusive contract for the brand must still be going strong.

Anthony Vaccarello Wins 2011 the ANDAM Prize

>> Newcomer Anthony Vaccarello, the 31-year-old Paris-based Belgian designer who just presented his first show in March during Paris Fashion Week, has won the 2011 ANDAM prize.

Vaccarello, who beat out fellow nominees Adam Kimmel, Commuun, Jeremy Laing, Matthew Harding, and Yiqing Yin, takes home 200,000 euros ($288,540), plus 10,000 euros ($14,427) worth of Swarovski crystals to use on his Spring 2012 collection. "This award is a vote of confidence for me, and it means I can continue to show. Perhaps this will help me find a financial partner," the designer said.

He was previously recruited by Karl Lagerfeld to Fendi, where he spent two years before starting his own label, and for his debut show in March, he worked with Alex de Betak (who typically produces shows for global brands like Dior) on a psychedelic light show; Emmanuelle Alt (who also happened to be part of this year's ANDAM jury panel) was front row.

The 22 jury members - which this year include Pierre Berge, Delfine Arnault, Emmanuelle Alt, Humberto Leon, Sarah Lerfel, and Hilary Alexander, will meet on June 28 to select the 2011 prize winner, who will receive 200,000 euros (approx. $282,000); a donation of 10,000 euros ($14,100) worth of Swarovski crystals for their Spring 2012 collection; and mentorship by former Chloe CEO Ralph Toledano for two seasons on creative and commercial development. Although the Emmanuelle Alt-styled editorial ran last October, the video - which features Isabeli Fontana, Natasha Poly, and Anja Rubik vamping to the Duran Duran song "Girls on Film" - just got uploaded to YouTube a couple of days ago, a fact van Lamsweerde pointed out on Twitter: "Did any of you ever see this video we did in 2010? A Look Inside Emmanuelle Alt's First Vogue Paris Issue

>> Although Emmanuelle Alt says her full vision for Vogue Paris won't be felt until the August 2011 issue, the April 2011 issue marks her first as editor-in-chief of the magazine. Already, she's made some changes - expanded beauty coverage, simpler layouts and typography, a bigger commitment to feature articles among them. And she has plenty more in mind: “I want to show in French Vogue more and more a lot of clothes." In fact, of this first issue, she says: "It’s simple fashion. You can see the clothes perfectly.”

She plans to continue devoting covers largely to models, but will require them to show less skin than they did under Carine Roitfeld's eye. “One boob,” she says of this first issue: “Otherwise, you don’t recognize it’s French Vogue.” And instead of Roitfeld's edgier vision, Alt says: “I want the Vogue to become very feminine. Women are very interested in fashion and beauty.” She's also recruiting a new team of freelance stylists: “I want to have new people working for the magazine.
