>> While fashion types are currently migrating to Venice for tomorrow's Chanel Cruise 2010 show — Karl Lagerfeld arrived Monday with Baptiste Giabiconi and his runway favorites Siri Tollerod, Heidi Mount, Liu Wen, Charlotte di Calypso, and Denisa Dvorakova are all already in town for fittings and the dinner Karl's hosting tonight — many are continuing on to the Cannes Film Festival, which opened today.

>> We recently got a look at Audrey Tautou as Gabrielle Chanel in Coco avant Chanel; now it's time for a first look at Anna Mouglalis as Coco in rival film Coco Chanel & Igor Stravinsky. The latter, directed by Jan Kounen, focuses mostly on a six-week period in the life of Chanel and Russian composer Igor Stravinsky (played by Mads Mikkelsen, best known as Le Chiffre from Bond movie Casino Royale), when they are believed to have had an affair.

>> Malcolm McLaren is typically associated with Vivienne Westwood when it comes to fashion, but these days, he's thinking a lot about a different designer: Christian Dior.For over a year, McLaren has been working on a Broadway musical, The Life and Times of Christian Dior, and plans to finalize the casting in New York over the next few months. The musical marks an extension of the fascination with designers we've seen recently, especially in the case of Coco Chanel, the subject of two forthcoming biopics — Coco avant Chanel and Coco Chanel & Igor Stravinsky.

For the first time, Karl is lending his voice for animation: In the French animated action movie Totally Spies, based on the hit TV series, he will play the story's antagonist, Fabu.
