Tao Comme des Garcons Label to End

>> Tao Kurihara, who showed her first Tao Comme des Garcons collection in March 2005 for the Fall 2005 season, has decided to end the label; the last Tao collection will be the Spring 2011 collection, which was shown during Paris Fashion Week last October.

“Tao wants to have a change of lifestyle and prefers to concentrate her creative energies on the ever popular label Tricot Comme des Garcons, shown in Tokyo twice a year,” Comme des Garcons explained in a statement. Kurihara, who worked assisting Junya Watanabe at Tricot Comme des Garcons after graduating from Central St. Martins in 1997, took over creative direction of Tricot from Watanabe starting with the Fall 2002 collection.

Moncler Continues Expansion With Grenoble, Moncler S, Moncler V, and Now Moncler 365

It's been a busy 2010 for Milan-based, French sport brand Moncler. On top of news they will be unveiling a new line, called Grenoble, during New York Fashion Week and after launching Moncler V (a vintage-inspired collection by Japanese streetwear designer Hiroki Nakamura) during the men's shows in MIlan last month, today Moncler announced a new collaboration with Comme des Garçons.

Named Moncler 365, the Comme des Garçons partnership will produce special products and a retail concept in Tokyo's Aoyama neighborhood. The store will be open on March 25.

>> Juergen Teller wore an oversized white T-shirt and super-short blue satin shorts edged with white piping for a recent interview with the Independent - a practice he apparently picked up on the set of the Spring 2004 Marc Jacobs campaign shoot he did with Charlotte Rampling: "I got to Paris, and to my complete horror I couldn't fit into any of the clothes. I was too fat." Juergen had chosen to shot himself for Jacobs's menswear that season, but the only piece he could fit into was a pair of silver satin shorts. The decision was made, and supposedly, he's worn the style religiously since.

The September Issue Trailer Is Out With More Unseen Clips!

>> The way that director RJ Cutler cut his new trailer for The September Issue, which covers the making of Vogue's September 2007 issue - its biggest ever - makes it like a real-life Devil Wears Prada. In this two and a half minute montage alone, Anna Wintour is revered and feared enough to carry us until movie's country-wide Sept. 11 release date. No sooner than Thakoon Panichgul proclaims "Anna is like Madonna," the editor herself is telling a disappointed-looking Oscar de la Renta at a runthrough, "I personally would not put this one in the show, the others things you've shown us are more exciting." She scolds Mario Testino about his September 2007 cover mockups with Sienna Miller: "This type seems so large and pretentious, it looks like it's for blind people." And even Karl Lagerfeld looks nervous as Anna inspects a new Chanel piece, eventually proclaiming, "It's gorgeous."

Among her own staff, Anna is just as blunt - of one mockup: "She looks pregnant." Grace Coddington excitedly holds up a neon pink and black Fall 2007 Comme des Garcons jacket from a rack for Anna: "Look!" Not missing half a beat, Anna smiles: "No." And in a meeting with stylist Edward Enninful, she looks at his work for the magazine and declares: "Where's the glamour? It's Vogue, okay? Please, let's lift it." No wonder the movie is inspiring bootleg viewing parties among editors - and Anna to supposedly have her underlings monitor the movie's Facebook page for her.
