>> Roberto Cavalli Spring 2010 Ad Cast Revealed; Daisy Lowe for Louis Vuitton? — Spring 2010 campaign cast details continue to flood in. Isabeli Fontana Tweeted this morning, "Exciting news! I shot the new Cavalli campaign with Carolyn Murphy. The campaign was shot by Steven Meisel." And causing a little campaign confusion: WWD heard Lara Stone is the new face of Louis Vuitton, but now word is Daisy Lowe is shooting in Miami for the brand next week. Louis Vuitton Spring 2010: All Clogs, Raccoon Tails, and Massive Fros
>> Louis Vuitton started exactly on time this afternoon, leaving more than a few editors shut out and half the front row empty; of those who did make it inside in time, some were still on the runway when the show commenced, leaving opener Patricia Van der Vliet to barge right through. Every single girl had on a sky-high afros, each made from five smaller wigs sewn together, which bobbed "up and down like big pom pom balls" as they walked; Grace Coddington apparently "whooped with delight" at the first sight of them.
A flurry of models were front row — Sophie Dahl and her fiance Jamie Cullum, Natalia Vodianova, Daisy Lowe — but Georgia May Jagger was a surprise on the catwalk. The show, inspired by the '80s and '90s New Age traveller and “street clothes, embracing the hippie-cyber, tribal-punk world,” according to Marc Jacobs, included everything from kitten-heeled clogs to bags with raccoon tails — straight from Williamsburg hipsters — to bike shorts and glitter anoraks. And Jacobs himself wore a pair of the furry clogs for the finale.
>> Jason Wu, Daisy Lowe Collaborate on Jewelry with Swarovski —Every season, Swarovski sponsors a handful of shows, and they're currently exhibiting some of the crystal-encrusted designs by Rodarte, Jason Wu, Julian Louie, threeASFOUR, Jeremy Laing, and Costello Tagliapietra at the New York store on 499 Broadway. This season, Wu is unveiling his jewelry for Atelier Swarovski (peek at left), based on the "concept of sculpting with everyday objects, so I'm using fabric and crystals and making sculptures in that spirit." And Daisy Lowe is also working on a 4-piece line (a necklace, bracelet, ring, and a set of earrings), which comes out in January: "They're kind of magical in a dark romantic way. I've incorporated black and white, star and moon crystals and multiple strands of chains." [Style.com, W Editor's Blog]
>> We May Have a New It Brit Girl On Our Hands —There's a ruckus over Londonside because Pixie Geldof, Daisy Lowe, and Alice Dellal just switched agencies from Select to NEXT; their booker at Select, Sarah Leon (who is their close friend and also started the careers of Alexa Chung, Lily Donaldson, and Agyness Deyn), also left and may be starting up her own agency. While that last part is speculation, one thing is for sure — Leon's next protegee is Tali Lennox, daughter of Annie Lennox, who we all may be seeing more of very soon, judging by her past success. The Full Cast — and a Preview — of the 2010 Pirelli Calendar
>> We had a few clues as to who made the cut for Terry Richardson's 2010 Pirelli calendar when he shot it last month in Bahia, Brazil, but now Italian Vanity Fair has the details on the full cast, which includes Daisy Lowe, Georgina Stojiljkovic, Eniko Mihalik, Catherine McNeil, Lily Cole, Abbey Lee Kershaw, Miranda Kerr, Ana Beatriz Barros, Gracie Carvalho, Marloes Horst, and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.
Terry produced thousands of images from the shoot with the girls holding sloths, fruit, roosters, and holding hands while running through waves in little else than a bikini bottom. The goal this year was to use "no makeup, no reflectors — only the flash of the camera — no branded clothes or jewelry, no girls altered surgically," said Andrea Imperiali, manager of Pirelli on the set. Fifty images will make the final cut when the calendar is debuted Nov. 19 in London, but until then the gallery below — which is NSFW — and a video of the shoot will have to do.
Catherine McNeil Talks Tattoos, Gives Possible 2010 Pirelli Cast Hints
>> Yesterday we learned that Catherine McNeil was recently down in Brazil shooting the 2010 Pirelli calendar with Terry Richardson along with Ana Beatriz Barros, Gracie Carvalho, and Georgina Stojiljkovic.
Today, photographer JD Ferguson posted an impromptu interview with Catherine, who just got back from Brazil, where she said she "smoked and chilled" with a girl named Daisy, "and then it was my turn on set." Catherine calls the shoot, "Amazing. Best job I've ever done," and implies that a girl named Abbey was also there. So does this mean Daisy Lowe and Abbey Lee Kershaw were also in town for the Pirelli shoot?
While you're pondering that, Catherine also talked raw veganism — she just converted six weeks ago — and tattoos — she was "embarrassed to say" how many she has, but finally admitted she has 14:
I'm getting a new tattoo. I'm putting it right here, and it's all these arrows that point in the same direction up this way and it signifies law of attraction. I'm getting it in white. [Getting tattoos] is about bringing good energy into my life. They're addictive. Like seriously addictive. Plus, all mine are hidden so it's not a problem anyways.
Coachella Spawns Slimane Sighting, New York Times Fashion Shoot
>> Crowds will always flock to Indio for Coachella, and over the weekend, the fashion flock was well-represented. Agyness Deyn was photographed mid-smooch, confirming speculation that she has moved on from ex-fiance Albert Hammond, Jr. with Phantom Planet's Alex Greenwald and cementing her status as another British model with a thing for musicians.
Henry Holland, in town to pal around with Agy and see the shows, spotted Hedi Slimane "wandering around with a camera in all black." Yesterday morning, Slimane was still in town, scouting and taking breakfast at the newly-opened Ace Hotel in nearby Palm Springs. Also going down at the Ace over the weekend, a New York Times fashion shoot with photographer Sebastian Kim, which must be for an upcoming T magazine.
Alexander Wang, in LA to launch his shop-in-shop for Opening Ceremony that will feature exclusive merchandise involving fur and exotic skins starting in the Fall, hit Coachella in a Land Rover with Zoe Kravitz; Jeremy Scott and Daisy Lowe also made festival appearances.

>> THE ZEITGEIST —The It Brit invasion continues, and though all the naysayers were poised to boo Eliza Cumming's April 2009 Vogue Italia cover, the visual treatment has turned them into a crowd of believers — perhaps just this once. While Eliza is climbing the fashion ranks, two other It Brits are about to hit the mainstream by way of MTV. Daisy Lowe just signed to do a fly-on-the-wall documentary series of her life, and Alexa Chung is moving to New York, hinting that she'll be continuing her TV career stateside, with rumors placing her in the hands of MTV. Sounds like the network looking for their next Lauren Conrad in the British sector, now that she's said she's moving on. [Models.com, Daily Mail, Grazia]
>> INSIDER WIRE —Steven Meisel's obsession with the Brit it-girls continues. It all started when he photographed Pixie Geldof and Daisy Lowe for Pringle Spring 2009. He was so enamored, he placed Pixie on the cover of Vogue Italia February 2009 with Daisy and Eliza Cummings inside; then came a portfolio for W March 2009 with Daisy, Eliza, Portia Freeman, and Peaches Geldof. Now, it's rumored that he's shot Eliza Cummings again — this time, for the Vogue Italia April 2009 cover. She has been having a runway moment, walking Rodarte, Marc Jacobs, Luella, and Missoni . . . Twelve British Models, Twelve i-D Covers for March 2009
>> Last week, Edward Enninful was in Goa, India, styling a shoot for Vogue, but this week, it's all about i-D and England — he brought together twelve British faces — past and present — for i-D's March 2009 Best of British issue. "The confirmations were instant — it was about doing something for England, and models have been so faceless — British models always have personality."
Together with Solve Sundsbo, Enninful styled each of the twelve covers to bring out the character of the individual model — "I went though a great thought process — we didn't want clichés and stereotypes" — "rock 'n' roll Kate" Moss as a mature woman and fashion designer, "ageless" British models like Twiggy, newcomer Eliza Cummins, who is also moonlighting on the new Dazed & Confused (NSFW), symbolizing British grit with a snarl. To further the emphasis on personality, each cover face has her own cover quote summing up her outlook, from Stella Tennant — "I don't really fit the box" — to Agyness Deyn — "Feel the fear and do it anyway." Leave it to Naomi Campbell to bring the non sequitur: "I love a Sunday roast."
