As if its trademark lawsuit against Yves Saint Laurent wasn't enough to worry about, Christian Louboutin now has to deal with the possibility that Jessica Simpson may have copied his Straratata sandal. [The Huffington Post]
Speaking of copyright infringement: Guess CEO Paul Marciano defended his company against accusations that it's been knocking off Gucci. "I truly believe that if this is something Gucci was genuinely concerned with, they would have acted within days, everywhere," Marciano said in court. "Are you telling me today that suddenly you realize what's happened in 1995?" [The Daily Telegraph]
Barbie is running for president, but not without a little help from Chris Benz. The designer created the campaign wardrobe for the new I Can Be President Barbie doll – which consists of a single suit. "She actually doesn’t have a change of clothes, and she’s not allowed to take those clothes off either," Benz explained. "That’s not what she does." [Styleite]
Dior spokeswoman Charlize Theron is on the May cover of Vogue UK. In the accompanying feature story, she reveals that being a model isn't as easy as it looks. "That f***ing walk, so hard to do," she says of the forceful strut she performed in her iconic J'adore Dior commercial. [Fashion Etc.]

The 2012 Golden Globes Red Carpet Is Here!

>> Here they are - the best of the red carpet looks, straight from the 2012 Golden Globe Awards. Early on, the arrivals hit a high note with a bevy of striking - and somewhat surprising - ensembles: Claire Danes - who later won best actress in a television series for her work in Homeland - wore a graphic, backless J. Mendel; and Piper Perabo turned heads in voluminous Theyskens' Theory. From there, the gorgeous dresses just kept coming - with lots of designers turning up multiple times. There was Vera Wang for both Sofia Vergara and Madeleine Stowe, Prada for Zooey Deschanel and Freida Pinto, Lanvin for Emma Stone and Natalie Portman, and Dior for Charlize Theron and Mila Kunis. There was also plenty of Zac Posen, which was worn not only by Reese Witherspoon, but also by Elle Macpherson. Charlize Theron Designs Shoes to Benefit South African Charity with Toms

Blake Mycoskie, founder of feel-good accessory label Toms shoes, has co-designed a limited edition men's and women's collection with Charlize Theron. The two styles were created to celebrate Mycoskie's donation of over 10,000 pairs of Toms shoes to children in Theron's native South Africa.

Inspired by the South African baobab tree, the shoes, which have been made from vegan materials, feature the tree pattern embroidered over dyed canvas in blue and orange and are lined with Theron's own charity logo-that of the Charlize Theron African Outreach Project.

A portion of all proceeds will go directly to the African Outreach Project. If you need help remembering why (or how) to give Toms this holiday season, watch this video.

Cannes may have brought the week's lion's share of red-carpet glamour, but elsewhere there were still plenty of gorgeous looks to inspire.

Kate Moss showed off her unfailing chicness - and some supershiny blond locks - at the Marie Curie fund-raiser in London, where she celebrated in an elegant black column gown, with husband Jamie Hince. Across the pond at the American Ballet Theatre's Gala in New York, fellow supermodels Alek Wek and Jessica Stam looked equally striking in monochrome Valentino gowns. Costars Charlize Theron and Kristen Stewart also played a game of fashion doppelgänger: at the London premiere of Snow White and the Huntsman, the duo hit a pitch-perfect note in complementary sheer gowns by Christian Dior and Marchesa, respectively.
