Playsuits and Bodysuits From Danielle Scutt For Topshop Spring 2010

London-based Central St. Martins graduate Danielle Scutt's second collection for Topshop hits stores (and the online shop) this week. For Spring 2010, Scutt designed vividly-hued digital prints that appear on deconstructed swimwear, ruched dresses, and chiffon tops. Her inspiration runs the gamut from 50s demure - a floral playsuit in lime green and yellow - to 90s body-con - a dove-gray high-neck one-piece swimsuit. Click below for images.

The future may be impossible to predict but as they say the show must go on and in fashion there is never a "consumers go naked" day off.

J. C. Penney Company, Inc will launch of ALLEN B, a complete women's fashion sportswear and dress collection designed by Allen B. Schwartz to be sold exclusively at JCPenney. Co-founder of renowned brand Esprit de Corp and owner of brand A.B.S., Allen B. Schwartz is a master at reworking trends, particular on the red carpet, and bringing them to market in record time

The short list of the British Fashion Awards has been released. Nominees for emerging takent include Danielle Scutt, Louise Goldin, and Felder Felder in ready to wear and Nicholas Kirkwood, Charlotte Olympia, and Anna Vince in accessories.

Fashion brands continue to expand overseas. Ralph Lauren has opened it first store in Turkey and Armani is opening its first store in India's New Delhi.

Pantyhose for men? This must be a joe and yet somehow the pieces begs to be taken seriously.

W Magazine Gets Into Bed with Daria, Kate, and Lara This July

>> It's out: This is the secret project Alexander Wang hinted at - but it's something much bigger than just a collaboration between Wang and Kate Moss. W magazine's July 2008 issue is devoted to fashion, and I mean that in the best possible way.

A Bruce Weber-lensed photo places Daria Werbowy, Kate Moss, and Lara Stone on the cover, and that mean troika is joined by Sasha Pivovarova and a whole cabal of up-and-coming designers - think Alexander Wang, Rodarte, Gareth Pugh, Danielle Scutt, Christophe Decarnin of Balmain, plus more - to cavort around for 36-page editorial shot in Miami.

Bruce Weber was the perfect choice to capture the high summer heat in action - favorite images include a portrait of Kate Moss with her father and sister (below), glasses-wearing Jeremy Laing being playfully bullied by a bevy of much tanner, much beefier male models, and Laura and Kate Mulleavy trying on vintage couture hats.

According to Danielle Scutt, she, Louise Goldin, Gareth Pugh, and Georgina Chapman got together during the shoot for a performance of George Michael’s “Freedom! ’90”:

Gareth was playing the washboard, Georgina had maracas, and me and Louise had tambourines. Some of us then went back to the hotel and jumped in the pool. When I woke up the next morning, I couldn’t find my trainers or jeans.

Another fun fact: Jason Wu, besides designing his eponymous line, is the creative director and partner of a $5 million company, Integrity Toys Inc., for whom he develops dolls.

Jourdan Dunn, Luella Bartley Win Big at British Fashion Awards

>> Tonight, The British Fashion Council hosted the British Fashion Awards - the British counterpart to the CFDA Awards. Jourdan Dunn stole Agyness Deyn's Model of the Year crown, and looking shocked, managed to accept the award between tears: "My mum would like me to say I'm going to buy her a mansion but she's just going to have to accept this speech instead!" As for Designer of the Year - an honor bestowed on John Galliano and Alexander McQueen four times each - Luella Bartley was the anointed one.

>> Topshop really can't get here soon enough - the newest rad collaboration they're hosting is a capsule collection of up-and-comer Danielle Scutt's best. Look out for a ten-piece line of "classic, key denim features mixed with prints of iconically aggressive animals," according to the designer. There's supposed to be a high-waisted denim skirt, tiger-print cotton bodysuit ($55), and a denim jacket ($148) all in the mix, coming to you online and in-stores on June 2.
