Angela Lindvall Confirmed to Host Project Runway All Stars

>> Speculation that arose last week has been confirmed: Angela Lindvall - not Heidi Klum - will host Lifetime's upcoming Project Runway All Stars spinoff. "Here I am in New York City! I landed a huge opportunity that will have me here for a month," Lindvall wrote last month on her blog. "Have to keep it top secret for now."

In place of Project Runway judges Michael Kors and Nina Garcia, Isaac Mizrahi and Marchesa's Georgina Chapman (who also happens to be married to the show's executive producer Harvey Weinstein) will join Lindvall on the All Stars judging panel. The show will premiere later this year on Lifetime.

And speaking of models heading to television, Carolyn Murphy just noted that she's currently "working on a TV show."

Mario Testino On His Top Five Favorite Photographic Subjects of All Time

>> Last night, 600 people - including Grace Coddington, Anna Wintour, Carine Roitfeld, and Donatella Versace - gathered in New York to celebrate Mario Testino's illustrious career as part of the El Museo del Barrio gala. Kate Winslet, who presented Testino with an award, said of working with the photographer: “He’ll say, ‘It’s beeuuutiful, but I think it would be better naked, no?’ Quite frankly, how could one refuse? No matter what insecurities about oneself a subject may have, Mario makes them go away like a magician. One moment you are in the hair and makeup chair fully clothed and wishing you had smoother skin, longer legs and smaller feet and then Mario comes in and in that charming way he takes you by the hand and says, 'Don't worry it's going to be amazing.'"

Carine Roitfeld, meanwhile, said of collaborating with Testino: "What I love about him I can tell him anything and that is very rare with a photographer. If I don't like these shoes, or I don't like this picture I can tell him. It is his complicity . . . to be able to say what you want to someone. I just finished a book about my work so far and 80 percent of it is with Mario."

Testino, meanwhile, credited his career to Anna Wintour: “Long ago she decided I was a good photographer.” As for his favorite photographic subject, he replied: "It would have to be Princess Diana, it took my career to another level. Top five? Kate Moss has been one of my favourites for a long time. I have worked a lot with her. I think I have managed to document her through the 20 years that we have worked together. But there are many people like that: Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Winslet, it is hard to pick just one."

>> Nicolas Ghesquiere's Spring 2011 model cast grabbed as much attention - if not more - than the clothes; and it seems that he devoted just as much time curating his model troupe as designing this season.

In June, the Balenciaga team started a street casting tour: in London, Amsterdam, Berlin, Copenhagen, Belgium, and Australia, eventually turning up seven girls - Ghesquiere called them "characters" - a dancer, an artist . . . all willing to have their hair bleached or dyed black and cut into a punky crop specifically for the show. Alongside those girls - among them was Alexander Wang opener Britt Maren - the cast included a parade of notables: Stella Tennant, Amber Valletta, Carolyn Murphy, a pregnant Miranda Kerr, with Gisele Bündchen closing. "I was sick of the clone-model thing," the designer offered as explanation, adding: "It's about individuality."

The show also explored “bringing out the man that is in every woman,” according to the designer, who sourced the collection's houndstooth pattern from a 1965 Cristobal Balenciaga silk column dress. Also featured: in his first time since joining Balenciaga, Ghesquiere did flats, creeper-style.

Roberto Cavalli Admits He's Not the Party Animal He Used to Be at His $2 Million 40th Anniversary Bash

>> Roberto Cavalli reportedly spent about $2 million on his 40th anniversary bash held last night at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris - and that doesn't include the budget allotted to bringing Natalia Vodianova (and perhaps some of the other 1,200 attendees) to the party. As the New York Times's Eric Wilson wrote: "It was one of those fashion parties that felt like another era, when it was possible to enjoy such extravagance without wondering how a designer could possibly be selling enough animal-printed evening gowns and exuberantly distressed denim to afford it all."

Kylie Minogue performed, the walls were lined with Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott's images of models in Cavalli, and Heidi Klum introduced the designer as a four-tier, 10-foot birthday cake covered in sparklers was wheeled onto the stage. But even through all that, Cavalli, almost 70, admitted he's not the party animal he used to be: “Don’t say it, don’t say it, please, because the people should still dream with me,” he said. “The young should think that, instead of sparkling water, I drink Krug, or that I still smoke 10 Cuban cigars every day.”

Gisele Bundchen Tops Forbes's Top-Earning Model List for Sixth Consecutive Year in 2010

>> Forbes just released their yearly list of top-earning models: Gisele Bundchen holds the top spot - which she's had for at least six years now - with $25 million in estimated earnings from June 2009 to June 2010.

In fact, there hasn't been a lot of movement in the list in the past year - for 2010, the top ten is exactly the same for the second year in a row, with the exception of Natalia Vodianova moving up from seventh position to tie Alessandra Ambrosio in sixth place. Same goes for earnings - not a lot of change: Bundchen, Heidi Klum, Doutzen Kroes, Natalia Vodianova, Daria Werbowy are all estimated to be pulling in the same amount this year as they did last year, with the rest of the top ten's earnings only going up or down by half a million. Miranda Kerr is the only exception - she gained the most year over year, earning $4 million this year versus $3 million last year.

Raquel Zimmermann Goes Glam Rock With Mario Sorrenti in V Magazine (Issue #64)

V magazine issue number 64 doesn't hit newsstands until next month, but we're getting first looks at some of the supermodel-heavy editorials. Crystal Renn poses as a flamenco dancer alongside Emma Dumont (the 15-year-old winner of the 2010 V A Model Search), a 36-year-old Carolyn Murphy gets cozy with two male models in an 18-page spread, and Raquel Zimmermann earns her super title, smoldering in front of Mario Sorrenti's lens in barely-there looks from Balmain, Givenchy, Balenciaga, and Viktor & Rolf.
