Claudia Schiffer Reprises Role as Guess Spokesmodel After 23 Years

>> Supermodel Claudia Schiffer hasn't aged a day since her first campaign for Guess in 1989, and now she's back to help the brand commemorate its 30th anniversary.

Schiffer posed for photographer Ellen von Unwerth - who shot the first few Guess campaigns in the '80s - for new photos that evoke the black-and-white sultriness of the original ads. Unveiled today, the new images capture the ageless Schiffer celebrating "30 sexy years!" of the brand. Schiffer told WWD that nothing has changed since she last worked with the brand: "Guess will always have a soft spot in my heart, and I'm excited that 23 years later we can still work together so successfully."

The pieces Schiffer wears in the ads are part of a capsule collection that will be sold this year. Take a look at a few images, old and new, here.

>> Claudia Schiffer's new knit collection - designed with German cashmere specialist Iris von Arnim - made its retail debut at Colette during Paris couture week, and it's hitting 50 doors worldwide shortly - including Net-a-Porter later this month. Camilla Akrans captured Schiffer herself modeling the tube dresses, chunky cardigans, and cableknit sweaters (which range from about $400 to $1,600) for the collection's lookbook, and the new designer says of her offering: "I wanted to make easy pieces that are practical yet chic . . . It’s been a huge learning curve, but it’s something I have wanted to do for a long time."

Phoebe Philo, Lara Stone Take Top Prizes at 2010 British Fashion Awards

>> Phoebe Philo took this year's top prize - Designer of the Year - tonight at the British Fashion Awards over fellow nominees Erdem Moralioglu and Christopher Kane, while Lara Stone won the battle of the pretty faces, scoring Model of the Year over David Gandy and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.

Popular vote determined Alexa Chung winner of the British Style Award, recognizing "an individual who embodies the spirit of London and is an international ambassador for London as a leading creative fashion capital.” And Sarah Burton - who designed two dresses for Special Recognition awardee Naomi Campbell (for a 25 year-long career) to choose from for the festivities - accepted the posthumously-awarded Outstanding Achievement in Fashion Design prize for Lee Alexander McQueen, noting, "We will always miss him."

One Gold Balmain Dress Has Graced Six Fall Fashion Covers

>> Balmania is clearly not entirely over. One Miu Miu dress style (two colors) scored at least three fashion magazine covers over the Summer, but in the months since, a Fall 2010 gold Balmain dress - originally worn by Anja Rubik on the runway - is besting the Miu Miu dress twice over, with six covers so far. The Balmain look was first spotted on Abbey Lee Kershaw's August 2010 Vogue Germany cover, and has since been sported on covers by Cindy Crawford, Anna Dello Russo, and Natalia Vodianova. At least one more cover may be on the way - Anne Hathaway is said to be wearing "sparkly gold" Balmain on Elle UK's December 2010 cover.

German Magazine Celebrates 40th Anniversary with 40 Different Claudia Schiffer Covers

>> German magazine Zeit magazin is celebrating its 40th anniversary with 40 different covers featuring Claudia Schiffer, five of which have been released and show Claudia as a protester, a hippie, a prep, a grunger, and a clubber; the rest come out on Thursday. The magazine's editorial director Christoph Amend explained Schiffer as cover choice: "We look back on 40 years of life. As Claudia Schiffer is 40 just now, she was our model for the cover." >> Two weeks after Claudia Schiffer gave birth to her third child, she has announced her new daughter's name: Cosima Violet Vaughn Drummond. Schiffer seems to have a thing for names that begin with C - her two older children, also by husband Matthew Vaughn (whose birth name is Matthew de Vere Drummond) are named Caspar Matthew de Vere Drummond and Clementine de Vere Drummond.

Speaking of babies, Karolina Kurkova - who home-delivered her first son, Tobin Jack, last October - and has been working more consistently post-pregnancy than she did in the months pre-pregnancy, told W: "I didn't gain much weight [during pregnancy] . . . I did take a few months off, to make sure we bonded and established a relationship as a family - not just me and the baby, but my husband, too. But now I'm back to work and it's actually busier than ever. I'm having more fun, and it's almost like I have a higher purpose now . . . But definitely, it's challenging. How do you balance being a working woman, a good mom and a wife? It's tough, but kind of exciting, too . . . I'm just really glad to be back to work, and I'm fortunate that sometimes when I have to go away for a few days, I can take my son. I want to incorporate him into my life as much as possible. And he's getting used to being in different places and around new people. I think he likes it!"
